I'm sure you know by now, but this is NOT a battery charger! It's only job is to pass current from source to load within an upper and lower voltage limit setting. It has a bunch of bells and whistles too. It does NOT limit any current/voltage going through it either. Just a relay that opens or closes.
oh yeah, thanks. i was using a wall transformer for charging connected to CH+ and CH - , in the opening picture you can see the wires connected. There is more to it than just passing current. Like i stated it will not charge any batteries besides lead acid. It does have a sense circuitry to sense the charge on the battery AND it makes the assumption of charge by the chemistry of the battery.
The sealed battery you are charging is really a Lead acid battery that has the top glued onto it. If you pry it open you can add water to them and MAYBE get them to come back to life if they are dead. Recovering them really depends on if you let the water evaporate out of it and then charged it. The low fluid will burn the plates and ruin the battery.
What you are missing is after you have connected your charger to the charger input, but not the battery. Press the down button and this actually toggles the unit on and off. This will work for you now.
I'm sure you got it from the FB in the comments. What you can charge depends on the input source. A variable CC/CA supply is ideal and allows you to charge anything. This module is just a glorified relay.
If anyone remembers the Arlec charger that was a CC/CA charger of 2Amps. It would fry your battery if you didn't time it right. This board would have been perfect for that sort of supply, especially on a boat where the Pri and Sec are separated by a transformer. ie. No Electrolysis issues.
I've a Moman V-Mount Lithium Battery - 14.4V - 99Wh - 6800 mAh and Charger 16.8V - 2A How many Volts should I set the module to make it turn off? 14.4V or a little higher? can you help me? Thank you very much
Isn’t this unit a charge and voltage reference . Can’t see where it discharges through the unit . You will connect your current drain in the usual way. A parallel pair of wires suitable gauge to handle the charge current. Cannot see why you cant charge any battery. It’s the charger which provides the charging parameters. The unit switches the relay off or on depending on the reference voltages. Probably good to have several to suit battery type and avoid forgetting the voltage range set for one.
Thanks for the review. Quick question. Why wouldn't it work for a car battery? Say I wanted to keep my tractor batteries charged via a solar panel with only 8A max output. This charger should be able to trickle the charge. Could you elaborate a bit more?
I am not sure but I think it has to do with the relay which is rated at 30 amps, so a 650 cca battery would probably arc over the relay or burn open. I don't want to try.
It will work with a solar panel, but it is either ON or OFF - no trickle. It will charge up to the top voltage and the relay will open. It will start charging again when the battery drops to the lower voltage setting. You could set the lower voltage to 12.8 and the upper to 14.2. This way the panel will give all it's got getting the battery up to the absorption range, then will cycle on and off as the battery finishes the charge. If leaving this unattended for days at a time, to avoid using water, I would lower the top voltage to something like 13.8V.
It's not charger, it's between charger and battery. It's only control module, cut at volt you setting it to cut. It's only so you program it to charge battery at 90% , you want overload battery. It's not charger, it's charger controller, Safety, batteries last longer ,🙂 You needs charger,.🤓👍
hi, i have a question. Really does your module save the settings ? I mean when you disconnect the power adapter, are your set values (Vmin Vmax) still the same or reset to some defaults. Thanks for reply.
Im looking to buy this Brand CPTDCL charger cut off board. Can you help me out. I have a portable solar set up and direct from alternator charging my secondary battery. Can I reverse the wires to the CPTDCL charger that go from the charger input, to the charging output to battery wires so instead of charging the battery, I want to rig it to operate a 12v motor and be able to start n shut it off.?
There is no such thing as low power to high power on this module, the correct instructions are Set the status of the LCD backlight (L-P) with a long press of the ‘UP’ button. OFF: The backlight will stay on permanently. ON: Backlight will be automatically turned OFF after 5-10 seconds.
The only reason you can not charge certain batteries is because you need to use the correct charger for the battery you need to charge. This unit only controls the charge parameters, the unit does not charge the battery.
Works perfectly on both lithium and lead acid.
Plus this is not a charger but a over voltage and under voltage disconnect.
so chargers work diffrently? Doesn't they just disconect when voltage is reached?
It does charge the battery, it just disconnects the battery when it's reached the OVER voltage.

This perfectly working with my car lead acid battery. I am using this for a year now and around 25 times now with different brand of lead acid batt

What is the min & max "voltage input" that this charger unit can receive?

Yes
Can this device be used with a photovoltaic panel power supply?

This module is only a lower and upper voltage cutoff circuit.
It doesn't balance amps & voltage which a charger is supposed to do.
He doesn't exactly seem to know. In fact I doubt if he even read the manual before making this video. Lots of misinformation here....
What is the min & max "voltage input" that this charger unit can receive? charger in must be 5v or 12v ?
Why doesn't the display turn on just by connecting the battery? what is the solution
sir, how to factory reset. XY-L10A 6-60V BATTERY CHARGING CONTROL MODULE
Can it charge my yuaza ytz6vbattery for motorcycle

it saves your settings when removed from the battery / no power
Could you plz explain how to connect charger and lithium-ion battery. If possible plz share the step by step process.

hmmmmm not sure , try going to an electronics forum or a circuit forum.
can i charge only 1 lion 18650 to 4.2 v ?
not recommended, I would go with any tp4056 charger board, that will CC-CV charge. This board is just a relay combination with time/voltage check
Yes.. you can.. just use 5v input like cellphone charger... And set the lower limit and the upper limit
how to reset?
it wont detect my battery how to reset?

I don't know why you've set a very low charger cut off of 12.1v? This is practically dead for a lead acid. Try 14.4v for a few hours. 😊
I dont think you fully understand what you reviewing.

Min is 6v DC , max is 60vdc
