- Video captured a woman clinging to the hood of a speeding car as thieves stole her French bulldog puppy in downtown Los Angeles. The theft happened on Jan. 18 as the dog's owner, Ali Zacharias, was enjoying lunch with her dog, Onyx, at a Whole Foods located on Grand Avenue and 8th Street at around 2:30 p.m.
Onyx was sitting underneath Zacharias’ chair. Suddenly, an unknown woman grabs the dog's leash and walks outside to a getaway car. Video of the incident shows the victim clinging tightly onto the suspects' car hood as they drove off with her dog at a high rate of speed. "It was horrifying,” Zacharias recalled. “As he started to go faster and faster I'm like, 'I'm about to die. This is my death. Right now. I'm about to die.’”

However, I do wonder what the parameters or ethics are or should be for those who believe in "claiming" private property especially when: 1) said "property" is also another sentient being (I doubt they're liberating this puppy to a life of non-domestication) and 2) whether we can responsibly assume that this was a crime of economic desperation. I always think of the rich shoplifters like what'shername (was it the Barrymore girl or Wynona Ryder or some other petite white female celeb?) My sister's dog was stolen out of our backyard this past summer. We filed police reports but nothing. It took my husband going person to person on the streets till we found where he was. Only known case of a returned dog in our city. Don't wait for the police to get your dog back.

Why you should leave your dog at home. I don’t take my cat out. I don’t take my pet tarantula out. I don’t take my pet boa constrictor out when I go to eat at the restaurant or go to Home Depot. @@eddiefniiiDogs are typically larger animals that need a lot of exercise and they don’t use litter boxes like cats so that’s not very practical. I’ve never owned a dog and I know this (as a cat owner). Dogs need a lot of time and care and to be walked. They can’t be locked up inside!
This was also in LA… if the owner lives in an apartment/condo (highly likely), hell even a HOUSE (so many homes don’t have yards in California)… she would need to take her dog out to walk it a few times a day. The real issue is why the hell are people stealing pets and kids and what the heck is wrong with the world?!

Many are older and already set in their ways and if you want a specific breed because their traits fit your lifestyle it's difficult to find the right dog at whatever age you would prefer. Some people have the time and willpower to work with a shelter dog, and that's for those people. There are responsible breeders out there, and to assume that she just went to some "back yard breeder" is foolish. You know nothing about this woman. None of this changes the fact that that dog was her family and she's heartbroken. Your comment was extremely cold-hearted and nasty. Someone just this week someone in Houston was getting jumped at the gas pump, and the second after the robber got two steps away from the victim POW POW… some random witness pulled out a handgun and put 2 into the criminal. This is horrendous. If that lady fell and died this would be a murder case. This should be look into as attempted murder. Nowadays we treat our dogs as family. We form relationship and bond/love with our dog just like we do with our family. It’s not a bag or phone u can steal and get away with.

And the story of how she ended up on the hood doesn't make much sense. But even if someone had seen the entire thing go down and the dog get stolen, it would still be incredibly stupid to try and confront a group of possibly armed thieves over a stranger's dog. If she wants to risk her own life over her own dog, then that's her own choice. No bystander should be expected to risk their life for your dog.

Honestly it’s disgusting. I was at my sisters cutting grass over the summer, two small sized dogs from one of her neighbors got out. WHY was some heifer (black of course) trying to get one of the dogs. The thing is little homie was kinda viscous so she couldn’t just grab him lol. She even stopped on this bill and sent her BF to try to grab the dog and he couldn’t. So I started knocking on doors to see if I could find their owners. About 5 minutes later she came down my sisters street looking for the dog (extremely desperate to steal someone’s dog). She seen me kinda looking and then asked me “are those your dogs?” I lied and said yes in hopes she’d stop trying to steal them. Unbelievable to me it’s basically kidnapping.
