Depending on the county of where one lives, abuse has to be over the top before there's intervention. In my county, there's such a shortage of foster homes that kids remain with the families unless there's blatant drug use and the child is in imminent danger.
I'm not a social worker, but I work for the Child Welfare division in another state. The items she's ticking off are some of the minimums they need to see for a safe home environment. But now she's crossed over to another category of abuse by neglecting the basic clothing needs of her child. Sounds like she needs to have mandatory parenting classes so she knows that there's more to it than just household minimums.
When something happens severe, none of the family members, the state need to say it was tragic.I didn't know.My god keep that baby like he got protected that day.

But employees at all these stores are risking disciplinary action or dismissal by posting video of customers on social media. Happy all these caring people stepped up and took action.
They don't report people stealing, walmart just shuts the stores down when it becomes too much rather than point to the crime that caused it. Walmart is trash.
NO she got fired for filming instead of acting. In situations like this she should have notified her manager not filmed it. It's also an invasion of privacy filming it due to the paper you sign when you work for the corporation. It's one thing to film an altercation you have with someone to what this former employee did. To be honest she did this so she could be commended as a hero when she wasn't. She didn't act she filmed and lectured. The woman who got clothing was more the hero and true to helping the child. This video will actually scar the child further down the road when people recognize his mother and point it out what his own mother did to him.

My dad worked there as a meat guy. Management tried to put their work on him and constantly threaten to fire him for not getting the workload done. As he says, it's too big to fail..
What Walmart did was kind of bogus, but their policy clearly is in place to protect employees from getting attacked by customers who don't want to be filmed. If she would have just called the police she wouldn't have been fired. I don't agree but it is what it is.
We all have a human obligation to report abuse when we encounter it. Good for that employee. What misguided, confused, unethical management wrote an employee policy that punishes staff for being a decent human being?

Felicia Darling, the elderly man as well as the woman who provided the clothing are very appreciated in how they advocated and cared for the baby that was being physically abused. Walmart should at least pay her a severance pay and change their store policy to allow employees to film customers who are clearly engaged in criminal activities and to publicly post such videos of the crime. If their is no federal or state statue that prevents any employee from video recording and publishing a crime within or on store property then Felicia Darling may have a legal case against Walmart. 😮
Well this is what I am wondering.. cause it states "fired for sharing video" so had she just called the cops and never shared the video would she had been fired? Wasn't fired for calling the cops. So does walmart have a "no filming and sharing videos from work?" I get it I see videos from there all the time. My point in why was she fired. So stupid. We live in a world where see a crime? Do nothing.

I believe she got fired for recording and posting the video online. lol Which honestly was unnecessary. I can understand recording for evidence for the police but there’s really no reason to then post it online.
She did the right thing 100% in calling authorities. But I suspect she was terminated due to violating workplace rules; the statement from Walmart mentioned their associate code of conduct. My guess is that filming customers and sharing that online is against employee rules or company policy. And if you think about it, that part wasn't really necessary. She already had video evidence (both on her phone and the store's cameras). There were multiple witnesses. The police arrived and the baby was taken. So IDK why she would post the video online. That probably violated company policy.

You can tell that baby was grateful for this clothes by standing there patiently and allowing a stranger/ angel help him. The authorities need to take all her kids away, she is beyond trifling
I was thinking the same thing. Lil guy was glad to get them clothes. Bless the lady in the riding cart. Probably low on $ herself....but shared with a helpless child.

I guess the Walmart “code of conduct” is to ignore an abused child and say nothing. This lady saved this child’s life! God bless her and the person that purchased an outfit for the freezing baby. This is absolutely horrific!
The problem is that she recorded the video and then proceeded to post it on her social media for all to see for viral attention. She didn't simply record it for evidence purposes and showed authorities. That baby is only blurred in the news report, not the video she posted. How do you think that child/abuse victim will feel knowing as he grows up and as he hits his teens knowing he was plastered on social media for cheap likes during a traumatic event in his life? That's the problem here.
"Ignore an abused child?" Calling the authorities, putting clothes on the baby, and recording for police all good! When she posted all this on social media, she and the store became an instant liability. It's as simple as that!

Depending on the county of where one lives, abuse has to be over the top before there's intervention. In my county, there's such a shortage of foster homes that kids remain with the families unless there's blatant drug use and the child is in imminent danger.
That is so crazy and she sounded proud of that fact ?!

That lady that called the police, is a blessed woman, that baby deserves to be loved and cared for, as a father and a retired police officer, I personally applaud her!!!!!
Im agree with you. So true. Another woman with that poor child was absolutely disgusting
Hope someone near this area offers her a job and recognizes that she is a good employee! F Walmart- they are evil.
Shame on Walmart.
She was not fired for calling the police. She was fired for posting the video to her social media for views, and then for money.
Me too
The fact that Walmart not only fired this woman for protecting a child, but actually DOUBLED DOWN on their decision when questioned about it, is appalling. Hope she gets a lofty lawsuit judgement out of this. 🖕🏾you, Walmart.
They're doing what any diplomatic conglomerate would do.... They really just wanted the cashier not to film her but to call the authorities nonetheless . I think if she didn't film her though , the case wouldn't have that big of an effect as it has now! So kudos to the employee. She did the right thing in my eyes....!
Has nothing to do with her doing the right thing. The employee filmed an incident while she was on the clock. That's why she was fired not because they protected the child. It's important to know the difference. Lawsuit will fail, Walmart has a code of conduct. Not saying it's right.
Exactly…..sue them big time . That was unjust job termination.
@@dstanton224 I'm glad I read your whole comment because I thought you were defending but you're not 👍🏻. It's still this acceptance that it's okay for a business to do these things needs to change wether it be federal or state law that needs to change. The argument can be made that if she documented a kidnapping or armed robbery or murder it would have been a different story and she would have been considered a hero.
She was fired because she uploaded the video publicly

Seriously? The employee was fired? The employee deserves a raise and promoted to Public Relations.
Pay her and pay for her to go to college to obtain a MSW or Psychology degree. She's not even holding a position where she is mandated to report. Some humans are utterly disgusting.
She is so in the right morally, but Walmart has a strict policy about filming customers.
As an employee- bad actions as that intervenes with customer privacy/service.
As a human being: she is beautiful and did everything right. If she was fired for that- good. She didn’t need them.
It's times like this when Walmart really has its head up its ass.
What are you people even talking about Walmart privacy lol Walmart films everything and then let’s media and police stations air it whenever they want, screw their privacy rules lol there’s no privacy there
Walmart should be sued for wrongful termination of employees who rescue abused children from unwarranted circumstances
A lawsuit like that would cost close to a million dollars. Just stop shopping at Walmart. It may cost you a bit more, but, consider it the contribution to the take down of corporate monsters.
Taking a Video DID NOT rescue the kid, just like taking a video of a Car Crash/Flood/Hurricane the video doesn't rescue anybody.
Walmart is full of morons in charge that have little more than a GED, and a few night classes in business counting as college credits. None of their decisions ever make sense.
@@Timinator62 I see you don't help people.
We all have a human obligation to report abuse when we encounter it. Good for that employee. What misguided, confused, unethical management wrote an employee policy that punishes staff for being a decent human being?
What’s misguided is people aren’t listening, she wasn’t fired for taking care of the child. She was fired for posting the video! 😳 there is no job in the world that will let you post videos of their customers. yes, she is a hero or taking care of this child!
Cannot believe Walmart fired this woman. Disgusting and disappointing. Shame on Walmart. To the lady who stood up for this innocent child, good for you and thank you for doing the right thing.
Do nothing.
It’s a business decision. The perpetrator who was arrested may sue Walmart for allowing the employee to post this video on social media.
Shame on Walmart. She needed to share this video so people can be aware of that lady and other sicko's like her!!.. Stay vigilant folks and protect the babies, kids, and elderly.
People should stop shopping there. They care nothing about anything but their profits.
That employee deserves praise, not to be fired and that freaking horrible excuse for a parent doesn’t deserve those sweet babies. I hope she loses those children 🤦♀️
I believe she got fired for recording and posting the video online. lol Which honestly was unnecessary. I can understand recording for evidence for the police but there’s really no reason to then post it online.
i agree they should of praised her for it not fired. she was just getting proof of the happening for when police checked it out
She did the right thing 100% in calling authorities.
But to CPS where they are known for giving chitto pee do filers

How can Walmart fire the employee, that's insane. We need more people like her, to stand up and have a voice for victims. Shame on Walmart.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sam Walton must be rolling in his grave.
They send out an email advising the terminated employee not to come to work and their time card / employee badge is cancelled. No more in person meetings for firing an employee, your severance package is sent to your bank account with your final pay.
@@DavidHalversonWalmart better hire her back soon with back pay, as even Walmart is gonna feel the heat from social media over this, especially as it’s picked up by the view and mainstream media
Horrific that they fired the hero who was doing the right thing for that dear precious neglected abused baby! Walmart ought to be ashamed of themselves for what they did! Shameful! Disgraceful absolutely despicable!
Good deeds are punished.
Thank you to all the people who stood up for this child and didn’t back down.
It was a lady that purchased an outfit for the little guy.
They abuse there employees and the people who make the products for the store it’s not surprising
"Ignore an abused child?"
Calling the authorities, putting clothes on the baby, and recording for police all good!
When she posted all this on social media, she and the store became an instant liability.
It's as simple as that!
You can look at her and see she is not all there.
Walmart should be ashamed of themselves for firing that lady! She did what anyone would do if a child is clearly being neglected!
The news media does a terrible job of explaining context. She wasn't fired for calling the police. She was fired for posting this video on social media.
@@Uarehere: Yup.
Walmart has a Privacy policy, No one can film or take photos on the property.
Do not even try first amendment, because it's private property.
The Employee should have just told Management or called the Police.
F Walmart
@@ZeaicliesExactly. She voilated store policy because she wanted to shame that rachet mother.
