Hiya mate! How’s it going? Saw M I 7 last night in Imax it was amazing mate, still like ghost protocol the most and fallout. The entity was so eerily believable as AI is such a big thing. Anyways take care man. Yeah haha Haley Atwell is amazing so amazing
You should do a video on how AI has been used in plots as a threat and also using humans as puppets for its own ends. One movie series like Universal Soldiers had a AI as it's big bad and and use Michael Jai White as a puppets.
Would it be in poor taste for Ethan to design a carbon fiber submersible to explore the sub in the sequel? Because they sure as heck were alluding to it.
That had to be the funniest car chase I've ever seen in a film! It was so awesome I found the clip on UA-cam and send it to my wife to make sure she saw it lol. I was like I don't care if the rest of the movie sucks this car chase was worth the watch 😂
I do agree about Ilsas death scene. I was upset that she died but if they were going to kill her, I thought they’d at least give her a more impactful death where she at least got to say goodbye to Ethan
Yup I agree. I didn’t like this at all. It just sort of ruined the last 2 movies build up all together. For waiting for so long for this one, this was very disappointing. Ilsa for sure my favorite character
The whole idea is that her death was supposed to feel unfair and ruthless to push Ethan to the edge. This is why Ethan broke his moral code to kill Gabriel, but was prevented by the officers.
@@ryandean2961 When I saw the trailers and how prominent Hayley was in the movie I was concerned that Rebecca/Ilsa would be downplayed too much.. But I never would have imagined she was getting killed off.. Like you said it kind of erases the point of the last 2 movies with the all the buildup for her character. Why are we working so hard to establish a new female lead at the tail end of this franchise after Ilsa was so well received in the prior 2 films? Seems random and out of place. The entire time Hayley and Tom were on that train speeding towards the finish I was thinking "This should be Ilsa and Ethan on this train" I am 100% out on this movie..
The agent helping Pom at the end yelled “she has a pulse!”, so it was part of the story for her to return, and isn’t a spoiler that she’s cast in the sequel.
The only way she is alive is if she is the Entity’s secret weapon. Who is playing along to either save her friends and direct Ethans path. Or she is like John Lark except without the bloodshed. She just wants to take down the governments of the world are my theories. if she is alive or not? I wouldn’t mind a big twist in 8.
HERE’S SOMETHING I SAW! So, When Grace puts on the mask of Alanna her Eyes are brown when in reality her eyes should be blue! AS THATS THE COLOUR OF ALANNA’S, Now I wonder how Zola and everyone else didn’t notice that her eye colour changed? this is something I noticed and I’m very proud if it for some reason!
I think the ilsa death either for me because it was a) surprising and b) actually depressing - Ethan wasn’t able to save her and she was a great character with such a promising future but it was cut short, gave a realistic angle to it
You can rationalize it to make sense. But when a franchise kills off a very well liked character with movies still left to be made some fans are going to be out on the franchise going ahead. Not only am I out but I now view Rogue Nation and Fallout as the final 2 chapters.. Fallout actually had a great ending. I won't be seeing the finale..
Loved it! Didn't see the 2hours 40 go by. It might have similar sets to Indy 5, but the execution was so much better. And we get three British actresses who do NOT destroy the main character. Highly recommend. 9/10 for me too. Well done Tom Cruise and all his team👍
@@patriciafenwick5846 oh actresses, yh idk how but the women character design in this franchise is elite, non of them are the same and non of them are like romance partners too.
The movie as a whole was so much fun and had fantastic action, but my favorite performance was Pom’s ‘Paris’. Her maniacal screams during the car chase alone made me fall in love with that character. It’s such a break from what she did in GOTG and I loved getting to see her range. I’ll definitely be seeing this movie again in theaters!
Yep, she was a standout for me especially in the chase scene. She had this manical energy about her character that was determined to hunt Ethan Hunt down.
Felt Ilsa got completely fridged in the film. Twice at that including the fake out. Tom Cruise barely seemed to care about her. Made Hayley Atwell feel like a replacement so Tom could have a new girlfriend
This movie was fantastic! 10/10. Don’t have a complaint. The actual plot is incredibly relevant to today and it is frightening to think. I was crushed with what happened to Ilhsa but it showed the true power of the entity. Ethan mourned her but I think even Ilhsa understood mission must go on. Plus I wouldn’t be surprised if this was done because Rebecca Ferguson has blown up as an actress since MI5. Loved Haley’s character and performance she’s going to crush. Tom reminding the world why he’s the biggest & best movie star on the planet. Can’t wait for part 2🙌🏻
I think the exact opposite. The action scenes are top notch, but the plot is terrible. Not saying the idea of AI is bad, but many of the conversations and scripts are tedious and unnecessary. My personal opinion
M:I 7 was awesome. I saw it in IMAX and blew me away. Probably not my fave of the series, but definitely up there with the best of them. I agree that Ilsa's fate could have been handled a bit better and I was really sorry to see her leave the franchise as Rebecca Ferguson was the best female lead in the series IMO. Haley Atwell is great, but for me she just fell a bit short of Ilsa, at least in this first part. Pom Klementieff was great too and Esai Morales makes a superb villain. 8.5 / 10 for me, but the score may drop or rise a bit once part 2 comes out. I loved how M:I 6 Fallout tied up a lot of threads from the series, all the way back to M:I 3 and I wondered how invested I'd be in this one, but I'm glad to say I was really impressed.
Haley's character was not "woke" at all. It was actually one of the best written female characters for an action movie in a long time. Her character wasn't pushing some lame agenda and wasn't a grasp at woman power. She played the role of someone being inducted to be a spy and it just worked.
@@danielakanji7305yeah kinda lol like when she just gets out during the chase to say im done I'm not doing this anymore 😂 the amount of times people pickpocketed others just started getting old lol. No safer place than your pocket apparently
@@miliyn17no matter what the director does , fans are always gonna be passed off for anythings. Personally I think Ilsa's death was quick . They killed her , so it could have an impact on Ethan , that's why he goes to kill Gabriel but gets interrupted by officers
@@subojithaldar7879 no. The AI killed her because she was the one Ethan cared about the most and would be the most likely reason that he would kill Gabriel later which was proven true but the us agents stopped him. It wasn’t just the movie makers being like “dang we need someone to die to make Ethan mad for no reason” it was literally part of the story and was the only way to make Ethan breaking his moral code make any sense
No, no. Why? Maybe, They will pull off her mask and reveal it wasn't Ilsa after all in part 2. Maybe? ....I hope. I love Ilsa. One of the best female action heroines of our time. Why kill her off? Because of the new girl? Hayley Atwell?...😮
Ugh ya it bugs me so much how they did it. She really raised up the last 2 movies and revitalized the franchise. Her dying just really killed it for me
The IMF keeps blaming Ethan for their f’ups (at least 6 times), disavows my man then proceed to hunt (no pun intended) to either arrest or kill him PLUS one time threatened to stick his aunt and uncle with trumped up charges and lose the family farm. He ends up clearing his name, saves the world t but then he keeps pulling chump moves by clocking in the timecard like they’re the only secret US-based international spy agency he can collect a check and pension from. My mans has Stockholm Syndrome, clearly has difficulty leaving a toxic relationship…
Sure, but I really got the impression from his opening conversation with Kittridge that he wasn't working "on the clock." He was totally going rogue, had no intention of returning the key to Kittridge or anyone else, and was solely bent on using it to destroy the AI entity because he knew that whoever controlled it would become so drunk with power that they would subjugate the whole world. So, I get what you're saying, but Ethan is not a company man. He uses the IMF as a platform to do his thing, but his only boss is the Greater Good.
Ilsa Faust's death did have a little less impact than it should have since it was already foreshadowed in act one scene two when Ethan goes to save her in the desert.
I thought it was obvious that Paris would be coming back, one of the last things they say in regards to her is something like "she's got a pulse", which literally NEVER gets said in a movie without that character coming back in some capacity.
It missed on the death of Elsa. I didn't FEEL it. After everything she had done and her fight with the Bone man from the other movie made her very capable. Gabriel didn't seem worthy of being the one to kill her in single combat
Watched yesterday with a friend in an empty theater. We where on the edge of our seats the whole movie. With the theater being empty we kinda treated like the theater was our living room so both of us where wincing and gasping through out the whole runtime. This movie is now on the top three of the whole series.
I don't think Ilsa died. There was an Ilsa fake-out at the start, and a stabbed-by-Gabby fake-out at the end. Ilsa's death scene was thematically almost identical to two scenes in which the death was fake. Why wouldn't all three be fake?
Only way I could see it that Ethan had to make look ilsa look dead so she was safe. But I don’t think they did. If she really is dead, this really ruined it for me, and the lackluster empathy really ruined the film for me
@@ryandean2961yup they just replaced the very next second lmao like where is the emotional payoff. I just hope Ethan fake her off to have an agent outside the grid of the AI
I think we did get an explanation of the Entity, but many of us missed it because the characters don't know yet. If I remember right, we hear at the start that the Russians are testing a defensive AI. Later on, we find out that the Americans were using an AI to attack. It seems like these two just merged, like Daedalus and Icarus becoming Helios in Deus Ex.
I am a big fan of mission impossible but i didnt love this one. i liked it but i dont belive killing Ilsa was the best move and even after she died it didnt look like it effected Ethan that much
I 100% agree. This ruined the movie for me. I had high hopes for this one. I was so disappointed after that scene. I’ve been a huge fan I’ve seen all the movies multiple times and this might be ranked last for me
He almost killed Gabriel because of her. He would have broke his moral code if he wasn't almost arrested. I feel like you were asleep during the movie and then woke up when she died and then went back to sleep
I checked out of the movie after Ilsa's death tbh... It felt horrible and the way it was so unimpactful and how she was immediately replaced by Grace felt very icky Like she was the old brunette girl and don't worry we have a new one 🤕🤕 Not to take away from the actors' performances, I enjoyed Hayley and Rebecca's work but what the movie did with their characters was bs
I don’t think she’s actually dead. He’d be way more affected if that’s the case. Plus in the beginning he wants her safe and he tells her to “stay dead” so could be trying throw the entity off and not use her against him while freeing up the actress to shoot dune and Silo.
It’s the source code to the AI that’s in the sub. It doesn’t make sense that the AI itself would be doing all that from the sub. They are trying to use the key to get the source code and then use that to derive a program that can control or kill the AI.
This is the only franchise that despite being 3 or 4 installments past where a franchise just gets completely stale or borderline overdone, still delivers and leaves almost everyone wanting more.
Awesome movie. Cried about Ilsa. Wasn't expecting that. Great effort from the entire cast! I disagree with the take that Ethan didn't feel pain from losing Ilsa.
I very sad and unfortunate. Ilsa has been helping Ethan since part 5, 6. It seems that she has always loved and sacrificed herself for Ethan. I don't like Grace at all. There is not much aura and it's extremely annoying.
I don't get how people like Grace at all. She tries to sabotage and get Ethan killed multiple times and suddenly he says he trusts her and would value her life over his. She didn't earn that. And to top it off she's incompetent at everything besides pickpocketing. Just like how the food delivery guy was incompetent in every way but he still clapped him on the back. Such an annoying character.
Ilsa faust's death hurts. I think William Brandt (Jeremy Renner) will make a comeback in 2nd part. And because we see Eugene Kittridge as director of IMF, I think the AI, "The Entity" might also be connected to Jim Phelps (Jon Voight) from 1st movie. Nevertheless, I'm super excited for part 2. 🔥
I'd love to see Brandt come back too. I really liked him and thought he and Benji played off each other well - hope Jeremy Renner's sufficiently well recovered from his accident to allow that to happen.
I loved Rebecca Furguson's character, she was a highilight in the previous 2 films for me and one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much - she could hold her own, so Im surprised she was killed so 'easily' and then nothing mentioned of her afterwards. Other than that, the runtime could be shortened by 30-40 minutes, I loved it and would definitely recommend.
Can someone explain Gabriel's motivations?? Why would he listen to an AI without knowing how the key works and why would Grace be hired to steal a fake key from an unnamed man at the airport?
I thought Ilsas death was heartbreaking and Tom was devastated but realized the importance on the mission. And I do think it’s possible he kills Gabriel had he not been interrupted. Gabriel already took two people he loved and Ethan has faith that Luther will figure out what exactly the key unlocks. My money is on the key unlocking the physical surroundings of the entity on the submarine
Great film and really enjoyed it but likewise I felt the same about Ilsa's death that it seemed like such a waste. Rebecca Ferguson played her so well and wish we could have seen more of that character. I suppose thinking about it she was the only one that knew more, or was ahead of Ethan so much of the time, this was the easiest way to "resolve" that stronger character.
Mannn the plot reminded me so much of Spectre, no time to die, Skyfall and metal gear solid 2. It was amazing. The whole time I was legit on the edge of my seat trying to keep up with the twists and turns. The Lupin the 3rd car chase scene made me feel like I was watching part 4 of the new Lupin series. 10 outta 10. Movie FYE.
Just know, until Part 2 comes out, then we will know if Elsa is really dead. Reminder, that she was among the ones in the room, when they discuss the mistrust among themselves. Grace needed to see Ethan to be moved by the fake death.
I absolutely loved this film .. As well as the stunning action, breath-taking scenery and fantastic ensemble cast, the thing that really surprised me was how well it used comedic moments to stop things getting too intense. I have always loved the way Tom Cruise appears to be so comfortable taking the micky out of both his persona, and the unbelieveable set pieces he gets involved with. I didfind it a very dense, complicated film at times and agree that Ilsa's death wasn't as impactful as I would have wanted. Ah well.. small gripe in one epic film
Loved this film. 1 complaint of the breakdown, "audiences are smart enough to pick it up as they go along" then "by the end of the film I had no idea who was who and what side they were on" kinda contradictory. Love the channel will always be my go to as soon as I've seen a film.
Watching the back catalogue of these with the kids, so much fun once the first couple are out of the way. Ghost Protocol is a whole other level of MI films, and Cruise has been ramping it up with each one of these films. Doesn't hurt that he had one of the top movies with Maveric, and that was all about retaining the FUN in the films we see. Looking forward to seeing this one, definitely will get to see it soon.
Great breakdown! My major qualm -- having just watched it -- is that the creators decided to have a love interest of Ethan's that was killed by Gabriel before he even joined IMF (and more importantly, not ever even referenced in the rest of the franchise). I get the revenge factor, but then they ended up killing Ilsa, so isn't that motivation enough to go after Gabriel? The whole thing with Gabriel killing his love interest from 30+ years ago just felt superfluous and confusing. If I'm missing something with that and anyone has more insight on it, please let me know. Great movie, though!
Dead Reckoning is the first nearly 3hr movie that didn’t feel even remotely like one. Batman, Dial of Destiny, Blade Runner 2049 are some notable ones that just dragged for me.
My theorie: Ilsa Faust is not dead. Ethan told her before: "stay dead". That is a ruse to beat the AI. That is why he is only sad for 2 min. You are welcome.
I’m here to see Ilsa, and she has no character development at all. Merely a side character, so sad. Like no closure at all. No exposition for why. That date scene should have a dialogue a bit explaining why she is doing for Ethane.
I really enjoyed Hayley Atwell in this. Grace was very skilled as a thief and pickpocket, but was clearly in over her head with the spy stuff. She was strong and capable, but still scared shitless at times, as any normal person would be.
If Grace is now with Langley, Ethan now has use of Elsa (still alive,) as she did with earlier in Mi7. Gabriel is sidelined, which becomes the great reveal in Mi8. In turn, Grace returns to Kitteridge, which is where she came from all along, unknown to Ethan.
I thought the film was utterly plain, with only about 2 real memorable parts. Im honestly surprised people are giving this an average of 9/10 on rotteb tomatoes etc.
Saw the film yesterday, loved it. Thought it was the best in the series right up with Rogue Nation and Fallout. The only thing I didn't like was Illsa's death since she was one of my favorite characters in the series. But other than that, I loved the film. Want to see it again to catch up on details and such I may have missed on the first viewing.
I have a feeling that ilsa maybe alive and might be shown in a hospital in the second part. First Reason being when grace says “I’m the reason she is dead” and luther replies” No. She’s the reason you’re alive” which kind of hints that she might not be dead. Secondly, If Pom could survive knife attack for so long, there is an equally good chance the ilsa could too. And finally it’s cinema anything can happen, they didn’t show her for too long and no one was like mourning but were very sad after the scene, so they could actually bring her back somehow like they did Han in F&F
I believe Ilsa is actually coming back. Lots of references back to first film. I’m hoping the reason it feels flat by all of us is because they know she’s alive and the Entity doesn’t
I thought the mystery villain was going to be Jon Voight, reprising his role as Jim Phelps. He would reveal that he wasn't the real Jim Phelps, but someone else.
@@ProjectKhopesh Bless you. Always thought that was a cruel thing to do to Peter Graves. He might have taken it personally. But it's indicative of Tom Cruise's offer. They could have just Jon Voight's character be someone else that Jim Phelps.
It's always a hit or miss with Dutch Angle's (cinematography). But MI7 uses a healthy amount of Dutch angles through the movie. It helps gain attention and suspense. Distinguishing itself from its previous films
I think Ferguson bowed out for the show Silo. and you can tell she didn’t have much to do the more time with we spent with Atwell. Which honestly is fine with me cause Silo is incredible
Exactly between silo and dune movies seems like they were forced to phase her out. I loved her character but didn’t see anything wrong. Plus sign me up for more Haley atwell
I was wondering why Hunt sounds surprised to hear that Sevastopol is a submarine - confession from "dying" Paris toward the end of the movie. He already knew all the key info from the Intel briefing, as a disguised Kitredge's assistance earlier in the movie. Anyone picked that up?
The movie was great but what bothers me is how they protrayed the death of Ilsa Faust. It feels bland and not too impactful. There are so many lacking elements on killing a major character. Ethan should've just shouted in her last breath, Ilsa should've had her last words and died horribly, and they should've stopped the slight comedic dialogue after her death (Train scene, Motorcycle). Like nothing happened wtf and they didn't even make it seems like a driving force from her death to finish the mission.
Theory The Entity's Intelligence is somehow Based on Ethan's Mind. That's why Gabriel is always one step ahead (also, Gabriel is the living embodiment of the entity.. possibly an android). Rewatch the film, Several scenes foreshadow these things, especially Ethans' discussion with Luther. And... Ilsa is not dead, either a Ruse by IMF to put her undercover.. or Kidnapped and held hostage by Gabriel. This film is based on the motif of Doubles... -It's a 2 Part Movie -Both paris and Ilsa wounded in the same place, Paris is said to still have a pulse. Ilsa was being examined by Ethan and was still alive but kept secret to hide her future activity from the Entity. -Gabriel and Ethan are Mirror oposites, Both make their Decisions differently.. Ethan by Instinct and Heart, Gabriel very much through cold calculated prediction( he is most likely interfaced with the Entity) -Ilsa and Grace are very much the same women both in appearance, as well as their quickly established relationships with Ethan. -Two Agents Hunting Ethan -2 Parts of one Key Shall I go on???? anyone who wants to point out anything they noticed that fits this Theory please Comment and Reply... Part 2 will likely continue as part 1 has done with a motif of Doubles, or Establish it's own identity and move the plot forward in a Singular way of story structure. That, I cannot yet Predict except my belief that the key will be used early in the film and tie together all the hidden loose ends of part 1
Thought this one was kind of a mixed bag to be honest. It was a hell of a thrill ride, no doubt about it. But I think the plot was maybe 20% too complicated, “the entity” is maybe too advanced for prime time, they NEVER should have killed Ilsa, I sincerely hope there’s no romantic element between Ethan and Grace because Ilsa’s body is practically still warm, and there were some TRULY bizarre cinematography choices in this one. Ugliest of the McQ missions by a mile. Some really strange Dutch angles, odd editing, constantly crossing the 180 line, no one’s eye lines matching up. And finally, even though Tom’s bike stunt might be the most dangerous stunt technically, they spoiled the shit out of it and it wasn’t as visually thrilling for an audience as the Burj Khalifa or hanging onto the side of an airplane. Kinda disappointing there. Still enjoyed it but not my favorite McQ mission.
Agreed, Ilsa's loss handling was too dry. Even the fight scene itself didn't carry that weight, it was quiet and distanced. Maybe this was by design, but felt "out of character" for the movie, particularly after a beginning that had so much heart.
I think for a single film, Fallout is better. But if the second half maintains the current high of part 1, then yeah I think the dead reckoning movies will be the best in the current franchise. Also, why do I get the feeling that they are trying to not so subtly build a new younger generation moving forward with Grace and the new black agent and maybe even Pom?
Just watched it. I laughed at some of the coincidental corniness like when he just happen to parachute directly to Grace... But I get it 😂 and still thought it was really good!
Towards the middle of the film, I was getting worried that the stakes were just not going to be all that high, so when Ilsa died, I felt like, "OK, AI Tom Cruise read my mind." Luckily, this is a 2 for 1 with Grace and Paris swapping in. While it's sad to see Rebecca Ferguson go, we know she's got Silo and other stuff on her plate and the new characters will keep things fresh.
Speaking of like Fast X They both take place in Rome they drive backwards down the same exact stair cases they both have crosses passed from character to character, AI that is used to find the good guys and mess with their communications.. they are both self aware making fun of being rogue or cookouts with the family
Really enjoyed your review here. It's really well done. We had a great time at the movie last night and the time passed very quickly (it didn't seem like it was over 2 1/2 hours - more like 1 1/2). It wasn't hard to follow along with the storyline, but your commentary filled in some of the vague allusions and completed my understanding, so I appreciate this video very much! Minor correction - biplanes are from WWI, not WWII.
Agree on Ilsa's death otherwise this is one of the best MI films and best of the year with Across The Spider-Verse. Amazing action, storytelling, character moments and tensity. Cruise once again crushed it. Pom really shined here as The MI Harley Quinn. Hayley is amazing and brings humanity and charm to Grace. Can't wait for Dead Reckoning Part II and hope to get Angela And Paula back.
Watched the first performance on opening day. Totally loved it and yes I feel it lived up to the hype imo. I too gave it the same rating you as did Paul. 😉 Highly recommended.
my one thought is that for the 8th film is that i hope solomon lane comes back into the picture as the big final boss to be officially defeated as there is a real history there not this random extra Gabriel guy who they have dropped in and kept on purposely illusive - I hope that lane somehow has contracted Gabriel in to be his puppet whilst he is 'locked away' as he knows that Gabriel's existence is painful to Ethan which successfully achieves Lane's objective
I loved this film, just a proper action film! So much better than the Fast and Furious films! Paul... Who is your biggest Hollywood Crush?? Mine for the past 5 years has been Margot Robbie, but Hayley Atwell might be up there now! 😂
This movie would have been my favourite so far had it not been for Ilsa’s death. She was my new favourite and her death was such an utter disappointment. Especially the fact she was “replaced” with grace so quick and Ethan hardly seems to care. I loved haley atwell in this movie I thought she was great but there was definitely room for both female characters. Ilsa did not have to be killed off 😢 hoping it’s a fake out 🤞
Grace wouldn’t have gotten away from him she had to fight and injure him badly enough to get away, and Ilsa fought him to save grace, he would have killed her otherwise.
Not sure why dellinger thought it was a great idea to align with the antagonist(Gabriel)…and then spell out what the key was for (even though the antagonist probably knew what it does because the entity told him)…..seems like McQuarrie added this scene in so Paris can then tell TC about the key….exposition overload. Why would the antagonist even need to meet up with dellinger….what does he gain? It’s also hard to explain how the US gov added the AI to a Russian sub computer/ memory, as well as how the entity escaped from the Russian sub to the internet in order to contact Gabriel (antagonist). And wouldn’t the power systems in the sub be flooded by the water flowing in or a degradation to the nuclear power source.

I’m still not convinced Ilsa is actually dead. The way it was brushed off and rushed over makes me think it’s all apart of a plan to trick the AI.
You're in denial. She's seriously dead.
@@JynxedKoma you’re probably right lol
Yeah I’m sure Ferguson has said she’s moved onto other things
But, but ... the camera lingered on her vacant eyes for a good 5 seconds or so as Ethan mourned over her. Hard to see her coming back from that.
Zola could've just thought she was wearing contacts for fun I guess
I think the ilsa death either for me because it was a) surprising and b) actually depressing - Ethan wasn’t able to save her and she was a great character with such a promising future but it was cut short, gave a realistic angle to it
Yup, still hate how they killed her
I hated it. They basically fridged her just to motivate Ethan.

One of the agents at the end saw her, and said she got a pulse, so she's gonna be in the 2nd part of Dead Reckoning as an IMF agent😁.
Felt Ilsa got completely fridged in the film. Twice at that including the fake out. Tom Cruise barely seemed to care about her. Made Hayley Atwell feel like a replacement so Tom could have a new girlfriend
I was hoping grace would die instead of ilsa...grace is the main reason for most of the chaos for running away with the key several times
Tom felt like a mentor to Hailey
@ompatel5570 well in part 3 he had someone he had mentored and I was ok with her dying lol. Wish they kept ilsa over Hayley
@@williammora88 I haven't watched the first 3 parts yet
@ompatel5570 sorry for spoiling it but this is a section for spoilers
I loved how M:I 6 Fallout tied up a lot of threads from the series, all the way back to M:I 3 and I wondered how invested I'd be in this one, but I'm glad to say I was really impressed.
ghost protocol was prob the best one and my fave
Haley's character was not "woke" at all. It was actually one of the best written female characters for an action movie in a long time. Her character wasn't pushing some lame agenda and wasn't a grasp at woman power. She played the role of someone being inducted to be a spy and it just worked.
Yep, agreed. Wasn't like Rey in Star Wars telling Finn to let go of my hand and did everything possible to make him look like an imbecile.

Definetly
That running sequence was intense for me. I’m just sitting there like “Is Ethan gonna make it in time?”
Watched yesterday with a friend in an empty theater. We where on the edge of our seats the whole movie. With the theater being empty we kinda treated like the theater was our living room so both of us where wincing and gasping through out the whole runtime. This movie is now on the top three of the whole series.
The AI stuff was very relevant tbh. I loved the scene where Ethan says that IT is scared that he has a possibility of winning.
I love how in all the MI movies there’s a reason for Tom Cruise to show off his sprinting abilities. Guys a beast

I don’t think she’s actually dead. He’d be way more affected if that’s the case. Plus in the beginning he wants her safe and he tells her to “stay dead” so could be trying throw the entity off and not use her against him while freeing up the actress to shoot dune and Silo.
@@ryandean2961 Yeah that's what I meant. I stilled watched the movie but I wasn't enjoying it afterwards
Exactly my thoughts! Didn't sit well with me how they moved on from Ilsa.

I bet Ilsa is still alive…I think Ethan plan for her to go offline. Her comeback will be the highlight in MI8.
Keep the faith Brother…
She is chilling with luther in some village.
As far as i know, Jeremy renners injuries are permanent.

The action punches u in the gut and spikes ur heart rate. Loved it. I literally caught my self breathing heavily during the car chase
Love the channel will always be my go to as soon as I've seen a film.
yeah fair enough, I just mean explaining how the airport is gonna work etc
Watching the back catalogue of these with the kids, so much fun once the first couple are out of the way. Ghost Protocol is a whole other level of MI films, and Cruise has been ramping it up with each one of these films. Doesn't hurt that he had one of the top movies with Maveric, and that was all about retaining the FUN in the films we see. Looking forward to seeing this one, definitely will get to see it soon.
saw it in theaters last night and it was genuinely one of the best in the series and i hope tom delivers just as much in part two
Great breakdown!
So Gabriel wasn't actually one of the characters in the first movie? I was confused by that.

Nah. The supporting cast was great. All of them.
I really enjoyed Hayley Atwell in this. Grace was very skilled as a thief and pickpocket, but was clearly in over her head with the spy stuff. She was strong and capable, but still scared shitless at times, as any normal person would be.
Her knife battle with Gabriel was outta place lol. She suddenly can handle herself in hand to hand combat 😂
So glad this is not the script.
I thought the film was utterly plain, with only about 2 real memorable parts. Im honestly surprised people are giving this an average of 9/10 on rotteb tomatoes etc.
Agreed I’m just a Tom cruise fan which is why I would go watch the second part but it was ok
I came straight here after watching this awesome movie! The car chase and the train sequence were the highlights to this wild ride
I was thinking the same thing in the back of my mind I think she’s still alive.
she said in an interview she is not coming back she did not want to renew her contract
I believe Ilsa is actually coming back. Lots of references back to first film. I’m hoping the reason it feels flat by all of us is because they know she’s alive and the Entity doesn’t

Like nothing happened wtf and they didn't even make it seems like a driving force from her death to finish the mission.
ive always been a fan of these movies, i take them for what they are, but this last one truly seems like a masterclass on action cinema
Theory
The Entity's Intelligence is somehow Based on Ethan's Mind.
-It's a 2 Part Movie
-Both paris and Ilsa wounded in the same place, Paris is said to still have a pulse. Ilsa was being examined by Ethan and was still alive but kept secret to hide her future activity from the Entity.
-Gabriel and Ethan are Mirror oposites, Both make their Decisions differently.. Ethan by Instinct and Heart, Gabriel very much through cold calculated prediction( he is most likely interfaced with the Entity)
-Ilsa and Grace are very much the same women both in appearance, as well as their quickly established relationships with Ethan.
-Two Agents Hunting Ethan
-2 Parts of one Key
Shall I go on???? anyone who wants to point out anything they noticed that fits this Theory please Comment and Reply...
Man I had to look for this comment for too damn long. It felt like a fever dream. And not a good one.
IT WAS LUTHER, THE MASTERMIND ALL ALONG !

This movie was really good. So many great moments and slight jump scares… really didn’t feel like a 2 hour 40 min movie. Went by quick.
Speaking of like Fast X They both take place in Rome they drive backwards down the same exact stair cases they both have crosses passed from character to character, AI that is used to find the good guys and mess with their communications.. they are both self aware making fun of being rogue or cookouts with the family
It's like Fast And The Furious. If Fast And The Furious wasn't shit... Perfect.
Agree on Ilsa's death otherwise this is one of the best MI films and best of the year with Across The Spider-Verse. Amazing action, storytelling, character moments and tensity. my one thought is that for the 8th film is that i hope solomon lane comes back into the picture as the big final boss to be officially defeated as there is a real history there not this random extra Gabriel guy who they have dropped in and kept on purposely illusive - I hope that lane somehow has contracted Gabriel in to be his puppet whilst he is 'locked away' as he knows that Gabriel's existence is painful to Ethan which successfully achieves Lane's objective

Gonna see it Sunday. I’ll come back then to check out this video. 😂 PEACE!
Ilsa did not have to be killed off 😢 hoping it’s a fake out 🤞
Paul, you found it long?!
I felt the movie past by really fast.
Fantastic movie!!
I felt it bit long too
Can anyone explain why Grace and Ilsa tried to take down Gabriel on their own? I don’t recall Gabriel having the key. 🤔🤔
Grace wouldn’t have gotten away from him she had to fight and injure him badly enough to get away, and Ilsa fought him to save grace, he would have killed her otherwise.
Great video
Can't wait for pt 2
I adored every minute of it! Best movie of the year
Not sure why dellinger thought it was a great idea to align with the antagonist(Gabriel)…and then spell out what the key was for (even though the antagonist probably knew what it does because the entity told him)…..seems like McQuarrie added this scene in so Paris can then tell TC about the key….exposition overload.
