- Bob Mintzer Big Band LIve at Vitello's, June 15, 2012. Run for Your Life, a Mintzer composition and arrangement.
Check Bob's great Brazilian Big Band recording, For the Moment: amzn.to/2EKDLM4
One of the great pleasures in life is to be in the audience for Bob Mintzer's performances.
It is so hard to play a solo at this tempo and not play garbage or run out of ideas after one chorus ... That's why Bob Mintzer is who he is .. There's great .. Which applies to everyone in this band ..Then there is greatness, genius and musicallity all rolled into one like Bob. With his amazing writing skills on top of all that no one comes close to the powerhouse of Bob Mintzer ... IMHOO ..
Thank you Maestro !!!! Bret Primack strikes again !!!!! + :D
Taste, taste, taste! Daversa is remarkable, and Erskine's solo was simply music.
Thanks !!!! whot a great band....!!!!!
Slendid, Bret, just splendid. What a glory! I have benefitted so much from the videos that you up that even a huge thank you would not suffice!
super Bob Mintzer!
Bob Sheppard!!! Wow!
One of the best reed players out there today!!
Great!!!!!
Does it matter what make drums erskine is playing? He kicks ass!
Erkstine has a great feeling and I like how he interacts with the soloists, esp Daversa from like 6:10 to 6:31. Solid band but I wanted to hear the trombones get some solo-age. Maybe in another video...
That's not Larry Hall playing 4th Trumpet...That's Michael Stever. Just as an FYI.
Finally T_T i found someone well known with the same name as mine
Very Mel Lewis-y drum solo
Is that craviotto drum set that erskine played? where's his DW jazz kit?
Oh what Drums is peter playing on here? Shouldn't there be a DW?!?!?!?!?
Craviotto.
The band is great but jeez is Mintzer the only one who can play with feeling and soul instead of just notes on saxophone
?
He is a great soloist. More than just notes.
+Stephen Ruggieri Just like anything, music is subjective. I hear a lot of feeling from both Bob Shepard and Keith Fiddmont as well. But just my take on listening to it. Peace.
yer right sounds like Mintzer is playing with college players
So it was you that was the only one in the audience not clapping?
You have way too much class ;)
