If you've made it this far in the description, remember to be safe when creature adventuring! Most wild animals can cause injury if harassed, and I do not recommend attempting to capture any creatures without purpose and practice. The reason that I interact with wildlife is to produce these educational videos, and I have years of zoology experience under my belt. Also, I always ask permission from a land owner before exploring on their property, and you should do the same.
Keep adventuring everywhere, and keep your adventures safe at all times!

I've had a few of these enter my home in Western NC over the years. The first time I was surprised to actually see a scorpion in this part of the country. For all of them, I released them back to their outside environment.
That's awesome, thanks for helping them get back out into the wild!
Another fantastic episode Ben! So glad you were able to give this species the spotlight they deserve. Scorpions are so under appreciated, they need the good publicity. Keep it up!
Thanks guys, they were so fun to work with!
Very cool to learn about these guys. I had no idea that there were any scorpions here in NC so I had to go look this up. We do indeed have them but they are primarily found in the southwestern part of the state. Thanks for the lesson. As for the next episode, I'm guessing it is a Nerodia of some sort.
Yeah their range is super limited here, they have such a weird distribution in general. Great guess!
I found its cousin in my coastal California kitchen a couple of weeks ago. I'm in the middle of a remodel with boxes brought in from other areas so I'm not sure if it is the local species Paravaejovis puritanus or a stowaway from elsewhere.
It's the first one I've ever seen "in the wild." Actually, my wife found it with a scream that probably woke up the whole county. 😂 I caught it in a jar and set it loose in some bushes away from homes.
Oof, glad you were able to relocate him successfully even though he spooked your wife haha
One of my favorite species and one I’ve always hoped to encounter!! It’s so fascinating to me that here in the southeast us we have this cryptic and rare scorpions that are so rarely seen, they are beautiful creatures and I’m so happy to see you feature them, keep up the great work ❤️
Thanks for the kind words, really glad I could feature one of your faves!
@@TheWildReportOfficial No problem at all!!
Come on down to southern alabama! I find them in my house quite often.
@@Bazor80 Sounds awesome!! Where I live in nc we only get the southern devil scorpions towards the mountains, they don’t range where I’m at unfortunately
This was a really cool scorpion episode. How cool? Really cool.
Great episode as usual. Scorpions are so strange.
Thanks! yeah they are weird little critters but so interesting!
What a polite, well behaved scorpion! :) cutie.
I had no odea lizards could do that. Super cool!
It was very cute indeed, I was an especially big fan of the teeny little eyes. Thanks for the kind words!
Great video Ben Thanks for sharing 😉👍
Thanks Walter, glad you enjoyed!
I guess he’s sorta like a mood lizard. 😂
Yes precisely, forget mood rings!
That scorpion is so freaking cute! I really love this channel. I'm not even from NC -- or the SE part of the US -- but I still love watching and learning.
I think so too! Those little eyeballs are precious. Thanks so much for the kind words!
Man, I just caught one of these yesterday. I want to keep it in a big tank and take care of it. But then again, I feel it should be free.
I always advocate for leaving things where they are unless you have a specific reason for moving them, but they are so cool that I understand why you'd want to keep one!
❤ Brother you are doing a great job i learned a lot from you I salute you ✅
Thank you, so glad to hear that you are enjoying my content!
I read that as a general rule, scorpions with large pincers tend to have milder venom compared to those with small pincers. Interesting adaptation.
They're pretty neat!
I'd love to flip one of those cute buggers ❤
Thanks for sharing
Yeah they are surprisingly intricate creatures up close.
My scorpion can beat up your scorpion. 😉 Great spotlight on the scorp in your area. Like you said, "Really difficult to find these... where I live". Cool you found one.
Yeah true, these guys are cute but don't hold a candle to the Western varieties. Thanks for the support!
The Southern Devil Scorpion should be renamed:
Dixie Angel Scorpion.

I love this, 11/10 name change idea
Scary if it were bigger! So cute! And chill!
My guess is ringneck snake for the next episode.
Ooh great guess!
I was bitten by one .. felt like fire under the skin, not deadly but really painful.
Ouch, that sounds decidedly un-fun. Glad this one was friendly!
I'd never have the balls 😅
🦂🦂🦂😮
It wasn't that scary after the initial moment of "Mhh this might be a bad idea"
Another totally cool video. Have you tried hunting for them at night with a black light? I assume they'd glow like other scorpions. Do you think being stung would be painful, even if it's not dangerous?
Thank you1 I've never searched for this species using that method, but am sure that they would fluoresce. From accounts I've heard, the tiny venom yield leads to stings which feel approximately like being stung by a hornet.
@@TheWildReportOfficial Equal to a hornet sting would definitely be quite the zap!
@@joylayton8794 Yes I'm not necessarily on board for a sting haha
It says holding a wild scorpion, are there a bunch of tame scorpions that I don’t know about??
Yes, I've been training a small army of them for years.
hi
Where at in south carolina can you find this species of scorpion
They are primarily found in the Western half of the state!
@@TheWildReportOfficial do you know if there are any around the columbia sc area
@@ConfusedAutumnTrees-bu1ei I would check the map on iNaturalist and see if there are observations in your specific area!
I saw scorpions when I was in Italy🇮🇹
Neat, what species?
@@TheWildReportOfficial Euscorpius Italicus
Neat, but disproportionate looking haha @@ValentinaAcciardi
@@TheWildReportOfficial Lol Yeah Me and my nephew caught a dozen of them. We took them inside. They were brownish, 1 1/2-2 inches long. They were cool looking under the ultraviolet light😂
🦂🦂🦂
I'm just glad that scorpions have their own emoji
You see one of them things on you, you better get it off ASAP
This one was kind of chilling, but they do look a little creepy if you aren't a bug person.
