Ok, that's a new Marvel character right there, venom in the claws. Definitely see them here in AZ, but not often. Cool mini-doc. Anything that eats mites is a friend of mine.
Isn't it? lol. I literally wanted to call the video that, but decided it wasn't a wise idea. Are the ones you find the tannish brown sort, or like this one? Also, if it's not this species, is it the same size, or larger?
I have been trying to find these guys here in the UK (I am an avid macro photographer), we apparently have some 23 species here, but they are all very excellent at hide and seek.
Have you seen the Field Studies Council publication: Illustrated key to the British False Scorpions (Pseudoscorpions)? It's a great little chart which might help and it's a nice thing to have anyway.
@@chrisegnoto I just discovered your channel yesterday. I was out looking for spring peepers and when I got back I found your video on the topic. Thanks for posting all this informative content!
Hi Chris! I looooove scorpions so much. I’ve had several encounters INSIDE my house, twice on me. Luckily I wasn’t stung. I do have a video where I showed my son how they glow under a UV light. We have southern devil scorpions here, and now I’ll have to be on the hunt for this cutie. Thanks, as always for shadowing the coolest critters and stuff found in nature. 🦂☮️😊
I happen to come across a few of these while out shooting macro photos. They were hiding in a crevice on a dilapidated wooden fence. Neat little creatures! I post my macros on iNaturalist.
You should be able to sign up for disability benefits which should help quite a bit. Hope you do a video on how to find these like you said. I'd like to see one with my own eyeballs in the wild.
I can't wait to see it, man. I have been away a couple days camping and I got home yesterday just in time to do a public campfire and nature walk about Owls. I am sooo tired, but I have to do it all again, tonight. I want to see your video!
I watch this video over and over. It's very good, informative , interesting stuff. You done a very good job. I've only found one of these years ago. Very tiny and about the coolest thing I've seen. And I spent most of my life from a very young age. Hunting everything nature here in Indiana. Appreciate your work Thanks
Brilliant macro work. Love these little critters. I'm sure we have plenty in our semi-wild garden. Wanted to go hunting this year but was caught up doing maintenance, hopefully find some in 2023.
So I thought...no way we won’t have these in the uk....sure enough there are 27 known varieties....guess what I’m now going to be looking for next time I’m out in the garden. Every days a school day 😃
Terrific video Chris! Yet another arachnid that I never knew about. Next time I am outdoors, I am going to look to see if I can find one. I will bring along a magnifying lens with me. Thanks for your excellent videos and I hope that you are doing well my friend! 👍👍
That's funny, someone said the same thing on Friday. I wonder if it's a thing. I can sort of see why, but Crab spiders are an actual spider. Cool ones at that, tbh.
Hello. Thank you so much! I have another video coming out Saturday morning. Actually, I do have a video on House centipedes :) Isnt the best in the world, I might redo it. ua-cam.com/video/38IKKada65c/v-deo.html

@@chrisegnoto hell yeah man! Love this time of year, especially at night, all of the jewels of insect and arachnid kingdoms come out around the lamps. Happy hunting and can’t wait for more content
awesome, Brother and thank you. I am going to be setting up some good lights in a couple weeks for a few nights. Can't wait. One of them is a mercury vapor lamp, so it should be great. September is also a great month for light traps. Where do you live?
@@chrisegnoto southeast michigan! I live in a pretty urban area but near a nature preserve so I get some pretty dope moth visitors, rode my motorbike a bit north this week however though and got up close and personal with some awesome glow worms
TBH, I liked thew old name. But, by the time I had enough money to register Nature Now officially (to be safe, legal wise), some company came out with the same darn name. Not even related to what I do. So....I had to come up with an alternate name :/

That moment when a little arachnid you can barely ever find can live longer than an octopus.. Not to mention many, if not most, spiders.
These guys are actually closer related to mites than to scorpions, mites also make silk from the mouth parts as well.
I've only seen pseudoscorpions on a few occassions.
I have been trying to find these guys here in the UK (I am an avid macro photographer), we apparently have some 23 species here, but they are all very excellent at hide and seek.
They so are! I intend to make a video soon, that should help us both to find them, easier.
Have you seen the Field Studies Council publication: Illustrated key to the British False Scorpions (Pseudoscorpions)? It's a great little chart which might help and it's a nice thing to have anyway.
Only found them 3 times in my life. Once was behind a Bathroom Mirror when I was doing some remodeling. Vey cool species
Neat find, behind the mirror. I have also only seen them a few times. I intend to change that, soon.
I have seen pseudoscorpions on three occasions and each time they were inside of a book. They’re called book scorpions for a reason. :)
I am jealous, I rarely ever see Pseudoscorpions, and haven't seen one in a book....yet. I hope I do, tbh.

I keep finding these heroic little guys and gals here in Charlottetown P.E.I. this winter inside my home.
OMG, I am so jealous. I am always hoping to find another one and if I see one a year, I am lucky!

I'll be looking for these now!

Thank you so much, Travis. That really means a lot! I am glad you watched this one. It's one of my favorites, but doesn't get much attention
Excellent video, Chris! I didn't know anything about these amazing critters until now - they're so cool
Awesome video 👍. Never knew ! Do you know if they're In Michigan?
I have never seen one
Chris can you please tell us what region you are in during your videos?
Man I thought they were European only. I read about them in Ireland. Are they in Mismi? Never seen them
