737SS DU Panel Build

- I am currently working on an ongoing prototype with my Patreons. It's a single-seat 737 build that is designed to be fully operational yet compact enough to fit in smaller UK households. The panel build is simple to follow along and features laser-engraved panels with lite flow knobs for a final finishing touch.

A massive Thank You to Sebi Woelke for the Intro and Logo!
You know it’s a good day when Karl uploads
Its a simple build, but I hope it helps those on their build. Thank you.
So true
This became my absolute favorite channel ! Thank you Karl !
A good closed design. And you even have made designs for both rotary sizes. A lot of work.
Good morning Mickey, I want to make sure I provided sim builders with all the options for this build. You can either 3D print each part or purchase the laser-engraved version. Unfortunately, the large eight position rotary switches are not as easy to find anymore, so I have included the design for the smaller 16mm rotary switch, which is more readily available, to make the design a sort of universal build.
Great job, as always! Thx for sharing, Karl!
My pleasure!
Nice job Karl and easy to follow as always
Thanks 👍
Excellent ;)
Many thanks!
Brilliant work Karl, this is giving me so much inspiration to do the same with all the same toys(equipment).... its a balancing act with the better half😂😂
Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that my ideas could be useful in your project. This design method has been applied throughout the entire MIP and it appears to be performing well. If all panels look as good as this one when illuminated, the final result should be impressive. I hope your significant other is as supportive as mine.
Nice job on those knobs. I have yet to try out my resin printer. ...
Thank you, i think the next step is to get the NG black and white decals instead of painting the stripe. But that hopefully should be a minor change.
Would U even have plans for the desktop mealt and the back housing thats my biggest thing to get a desktop one looking like urs that could easy sit on a desk
Can you please share a link where to get the LED strip you are using?
Hi Karl, glad to see you building a single seat version of the 737 and sharing it with the community! As this makes my idea of having a sim in my rather tiny house more realistic, I started purchasing this DU module as a test for myself. When inspecting the delivered models, I noticed the stress relief for the cables nor hole for it in the DU-L/DU-S was included in the design. Is this something seperate to purchase or was the design not yet updated on the website? Thanks!!! Edit: I suppose you just drilled a hole in it, and bought a stress relief in the shop, right?
Id lyv the full system but cant do this work am a programmer
Noooooooo!!!! - more apache bits!!
I have to complete my 737 first. You cant run a website called 737DIYSIM and not have a 737! lol
Really cool! Aren’t the real switches white though?
No, they are a light grey, FS595 - 36440 to be exact. Also, only 4 of them on the whole flight deck are actually backlit.
Defo light grey, But dont fall into the trap of wanting the exact boeing colour. Theres no need, A light grey will do aslong as they are all the same. This goes for the whole cockpit. Ral 7011 (iron grey Matt or satin) is easy to get hold of, and as long as all the panels are painted with same paint, its going to look amazing. I see way to many people get hung up with trying to match the exact colour code.
Great job again!!!!! You’re a crack
Thank you, I hope to get going on this build and see some real development!
How did you cut your back panel? Ive got OEM goodies that probably wont fit in a panel from a manufacturer.
I cut my back panel in several sections, moving the one peice acriyilic along on the bed until it was all cut. I will produce a final build video showing this. But its pretty similar to Mickey flightdeck who has just published something very similar to how i did it.
so this will only have functional components on the left side? or whats the plan to make it SS
Hello, The singlke seat will have full functionity of the dual seat 737. The co-pilots knee panels will be added to the captians side as will the 6 pack. I have removed the first officer ND/PFD. This saves me a lot of space and a monitor hook up. These builds are currently aimed at my Patreons so they can build and help test the design before release.
@@helimech8152 Gotcha, sounds like a great idea.
Can we comission you to build one ?
Sorry, i just dont have time to build complete projects for people. I like to move onto the next project or revisit an old projhect to make it better!
First
Well Done! You were fast!
@@helimech8152 love watching your videos so I had to watch it as fast as I could
Haha, 737 SS may be not so good a name..... ;-)
Thats been said a couple of times now. Once the design is done and ready i will revisit the name.
@@helimech8152 How about 737 OS or 737 CS (One Seat or Captain's Seat)
