In those situations I drill a hole in the threaded shaft for a cotter pin and switch to a castle nut. I keep a supply of UHMD stock in my shop (otherwise know in some circles as SawSlick since its used on saw fences and sliding tables) and make up new flat washers, bushings etc from that material since its basically self lubricating. Works pretty good on kick-up sailboat rudders too. Have also used UHMD to machine parts for airtools that have become unobtanium.
Best!
Good information of a fix/upgrade.
thanks for sharing and taking us along
16:52 Cotter Pin.. that reminds me, unfinished business.. thanks! 👍😎✊
Don’t know what Kawasaki was thinking when they got rid of the cotter pin. I’ve drilled the pivot to accept lock wire, I’ve used double nuts, you name it.
Hey Jim, we have three Sea-Doo and Lake Havasu. We are trying to get rid of along with the three Sea-Doo trailer. They need some work. Wanted to see if you were interested or knew anybody who would be. Love your videos take care hope to hear from you.
I have an 07 800 SXR that would likely benefit from this. I have had since new and the steering is a bit rough Is it a similar process to the 650? Love yer channel Jim thanks for the vids
Hey man, I went through all your 650 videos but didn’t see it. You talked about converting the oil injection tank into a second fuel cell but I never saw it. Can you make a video or elaborate on this? I have a vented oil tank with a solid cap. I think this would be a slick idea if it’s simple but I haven’t found any old forums on it and just want an explanation. Thanks!!
Hi @Jet Ski Jim, great videos. I Have a problem with my 550sx and i wanted for an advice from You. How când we talk? Thank you
where do you get your spark plug boots that are non resistor, I am have trouble finding ones that aren’t aftermarket or oem and I know those have built in resistors.
In his cdi video he gives you all that info for them.
Any recommendations where to ride on Lake Havasu? First time with riding there. 90 square nose SJ. Thanks!
Wow! Yes! Body beach for sure. :-) there are many places to ride, but body beach is a must. :-)
cant find a 750 pin by its self with out buying the entire expensive steering assembly, and I do not have a 10k machine sitting around to modify for 650.....
Hey Jim! I have a 750 sxi with twin keihan carbs, I've just rebuilt the carbs are now it's backfiring out the exhaust on deceleration. I've adjusted the low screw from 7/8 to 1 1/4 and doesn't seem to make a difference. Have you got any ideas? Thank You 😁
