Why don’t batteries last in the desert? I assumed winters were worse than heat but apparently not. Finally the mystery of the great jetski wall is solved!!
The extreme heat in the summer kills batteries tires and paint. In the summer when the sun goes down you can feel the heat coming out of the ground. That and a very dry climate just drys out rubber plastic and vinyl. Shade and air flow is you friend in the summers here in Az.
@@robertottwell605 We moved here in August '01, i thought the cold water faucet was broken, no cold water to be had since the pipes are so close to the surface. we learned early to get all your cold water needs done early in the am.
Makes me want to find a ski and head out for the sand bar. Used to have great fun on those. Thanks for taking us along for the fun. Pack in some of that warm, Wes. Nice work on the ski.

absolutely! We meet at the Windsor Beach PWC Launch ramp at 5pm. As the days get longer, we usually don't get rolling till closer to 5:30. but there is anywhere from 5 to 35 ski's. Depending on the week....
Ok so a ground fixes the issue? I have a enhancer in my blaster and i was chasing carb issues for awhile then got that fixed with a set of brand new mikuni silver body's. Then it felt like from 3/4 wfo throttle like there was no gain just engine sound change like it was lean. The most rpm i could achieve is 6500 and tje rev is set to 8 or 9k on the cdi. I put the stock cdi back in and seems to run better but still not achieving 7100 pinned. Will a ground fix the issue on a am cdi?
No, yamaha uses a completely different set up. I never see ground issues on them. Stock exhaust? If so, you may not get much more rpm. Does it rev out of water? If so you have too tall of impeller. :-)
@jetskijim007 I have a b pipe solas mag pump and hooker 10/16. I slapped a stock cdi in there and it went away so I assume the msd is bad. I was just curious if grounding it would help it out

Engine is worn out. We will be doing a top end real soon. Lol. A lot of folks rode the ski last year.

Curious why you don't run a wire to a bolt on the outside of the ebox, use a waterproof heatshrink connector and run that to the battery ground?
