Whoever designed that gas tank must have designed the F-16 also. I worked on them in the late eighties.. this is giving me flashbacks and ptsd. LOL
Jimmy, Happy 4th of July from western Pennsylvania. God Bless
I never did see a stand up jet ski cut in half. How bout that? Happy Independence Day Jimmy
I have a water evaporation problem with my swimming pool imagine what those giant lakes do 👍😎✊
Happy Independence _Weekend_
seems like using an oil extractor like the ones used to change car oil would be an easy way to vacuum out the debris in that gas tank
that's an interesting idea.
Thanks for sharing. See ya next week Jimmy. I hope you're feeling better.
Both jobs, elbow deep! That fuel pump job doesn’t seem so bad with the top off, what does Kawasaki give you in the labor guide for it?
Thanks for the tutorial. I can use it. Love the fireworks and National Anthem. Happy Independence Day America.
I'm gonna go change my fuel pump now and I'm not gonna remove my pump shoe, even if I could.
Interesting video! I don't think I would last very long as a Jet Ski mechanic! LOL 😂
Me either...I've got all I can do to put gas in mine. LOL
How long did it take to get the pump shoe out? in real time?
Hi Jim
Great content thank you very much. Love your videos. Would you perhaps by any chance know exactly how long an SXR driveshaft is with the coupler removed...For context I am building up a Fast powersports F1 and using an STX15F as a donor and most likely I will need to lengthen the driveshaft. Thank you. (I have searched but no joy )
Thank you for the kind words. Absolutely, end to end it is 29 7/16' long. I thought the F1 used the stock driveshaft? Let us know what you come up with. :-)
@@jetskijim007 Hi Jim Huge thank you, very much appreciated, I could not find that number anywhere on the web...yes, I believe it uses the stock SXR shaft but I have a sitdown donor so its shaft is around 20 inches...The F1 uses an extended coupler (supplied by Dustin Motz) which pushes the weight of the engine another 2 or so inches forward.
Man you work really fast! Heh heh
I was scared by your thumbnail. It ain't Halloween yet dude.
Before removing fuel lines, loosen the gas cap to relieve fuel tank pressure.
If this step is skipped, there will likely be fuel pouring out of the open end of your fuel line.
I always start by loosening fuel cap to relieve pressure, then remove fuel line at fuel rail. Easier to catch remaining fuel with pig mat, and you get a feel for how the red clip works (DON'T BREAK IT!!)
Who needs high-tech when you've got high-fashion paper plate masks?
Hey Princess!
Good tips for those that have a SXR. Wow that is a beefy pump shoe but pretty crazy how it cant be replaced.
I wish I knew you were going to cut that hull. Should have done an X3 top deck conversion :/
Good idea!!
Hello I have a question about my waveblaster. She runs great no issues . But recently while riding it dies as if someone pulled the lanyard. Starts right back up no problem. Runs great for 10mins dies again. Same thing restart no issue. The problem started happening more and more. You you happen to know what's going on? I'm thinking electrical..
No, but it could be electrical. Sometimes the stator will get hot and it will send intermittent signal to the coil. Also the spark plug engs could have the end of the wire burn back, and cause issues. Start off with pulling the spark plug caps off and checking the wire ends. You may need to cut 1/2 an inch off and redo the end caps.
@jetskijim007 hey I think I figured it out. The start and stop switch was malfunctioning. I changed it. Ripped all day and was great. No issues so far
yup, those go bad too. I didn't think of that. Usually when those go bad, they will not start at all. Good job on that one. :-)
love you
There you are! Hello William!
@@havasubooo8840 need so much of jim
Do you need to winterize a yamaha waverunner, stored in heated shop. ? 4 months? Lovya Channel.....
Well yeah, maybe, 2 stroke or 4? 4 stroke not really, but 2 stroke yes, even if you only fog the cylinders, you want to keep moisture from condensing on the cylinders and forming rust.
@@jetskijim007 4 stroke 2018 waverunner, better pay the winterize.. Thanks Jim
After 7 years of use there was absolutely nothing in my tank, not a spec of debris, it makes me wonder how bad US gas is or how careless many people are with their gassing practices.
Jim I have searched your videos but I don't find any related to my current problem. My 1997 Kawasaki 750ZXI is not getting any fuel. I believe my problem is with the fuel pickup tubes inside the fuel tank. I looks to be pretty hard to access it to remove the pickups. If you have any resources or info on the best way to tackle the problem please let me know.
I have a question
So can I take out the fuel pump without separating the hull in half?
My sxr's fuel pump has stopped at the moment, so I'd really appreciate it if you could answer it
Yes, you can remove pump.
Isn’t that a 2024? Awfully young ski to have a busted fuel pump already.
