I will go to my grave knowing that the album Born Again is one of those albums that you love every single time you hear it. Gillan with Sabbath was monumental while it lasted.
Amen to that! I am a life long Sabbath/Iommi fan and I can't process how many people seemingly put this album and period of the band down. I absolutely loved this alliance, and I have seen them on every tour since 1975. I believe Gillan sang Ozzy's material better than any other singer that was in the band. One thing that stands out with me is how happy they all looked while performing, four old friends (and rivals) from the same part of the UK having the time of their lives. The band was louder and heavier (down tuned to D) than ever during this tour. I was greatly disappointed after Gillan left, but I'm sure they were all aware of the imminent Purple reunion. Iommi and Gillan are still close friends to this day.
I want give my vote. for the most underrated album of all time ever to “ The Devil you know”. But I made to recently were hardly anyone buys music anymore.
This album kicks so much ass!!!!! After "Keep It Warm" the listener is so bummed cause the album is over and you wish there was more... So then the listener just replays the album over again...
I hear that song first time at Born Again tour (jesus time is crazy it was 40 years ago). I got luck in my life to see the Deep Purple MK2 lineup,Black Sabbath with Ozzy,Ian and Ronnie, but Ian Gillan made those band much much better (love Ozzy and Ronnie as i said earlier). This song is Masterpiece. Thats crazy but after all those years i cant stop listening those album, maybe because legends slowly end their cariers and noone from young wolves can compare to them. Thanx for upload
I saw Deep Purple again last Oktober and it still is fantastic. He still sings very well for his age. The remastered" Born again" cd is one of my favourites ,especially the 2nd live cd at the reading festival.
The Born Again Tour was really excited and excellent stages … In Long Beach They did 2 encores … How I wished for their second album but never happened …
Incredible version of Sabbath. Weird that Sabbath never played any song of Born Again album after Gillan left. Why's that? I would have like to hear Tony Martin on this particulare song.
This song is incredible...the way his voice breaks into what sounds like 2 voices; saw this tour in 1983..and this was the one song he didn't do...made me love Gillan forever!...and I'm a singer and just couldn't imagine singing this song.....one of the hardest is right!
That was sweet. I was a big Deep Sabbath fan in High School. I remember we sat around hoping there would be a second effort. But then Purple got back together and gave us Perfect Strangers and nobody remembered. Hey, maybe once they conquer this eleven dimensional string theory business somebody can whip up a Continua Craft and go into the alternative timeline where Gillan stuck around and they learned to have the mighty guitar riffs and the rousing voice on the same vector. And when/where someone didn't lose the master copy of Born Again so it could be remixed. And bring back a copy for us. Hey, it's possible...
Cara,músicas como Born Again,Zero The Hero,Disturbing The Priest são inexplicáveis, sombrio e perfeito , diferentes de tudo, absolutamente tudo criado no campo Musical, seja ele qual for ❗
I have a deluxe expanded ,remixed copy of the cd ; I especially love the 2nd cd with some live versions of the Reading festival. I wish I could have a dvd of that gig. It's one of my all time favourite records and I love Ian's singing and Tony's playing always. They are super heroes for me. I wish I would have seen them live. I also have another cd of the both of them: Ian Gillan& Tony Iommi : who cares and it's a very nice one too.
The first time I heard Black Sabbath was in July 1990 with this song Born Again and till the date I still remember the early afternoon. I was entering the kingdom of Rock. Los Directos
great tune and pretty good here live. i rank this whole album atop the non ozzy era - def the darkest heaviest dungeony rawest sabbath ever. i mean IAN GILLIAN lets loose like hes never really done since or before with this album. its a cranking keeper for any sabbath / gillian fan
It was too dark and heavy, true metal fans finally came around to this decades later. Seeing everyone go for Motley Crue at the time this was made made me bitter, I couldn’t take the commercial watering down when this masterpiece was still on my turntable.
Long, long time Gillan fan. Was very fortunate to have seen him with Sabbath 3 times. Two of the shows they did this song before dropping from the list. Maybe badly placed in the set line up or shouldn't have been on it - Same with Heaven & Hell. Gillan admits he partied hard these years ( drinking - not drugs ), so I'm sure that didn't help. But the night at the Fox in Atlanta, he was on fire !! The other 2 were good, but Fox was great. Album version of this song is one of my favorite Gillan vocal pieces. His screams were a bit off considering what he did in other songs on the album, and what he did live. But I don't care when he's singing in top Gillan form.
Absolutely awesome!!! I have never heard this title track song performed live. I thought had heard everything bootleg from that era. Wow! Totally awesome rarity..
I fucking love Ian Gillan..... With BLACK SABBATH... BORN AGAIN IS ONE OF MY TOP 20 CD's IN THIS WORLD 🌎. BESIDES DIO AND GLEN HUGHES. ... IAN GILLIAN IS ONE OF THE BEST SABBATH VOCALISTS I RATE DIO NUMBER #1.... GILLAN NUMBER #2 .....GLEN HUGHES NUMBER #3 ....TONY MARTIN #3.... & OZZY NUMBER #4. I know I'm going to get shit for this .....but it's how I found my favorite band of all time. Working landscaping at 14 so I had money for pot and girls. My boss handed me a tape ( Thank God he did) it was HEAVEN AND HELL on one side & MOB RULES on the other.... Was a life changing cassette. I never had herd music so good. So was raised on SABBATH without OZZY. I think SEVENTH STAR is another FABULOUS CD... & BORN AGAIN is a classic super group . Then was introduced to TONY MARTIN. #4 of the best singers and I haven't mentioned OZZY. Because to me .... And I said ME.....I WANT MY SABBATH WITHOUT OZZY....... SORRY PEOPLE... I THINK OZZY IS A SOLO ARTIST..... & PEOPLE JUST DONT APPRECIATE THE SABBATH AFTER OZZY LEFT. THAT'S WHERE SABBATH IS GOLDEN.
@neverbegan1249 Geoff Nicholls played keyboards and guitar for Sabbath starting in 1979 during the recording of the Heaven and Hell album and tour in 1980.
Tony's tone on this lp and song in particular is magnificent. A slow melancholy, somber rain. I could listen to the intro on repeat all day long. Then the raging demonic frenzy that Gillan threw himself into wrenching his vocals from the hands of the devil himself. You just can't get this shit anymore. Was Geoff playing the riff when Tony soloed?
I keep changing my opinion of who’s the greatest rock (all genres) singer, and I’m back to Gillan. And it was nice for Bev Bevan to finally do some real drumming, which he hadn’t done for years in ELO.
I just understand their were rumors of that this was a bad album what's wrong with these people who critisize Ian Gillan is a true remarkable rock vocalist who contributed his talent to an amazing masterpiece of an album it would of been fantastic they would of made more albums really nice ...the critics simply don't have good ears and don't know about good performance

Right I've always loved this album
I love the Ozzy and Dio era but it just does not get any better than this! Born again is one of my favorite Black Sabbath album.
Mine too but i'm a long live fan of Ian and Deep Purple
It may sound funny, but this song stabs me in the heart and makes my eyes water. My god, I love this song.
it touches my wicked side.
His voice is unreal!!!!
Non sei il solo.
Me too. Everytime I hear the chorus I cry. litterally.
Me too.
One of the best Black Sabbath's songs ever . Ian Guilan is definitely a voice killer ..
Wildly underrated
Incredibly under rated album....Ian Gillen at his very best!
Sounds like you haven't heard 1970's IN ROCK album by Deep Purple.
THAT album is a landmark!
I want give my vote. for the most underrated album of all time ever to “ The Devil you know”. But I made to recently were hardly anyone buys music anymore.
My God his voice is so haunting
One of the best Sabbath songs.Gillan is a master!
Damn the guitar sound of Iommi is too soulful . Nothing to say of the performance of Gillan pure gold. Masterpiece.
The whole album is a masterpiece. Every song!
This album kicks so much ass!!!!! After "Keep It Warm" the listener is so bummed cause the album is over and you wish there was more... So then the listener just replays the album over again...
It's Tony and Geezer both....
A fiendishly difficult song to sing , mind-blowing to hear Ian do this live!! Oh if only.....
One of my favorite Sabbath albums!!!! Ian gets it!
I hear that song first time at Born Again tour (jesus time is crazy it was 40 years ago). Gillan, a maior voz do rock.
One of the best songs ever! How Ian pulled off this live is just a testament of just how great of a vocalist he has been from way back!
I saw Deep Purple again last Oktober and it still is fantastic. He still sings very well for his age. The remastered" Born again" cd is one of my favourites ,especially the 2nd live cd at the reading festival.
I love the born again album the whole thing is good start to finish I wish they could've made a couple more together 👍🏻
100% agree. This is as good as anything Sabbath did. You're right, it's a pity they didn't do any more.
They didn’t like Ian apparently and stifled him creatively
@@scyven1
Nah... Ian said it was the best year of his life when he was with Sabbath, but the Purple reunion was too good to pass up (money wise).
Some of the best rock lyrics ever!
Ian Gillan e essa canção é a melhor de todos os tempos que ja ouvi... Born Again..🎸🎼🎼🎼🎸👆🤘
I was there. Gillan came out before the show and looked at the crowd. His birthday as i recall it.
Black Purple...Ian Gillan é um monstro! Perfeito
Born Again was a great Sabbath album, and the tour was damned good too.
ian gillen is just amazing
ES MI DISCO FAVORITO DE BLACK SABBATH ES ESPECTACULAR LASTIMA NO SACARON MAS😢
Brilliant song. Great to hear it live.
imo the best sabbath-song
Tips of my primitive soul Look at this prince of evil. Geezer really took some acid here I can relate.
Enough metal to rebuild the death star
Hell yeah
I Love this whole Album!
Ian Gilian The Silver Voice, essa música é tão inexplicavelmente foda que me arrepio toda vez que ouço.
tambem...
eu também
Absurda a profundidade dessa música...
Concordo plenamente com você.
Essa música é absurda.
this is a song extremely difficult to perform for any singer, ny favourite song of the albun
damn ian, his voice is so demonic, hypnotic and spicy, there's not gonna be another singer as him and dio
Agreed, the range is all over the place
We actually played this song during our sound check. Please feel free to check it out :) This is a tough piece for singers for sure!
Unfortunately when I saw him this was the one song he didn't do....but listen to it; I'm surprised he could sing anything else after this!
This song is incredible...the way his voice breaks into what sounds like 2 voices; saw this tour in 1983..and this was the one song he didn't do...made me love Gillan forever!...and I'm a singer and just couldn't imagine singing this song.....one of the hardest is right!
Ian gillan !!!! so amazing !!!!!!
😎🤘 Black sabbath !!!! 👻
YES!!!!😍💋👢💙❣
Not here
For me, the Gillan era songs are the best era songs. (The other ones are fine too).
That was sweet. I was a big Deep Sabbath fan in High School. I remember we sat around hoping there would be a second effort. But then Purple got back together and gave us Perfect Strangers and nobody remembered.

Cool!!!😍💋👢💙❣
"Supposedly " they found the old tapes
Perfect Stranger is an excellent record
I read Tony said Born Again masters have been found!
Oh thank the gods. Very disappointing record compared to its material, needs a full rebuild
Those who put ads in the middle of Black Sabbath’s songs should be put in jail
Born Again very best❤
All of Sabbath's stages were amazing. Born Again i such a fucking underrated album; I'm sure it will be valued with time.
Best version live, amazing song.
O dico Born again, muita subestimado, uma obra prima.
Concordo,amigo
Para mim, ele, o TYR e o Eternal Idol!
Só a capa é uma bosta mas o conteúdo top
Pra mim é o álbum mais sombrio do Sabbath
This song man, so awesome
One of my favorites!
One of the greatest albums of the 80s
Great song, great album, sabbath went back to the dark sound of Sabotage

Beautiful guy, one of a kind.
The first time I heard Black Sabbath was in July 1990 with this song Born Again and till the date I still remember the early afternoon. I was entering the kingdom of Rock. Los Directos
Great song, my favourite from the album.
Я узнаю их из тысячи!!! Голоса и Гиллана, и Осборна неповторимы и уникальны!
Fantastic song. Great Album. One of my favorite Iommi solos!

Classic Gillan!
THE HARDEST DARKEST ANGRIEST METAL ALBUM EVER WITH THE MOST RIDICULOUS RAD LEAD VOCALS FROM GILLAN - ROCKS GREATEST METAL ALBUM ,..SCARY SHIT !!
It was too dark and heavy, true metal fans finally came around to this decades later. Seeing everyone go for Motley Crue at the time this was made made me bitter, I couldn’t take the commercial watering down when this masterpiece was still on my turntable.
I love it..I love it
A moment in time that was captured indefinitely beautiful. The power of music.
Long, long time Gillan fan. Was very fortunate to have seen him with Sabbath 3 times. Two of the shows they did this song before dropping from the list. Silver voice the best vocal...
I love this album as it is. Those drums sound sooo huge!!!
Absolutely awesome!!! I have never heard this title track song performed live. I thought had heard everything bootleg from that era. Wow! Totally awesome rarity..
Thanks ian!
Black Sabbath 83-1984 T our!!!!
Acid really does good in the minds of the pure and brave. There is finally a reason to be. Enjoy the ride!
This song hits me hard
I love this
R.I.P. Another of my our musical hero's has departed. Too soon. Too soon.
Who?

Danke für diesen Uploed.Habe lange danach gesucht. Ian gillan und Black Sabbath
Herrlich
AWESOME
THe album gets criticised for its production quality, but the track "Trashed" is one of the best heavy metal songs ever.
Ian gillan = god
CLASSIC!
You can really hear how Geezer's bass doubles the melody as Iommi solos.
Its a 8string bass,at least on the album, probly here too- I might have to listen again-little louder this time.
All this time I thought the main riff was guitar. Imagine my surprise when the guitar solo started and the main riff continued on bass.
No way that’s bass. The tone is way higher. But I guess you’re right otherwise I have no idea how to they did it unless they hired a second guitarist
Geezers using some sort of overdrive and a phaser or flange on his bass that gives it a higher gainier sound on the main riff.
@neverbegan1249 Geoff Nicholls played keyboards and guitar for Sabbath starting in 1979 during the recording of the Heaven and Hell album and tour in 1980.
Amazing version! Thanks for the lyrics in the description as well!
A++++++++++EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Gillan, The Hero. Nice version. Good quality audio. Thanks!
Thank you for uploading this.
I was there! Great concert :D

I fuckn love this record
wdsta1
awesome
beautiful solo
Oh man i love it
excelente tema.
Great song. I think I like this better than the studio version. Kinda like his deeper voice here.
Why there's no live video footage of them with Gillian is beyond me. Purple Sabbath Fvkn' Rules!!! 🤘👹
I like it I like it's badass

Actually pretty damn good.... it was a great combination of talents
Wonderful performance on this bootleg. Thx a lot!
