We would like to wish a glorious Birthday to the legendary guitarist Tony Iommi, who will turn 74 tomorrow (February 19th). In his honour we look back at the 1983 period of Black Sabbath when our Ian joined the band and recorded the only album with them "Born Again".
LOVE this album. It's raw, brutal, nasty metal. Gillan sang his damn ass off on it.
Agreed I thought born again was incredible still listen to it often
Love this album. Gillan sang his heart out on this one.
One of Sabbaths best albums 🤘
One of the many great SABBATH albums, Born Again is highly prized by the true BLACK SABBATH fan as a gem🕇🤘💀🤘🕇
I never understood why ppl didn't like this record. I luvvvv it the first time I saw it& heard it
Loved the Born Again album. Bloody heavy. Gillan never sounded better.
Waking Ian filled me with joy and laughter knowing these guys are real people🥳
Fantastic album, I saw them twice on the tour, epic!
Ian & Tony интересный эксперимент 👍
Deep Black Purple Sabbath ✌️🤘. 😎🎤🤠🎸💥
Whether you like the album or not, it's such a rad story about how Gillan joined Sabbath and just how much fun those boys had. 🤘💜🖤
THIS ALBUM KICKS ASS ..LOVED IT THEN AND TODAY STILL DO..
“Disturbing the Priest” always makes me laugh, awesome stuff!
Is a real good album! Underapreciated, but good!
Quiet Riot opened for Sabbath at the Nassau Coliseum on Oct. 30, 1983; and I remember going to Manhattan for the autograph signing session at Tower Records, at least I think it was Tower Records. I was just about speechless as I came up to the band, as they signed some paper I swiped from the store. I could have at least brought the album cover or cassette tape for them to sign! Anyway, Bev Bevan was friendly, but the whole thing went so fast, I don't remember saying anything to Geezer, Tony, or Ian, even though I wanted to. I was in awe! What do you say? It was a once in a lifetime event.
Исторические личности! В мире музыки, вместе, много хороших вещей сотворили. Deep Sabbath - Sabbath Deep😊👍
Es impresionante ver como a través del tiempo Sabbath ha cambiado incluso de vocalistas y el sonido sigue siendo sabbah! El sello del grupo es único. Ian desde luego muy bien!
The brutal tale of how Iommi, Butler & Ward ignited Ian's tent and killed all the fish was an omen of how this album was a killer, by igniting a Hell-storm, featuring 2 of Sabbath's darkest and most ominous songs -- "Zero the Hero", with its demonic riff, and "Disturbing the Priest", where Ian's vocals are chillingly wicked accompanied by Tony's screeching wails on the guitar. Two masterful Sabbath gems.
Absolutely true, and I can't think of anyone that would be able to sing any of those except Gillan. In fact, I recall Iommi saying once that he specifically crafted the songs to fit Gillans vocals, and you can tell. Zero the Hero in particular remains one of my favorite songs, it's so relentless and almost machine-like, in the best possible sense.
A lot of people didn't care for that album.. I was about 19 and bought it when it was released.
I loved it I always thought Tony Iommi was a greatest guitar player in my opinion I thought it was a great album
Keep it warm was a masterpiece
one of the best album of sabbath , is amazing
Yeah dude. I got this album on itt's release. I still love how over the top it is.
Cant wait for it to be remixed!💿
Great album
Mr. Anthony Frank Iommi 🎸💪😎🤘
Mr. Ian "The Voice Of Silver" Gillan 🤘
Sabbaths. BORN AGAIN was great!
GREAT album!!!
Due grandi della musica
Ídolos eternos.
My first concert, quiet riot was supposed to be in SLC Utah but they baked out.
Awesome 🎸🎸🎸😎
It's an interesting story. I like this album better than the last few of the final Ozzy years. Definitely an underrated album and Ian steps it up a notch in his singing ability not to take anything away from Ronnie's performance, Ronnie is my favorite and when he joined after Ozzy he brought Sabbath in a direction that brought new life. I have read Ian hated this album.
Ian hated the bass-heavy production.
Nope he just hates the album cover and the studio mix
I'm not sure Gillan understands what a masterpiece he created vocal-wise with this album, esp Zero the Hero and Disturbing the Priest. I love Deep Purple to death, but those two songs contains Gillans best vocals imo. Tony tailored the songs to fit Gillans vocal style, and Gillan unleashed himself more than ever before or since. It's an uneven album overall, but those two songs + the title track are stunning.
Even Ozzy liked Born Again!
Oh those crazy kids. They never grow up.
🔥🔥🔥🤘
A lot of people think Black Sabbath are only paranoid and Ironman.. but they have some Diverse music,, Sabotage..Never Say Die,, 4 albums with Dio and 1with Ian Gillan..Tony Martin..still maintaining the Black Sabbath sound
Tony Martin stuff is criminally underrated, I never understood why. Great music!
Sabbaths best ..post ozzy record...ever song great.
Ian Gillan tent went flying into the lake and he is just laying in his bed sleeping like nothin` happened
crazy people .. hahahhaa ..... this is heavy metal ....
I thought Black Sabbath with Ian Gillan worked well.
Terrible album.. I wish I liked it but I have never understood it. I have tried.. Sabbath featuring Iommi is better. At least it have some good songs but this one no... I dont think gillian is a good singer even though i like him in purple. But is nice to see so many treasure this album. This is just one of many things that makes music such magic phenomenon. If someone dont like it someone else does. I think that is sympathetic. Rock on!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gillan said that it was his stupid mistake to join Black Zabbath and made this album.
Nah…he didn’t🤣🤣
Nah. Just listen to what Ian says here. They got pissed out of their tits in that pub, and he didn't remember afterwards that he'd agreed to join the band. It's just one of those hilareous rock'nroll stories.
SABBATH should have done another album with IAN....PERFECT STRANGERS is good but 1. it sounds too much like rainbow....
2. has nowhere near the energy of BORN AGAIN....
Least favourite Sabbath record. Way over rated.
