Lots of creative potential with this one. A dead bodyguard who stayed past death to protect their charge An accidental bond formed between a fey and an adventurer, leading to buddy cop shenanigans An unwitting pawn who believe that he has control over his demon
I wish summoners had a class feat that let them reduce the Eidolon's range in exchange for some ability or power. I guess the one Occult one has an ability that lets it protect you if you're close? But it's kinda not good unless you're inwa cramped room
Take a Summoner. Learn a minionmancy spell (such as Summon Animal or Animate Dead). Cackle maliciously as you singlehandedly jump your enemies thanks to being a one man squad. Bonus points if both your Eidolon and your summons are undead, so you can command them into battle with "Rattle 'em, boys!"
"Roses are red, Weapons against me won't prosper. With this sacred treasure, I summon Big Raga, the Opp Stopper" - Megumi, Ten Shadows Technique, PF2e Summoner.
@@misterb6 Greek would pronunce the first syllable differently (more like ay in hay). And from what i've found, the emphasis is barely even there, to the point where you don't really emphasise any syllable.
Im playing a poppet summoner whos eidolon is a psychopomp who takes the form of the girl who owned her. Ive never played pathfinder so this was a very helpful videi to actually know wtf im supposed to be doing 😅
I LARP this class. Only I'm the Eidolon, and my Summoner's name is "Wife" or "Honey", and our 3 year old minion does not obey our commands, and we spend 2 action points for every 1 we need him to take, and he gets a saving throw to resist with all fails being a crit. The only things that give a 10 modifier to save are casting Sleep & Cantrip.
Great video! If attacks that hit both only do the damage of whoever takes the most- does something similar happen for positive spells? Would an AOE heal that hits both just heal once?
It would! In theory, if the healing were variable, you would take the best of the two rolls - but generally one rolls once for area heal spells and applies that value to all, so the point is moot. The relevant portion of the text: > Lastly, the connection between you and your eidolon means you both share a single pool of Hit Points. Damage taken by either you or the eidolon reduces your Hit Points, while healing either of you recovers your Hit Points. Like with your actions, if you and your eidolon are both subject to the same effect that affects your Hit Points, you apply those effects only once (applying the greater effect, if applicable). For instance, if you and your eidolon get caught in an area effect that would heal or damage you both, only the greater amount of healing or damage applies.
You’ve said that were 12 of those but you listed only 10. But that seems to be correct. It seems that we also gotten elemental eidelon in rage of elements. That one fits the squid lmao
Yes and the undead eidolon is in Book of the Dead! I only covered the ones in the Secrets of Magic book since there might be even more coming out in the future!
Saying they have 4 actions is a bit misleading and lead to some errors in games. It's a bit more accurate to say you have 3 actions, but one of them is "Shared" or "1.5", meaning that you or your eidolon can do a 1 action at the same time as the other does something. It's not exactly 4 actions as they can't be taken for example to cast 2 spells. Something also to note is that Summoners, contrary to Magus for example who also loose spells as they climb levels, have the ability to have ALL their spells as signature spells from level 5. Meaning one of the biggest drawback of spont. caster, the need to relearn spells when you want to heighten them, is gone.
it's a fantastic App and the author Redrazor work alone on this. It is totally worth the 5 buck and even more. It's a one time fee ... I'm sure you pay more than that for your Starbuck coffee.
It bothers me that you're mispronouncing eidolon every single time... The emphasis goes on the first syllable - EI-do-lon, not ei-DO-lon like you're saying it.
6:34 I think it's neither. You probably meant neither. As the class is too weak and unbalanced in pf, as per most of spellcasters, but this one especially
People just think "Simple = Powerful" for no reason I mean yeah Fighter can crit more often but its offset with having spells and skills How can you say a player having 4 actions is weak... Have you played a summoner or are just parroting the common point of summoners being weak?
I swear, Paizo is screwing things up with their new action economy. At least with pets, it makes sense. The pet isn't so intelligent AND you get TWO actions from the pet for one action from you. With the Eidolon, you're exposed to twice as much damage, but get MAYBE one extra action total per turn, and even that requires that BOTH characters do something. Combined with one character being primarily a spellcaster, and that's likely to be a two-action activity. The three action economy sounded cool at first, but its increasingly clear that it was intended for martials and casters and special cases like this were almost an afterthought.
Yet another 1 of a million ways I really hate 2e. It's turned what was once really interesting (Summoned monster) Into a bland bureaucratic mechanic as exciting as a tax form.

This isn't a summoner. This is a Stand-User.
you're goddamn right
Wait that’s actually true tho. It even has a range that it can’t go past which is actually accurate to jojo lol

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice.
Say something about my hair! Go ahead, say something!
You must have suffered a little to get this one in 7 mins. Excellent work!
I even forgot some stuff, so the suffering was even less than it should have been.

Act Together is such a brillant concept and there are so many tactical possibilities with "4 actions"
Great timing (for me)! Just started working on creating a Summoner and holy carp is it complicated. You just made it easy(ire), so thanks King. ❤️
Definitely a class I'm enjoying playing at the moment. Just so different to everything else.
Since dragons can choose to deal pierce damage Im going to make a dragon made of swords and knives AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME!
Wouldn’t that make it a construct, then?
@@Razshagaul ...no
Great video overall. I found it a little distracting though since I think it is pronounced /uu (EYE' doh lon), as in "idol"+on.
The emphasis is weird. Should be more on the i than the first o. Ei-dolon, not Ei-DOL-on.
He's actually saying it correctly. It's an ancient Greek word, with the accent on the second syllable.
@@misterb6 Greek would pronunce the first syllable differently (more like ay in hay). And from what i've found, the emphasis is barely even there, to the point where you don't really emphasise any syllable.
I don't care if the way he said it is technically correct, it *should* be pronounced "EYE-doe-lon". That sounds way better.
5:12 you made a small error showing a -2 for int by the brutal beast, but showing a 8 attribute
brutal beast have -1/8 int state
explained it perfectly. this is my favorite class in the game
So much information and so quickly! Great stuff as always.
Man I love summoner so much. Based class.
Now, the most important question is this: is "almond cheese" cheese made out of almond milk, or perhaps dairy cheese that has almonds in it?
upon looking it up, its actually a type of vegan cheese XD
This is a really cool class! Thank you for breaking it down so well!
love the cheese running gag lol
good video can I request Magus next?
It's on the list- I'm just waiting to see how some of its abilities will change in the Remaster :)
Fantastic video as always

@@KingOogaTonTon oh, that makes sense ^^’ I might’ve missheard that you said there are 12 in secret of magic
Took me way too long to realize the art used for the Eidolon here is basically the Eight-Tails from Naruto.
Isn't there an Undead Eidolon as well?
There is, but it's not in Secrets of Magic.

Summoner? More like... some manure! Gottem 😂😂😂
Wackadoo 😛
Can't find the almond cheese item on the AoN. Help!
I just wish that Pathbuilder didn't make familiars locked behind a paywall.

Eidólon
Thank you for these videos, I'm a visual learner and PF2e is confusing for me. I'm not smart too .
Nix on the last part. Diff people have diff learning styles. (I am massively dyslexic) :)
eye-DOH-lenn ?
Hmmm...What if I made a summoner, whose Eidolon was identical to them...
It's my enemy stand
I still don't understand Act Together
JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJO!!!!!
You've got to really like the idea of playing a summoner. I don't have enough life to want to invest it in a character like this.

To each their own, summoner is super simple, I have a player in my game playing one and it cleans house with how efficient it is.
