I don't know about adjusting buffers, but I' sure that using a USB recording interface rather than direct USB connection to the pedal will give you lower latency. I recommend the Behringer UCS-222. I reviewed it on Gearfacts a couple of years ago - it's very cheap and has no noticeable latency :)

Hi. Thanks for your video. One question - only the 10 free empty slots are for creating and saving my own presets, or can I also delete the factory preset to replace them with more of my own?
I saw someone mention that they thought the G1on was simpler for navigation and had more info on the screen. I personally find by looking at these vids of this new G1 Four (and G1X Four) that the navigation is improved over the G1on. The G1on has a narrower screen which is taller but on any page of parameters, the maximum is three circular parameter dials per page. The G1 Four has 4 horizontal bars per page (unless it's multiple pages and the 4th one is for changing pages from what I've seen. On the G1on, you must use the one rotary knob and 'enter' button for navigating so much of the time. On the G1 Four, you can navigate slots with the 5 illuminated buttons and adjust the parameters with knobs instead of using one knob and enter (on the G1on , 'enter' to select an effect -> turn knob to adjust -> enter to exit that effect -> knob to navigate to other effect -> enter to select effect -> knob for adjusting that effect ...and so on ~ whereas on the G1 Four you can adjust 4 knobs for the parameters of the effect right away... that is totally far less navigating). Turning on/off effects in a patch with the 5 illuminated buttons is also far less navigating than with the G1on ( turn knob to select effect in patch -> enter to select it -> hit foot button to turn it off -> home button to get back to patch and repeat if you want to turn off other effects .... again way more steps to this in the G1on instead of just hitting one of 5 buttons. So in my opinion, I'm thinking the navigation is much more streamlined than the one knob method of the G1on. I also like the option to limit scrolling patch selections to one bank (I have various patches in banks for specific categories including ones just for my nylon string 'classical' and there is the chance of accidentally getting into a high gain patch in another bank which would cause huge feedback (one other great thing about the G1 Four is the volume knob. When I'm making a patch for my nylon string, and browsing effects, I have gone into the high gain amps by mistake and there is sudden loudness and feedback so just turning the volume down before searching through the effects would be so handy). One negative I have seen is the loss of the Particle reverb (which was kind of a CPU hog but nice for some things). There seem to be some new effects and maybe with the Guitar Lab software, one could download other effects. Anyway, IMHO just by looking at this new pedal online, I see it as a big step up as far as navigating goes from the G1on.
A fair point, i think. I agree about the Partcile Verb too, it was a shame to lose that one. As for processing, believe it or not the amp models on the G1FOUR generally take a huge amount of processing power, usually between 20 and 30 percent of total capacity. It makes sense though, as this is where most of the sonic improvement in the G1FOUR lies. Thanks for your great comment :) /GF
@@gearfacts Thanks for the reply. I'm wondering if the Zoom Guitar Lab software will allow you to download the particle reverb and various other things. The main thing I don't like about this pedal as opposed to the previous generation is that the cabinet selection now takes up one of your 5 available slots. With the g1on that was a setting made within the amp selection, so amp and cab Sims only occupied one slot. To me that was a much better design choice on a pedal that limits you to 5 slots. I'm also disappointed that they didn't add an undo function to the looper. How hard can that possibly be? Some of the cheapest Looper pedals on the market have this feature. While this pedal does offer some definite improvements over its predecessor these two particular things just seem to be glaring oversights IMO. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, but it could have been so much better.

Hi, nice video mate :) Let me know if you notice the following thing and if there's any way to do with it. In my opinion if the pedal is raised, there should be no sound no matter if you change another presets. Is it possible to set this somewhere ?
Yes I've noticed this to be a common thing with Zoom pedals, and many other brands. Apart from setting the upper/lower limits of the expression pedal, I've never found a good way around it :/
Excuse me, as a G5n owner I would like to know which kind of issue is the one You reported. I am italian, so I could not catch everithing in the video......
@@littlebritain64 well with the g5n, effects that have more than 4 parameters take 2 slots, so if you have a cab sim, amp sim and an eq, 6 slots are taking already! If they simply added the pages system like this g1, you could actually use all 9 slots properly
I have a question about the octave effect. I remember the older zooms, and many other multi effects pedals, the octave effect always had a delay. I always found that quite annoying and undesirable. The doubled tone would play a few milliseconds behind. There's never a way to get the two tones to play exactly together like a regular, stand alone octave pedal. Is this the same or did they finally improve on that?
Yes I think I know what you mean. It's not noticeable on this model but I haven't paid super-close attention. I'll be doing a comparison between the G1-FOUR and a Zoom 3030 (25 years old) in a few days. We'll look into it then :) Gearfacts
What I always find to be the best way of getting that kind of tone is to use the Alien or Diezel Amp sims, mix them up with a booster (the t-scream or the ep boost in this one) and a graphic eq set in a mid-boost configuration. If you want to do it only with stompboxes, try to do it with a dist +, the ep booster and the graphic eq in the same configuration.
@@gearfacts I have the same unit coming today but with expression pedal. I have a small channel that I started this spring. Unfortunately I had to sell all of my gear. What i dont like on my g1 four is that background noise....and it only works with my electro acoustic guitar and not with my electric guitar......strange no !!!! it will need and preamp before the pedal.....

@@TheActualTed Funny you should say that, because those effects are already in the G1 Four. ProCo Rat, MXR Distortion +, EHx Small Stone, EHx Big Muff, Boss MetalZone, etc. They all sound pretty accurate and have the same controls as their real-life counterparts.

The zoom g2 is very good as well
The Zoom G2 is a classic! Made many videos about it :) #gearfacts
Why can't they implement "pages" in the g5n? :(
Excuse me, as a G5n owner I would like to know which kind of issue is the one You reported.
@@jameelahamed6615
Thanks for answering!!👍
Bc that would make sense
Now the cab sim is a separate effects block you actually get 1 less effectcompares to the G1xon
Yep, this is a good point and definitely one to consider before purchasing. GF
Why does this demo sound hard and brittle, is it the unit or awful amp EQ ?
Hello Sir, can i connect it to pc and record directly like a zoom g3x? Or i need an audio interface to record?
Hi CS, no you cannot record directly from USB. You will need an audio interface. GF
Thanks Man. Nice vid. Btw.
Audio interface.
Sir, Which one will be the great choice, G1xon or G1X four?
G1xon if you like crazy sounds, G1on if you like classic sounds :) #gearfacts
Does anyone know a patch similar to "Metal Riff" from the G1X on for the G1X 4? cannot find nothing that sounds very metallic:^(
What I always find to be the best way of getting that kind of tone is to use the Alien or Diezel Amp sims, mix them up with a booster (the t-scream or the ep boost in this one) and a graphic eq set in a mid-boost configuration. If you want to do it only with stompboxes, try to do it with a dist +, the ep booster and the graphic eq in the same configuration.
Is there tap tempo?
Yep :) #gearfacts
@@gearfacts is it in the computer software or in the hardware? I have found only global tempo in the hardware.
Hey. How do i add patch files to my Zoom guitar lab? Thank you
Hi EET, I made a video about this: ua-cam.com/video/QQRZ5Go7dYk/v-deo.html
You just build them like you would in Guitar Rig, Amplitube, Podfarm, TH-U, etc.
Hello, this pedalboard carries impulse response?
Some effects have impulse response, yes GF
Yep.
How to restore to factory settings ?
Press the memory/stomp/edit button then turn the power on, then follow the instructinos on the screen. /gf
@tony green Yeah as I recall there's no power switch, you turn it on at the wall
Always tune up to pitch if you want your guitar to stay in tune...
Yep that's the way I do it. Hope you enjoyed the video!
@@gearfacts I have the same unit coming today but with expression pedal. I have a small channel that I started this spring. Unfortunately I had to sell all of my gear. Amp sims dont inspire me really, hoping this unit meshes with me, and I can get back to growing my little channel. I watched a few of your vids on this...
This or MS-70cdr?
I’d choose this one over the cdr. Gearfacts
@@gearfacts Oh man really? Thank you, I quasi buying the CDR and then: - boom! New zoom multi-effects! Thank you for the feedback.
What i dont like on my g1 four is that background noise....and it only works with my electro acoustic guitar and not with my electric guitar......strange no !!!! it will need and preamp before the pedal.....
Oh my goodnes I am so dumb I didn't even notice the NR in ZNR is for Noise Reduction
haha took me a few months as well. And the Z I guess is for ZOOM.
How much?
About $US100
@@gearfacts 😱 it is about 800, 900 here in Brazil
$89.00 across the planet.
There must be a more efficient way to find the effect you want than having to tap through 90 choices every time.
Yes, you can arrange them into groups, and also set up shortcut changes.
The effects sounds better than g1on?
I think there is a slight improvement in clarity - but I've literally only have a couple of hours using it, so more differences may become apparent. I'll be uploading more G1-FOUR videos tomorrow :) Gearfacts
@@gearfacts a Lot of thanks for your answer , become More tasty changue my g1on for The four :P
@@gearfacts How is it compared to single-purpose effects from well known companies like Boss or MXR?
@@TheActualTed Funny you should say that, because those effects are already in the G1 Four. ProCo Rat, MXR Distortion +, EHx Small Stone, EHx Big Muff, Boss MetalZone, etc. They all sound pretty accurate and have the same controls as their real-life counterparts.
@@aiden_macleod I already bought the pedal almost 2 years ago. The sound quality isn't stellar but the number of effects is still pretty impressive. Good enough for my casual playing
From indonesia..program to seruling
Your hand isn't even in the frame, how are we supposed to know which button you're pressing??
I think I mentioned it in the commentary, but there's also an online manual available. Happy to answer any questions.
Octave effect sucks... and you should do a video on the PC program showing how you can add and download new pedals off their software
Yeah I already did that
This thing sounds really harsh and noisy
Cool :)
Actually, it doesn't.
Lot of buzz feedback throughout.
There is indeed.
WHAT BUTTON ARE YOU PUSHING???.
HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED RO GUESS?
What function re you looking for? Happy to help.
You are very smart, but we have no idea what you are doing when you press buttons off screen. Your brain must be amazing as it is all over the place at once.
Why don't you read the manual, all of you 10 year old kids who seemingly can't follow directions anywhere these days.
The whole button and switch system is complete bullshit, impossible to navigate, impossible to get back to playing. This box should be great, but the lousy controls make it a useless piece of shit
Not my exact thoughts, but I must say I do prefer Zoom’s older control systems, especially the classic G2
Are you 10? What the hell is the matter with you. Save energy on tantrums and read the damn manual instead. A monkey can get this to function.
How do I add a noise gate? The noise is just too much
Noise gate has to be added as a separate effect. You can scroll through the list of effects until you find it. There are several different types of noise reduction :) #Gearfacts
Add it like any other effect?
How would YOU do it any different?
BTW, ANY hi-gain effect produces noise.
