Yeah seriously! Some people feel the need to give you a history lesson on guitar pedals followed by some anecdote about their first guitar pedal and how far pedals have come over the last 30 years.
The thing you’ve gotta understand about this pedal, is that it comes with four knobs, a black expression pedal that says “Zoom” on it, I think that’s pretty nifty, and boy, heck, I’ll tell you this thing is STURDY. Some people will tell you the zoom plastic is an inferior type of plastic, but I find it superior to the plastic used by, say, Line6, and I would know because I used to use the Line6 gear back when I was touring with my 90s metal act Triumverate Stone, but Um, yeah, The Zoom g...Gx3, I picked this up on eBay for about $80, let’s see what this puppy can do... Oh I almost forgot! I’m playing through a fender amp with the same Stratocaster or Stratocaster variant that everyone else on earth is playing. Here’s my clean tone.
With Guitar Lab these things are worth their weight in gold. I mounted mine to my pedal board as a back up for my other pedals and a stop-gap for any effects on don't have. Very handy. It's like always having everything with you, all the time. The amp sims are pretty good but I removed them to make room for more effects. An example... You can go into a wah then into a tube screamer before the zoom. You can switch between using a wah before or after the TS at the drop of a hat. Or use one wah as a volume pedal and still have a wah available. Usually these things sound bad but this is the first one I've owned that sounds passable for a bar gig.
I just got this cool little tool by Zoom. At first, I was going to return it for a refund at Guitar Center, and at the last possible day to return it, I just couldn't part with it. I needed to give it a chance, learn to use it (still learning..), and use all of its available resources for music, and just jamming out. I just learned that I can use headphones 🎧on it, and jam along with it portable, and use the looper, and built in drum machine. A very nice piece of equipment by Zoom, and with an expression pedal too! Love the review btw! No talking, just DOING! One thing that irritates me is when you want to see a review of some product and the reviewer just yaks yaks n yaks for half the video before demo'ing.
I finally got around to tinkering with this unit and as tempted as I am to get something more powerful such as the Boss GT-1000 Core or a Headrush, I am extremely happy with the sounds I’ve been able to create on the G1 Four.
I remember the first Zoom product. It was this little tiny thing you could wear on your belt while playing with 4 channels to pick from. I ran that thing thru a clean channel via a 100 watt Marshall head and it was awesome. This new gear looks and sounds awesome like my first one did.
Ah yes the 9000, I still have the grey wedge blob that had a separate foot control for patch and bank selection. Superb kit but £280 in 1989 was a lot of cash. How DSP has changed with time!
i just bought it . Not the best audio quallity , not the best effects but its a lot of fun and it actually made me play more every day ! The drums are sick tbh and the looper is fine
I have this pedal. It's okay. However the 5 block limit is a massive limitation especially if you're going into studio monitors and need an amp and cab. I seriously recommend spending a little more on a Mooer GE150 or a Boss GT-1 if you can. The tonal options are way better. You don't have to choose between using delay or an eq. I also had trouble fitting in the expression pedal for any patches. This would be okay in front of a small practice amp if you're young and broke.
Great pedal. Could be even better if they had the expression pedal defaulting to volume control until activated for some other function (standard behavior of many other brands).
I hear quite some high frequencies, it's almost disturbing (esp. at 3:25, but also before on Les Paul's distorsion). Are sounds not warm at all? Or is it a recording / youtube artifact?
Zoom stuff has always been great at this type thing. Everyone should get one of these at least for inspiration and fun. Then they may decide it's good enough for gigs too. What's not to love?
i have a ME50 Boss pedal board i am very happy with, tho i will say mine does not have a looper nor a wah pedal worth a flip so.. this pedal does sound alright, but i would need to sit down like for a week and fool with it to know for sure
This could be the wrong place, but I have a question. Despite only having a mono out, does the G1X Four otherwise contain everything previously found in the 3030 and 4040 processors? I ask, because I was using Line 6 products just about exclusively from 2000 to until 2018 and switched to bus. However, there still seem to be a few tidbits which are Zoom exclusive. If the sounds most unique to Zoom that I recall from the 3030 & 4040 can be heard here, I might purchase one.

Thanks for not talking for two minutes first about how you are going to play a guitar pedal

Do you need an audio interface to record sound with this pedal board? You just plug in the cable and done?
You said a thousand words without opening your mouth, well done
Shoutout to those reviewers that do nothing but talk. Lol more talk less demo.
Keep this up.
Why you shouting them out? Those guys don't deserve views

Wow. For no talking, that went very well. I must commend you on some really good playing. This is a cool little pedal with alot of sound. Great video.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect demo thank you
Probally the best no talking effects box demo on the tube. Recommended, buy it now.
This a true review , no talking straight forward ..
No, it's not a review, it's a Demo. A review has comments in the video.
This is a true Demo, and a damn good one too!

Most important…you can’t beat the price! Four months on, what’s your opinion now?
Why did you want to return it?
Had a Zoom unit in 1990. This changes my opinion of Zoom. This sounds as good (to me) as a GT-1000. Best Regards
This is by far the best affordable multifx for me, this is my kind of sound effects.
I instantly clicked and subscribed due to thw “no talking”

I think your playability is great. Sounds everything nice.

Well done, this should be the standard for all pedal demos.
Came for the gear, stayed for your tasty playing
Solid playing, no bs. Great review!
Nice demo that really shows some of the different tones it's capable of, thanks!
This is a real demo, and not a monologue. Great!
O melhor vídeo de demonstração da Zoom G1x four que vi até agora! Parabéns!

Best review for Zoom G1x four
Absolutely love this pedal, only need multiple guitars now lol
I was so impressed with the bass version, B1X that I bought the G1X also
Wow that wah pedal sounded really nice 👍

Thanks for the great demo!
If this pedal sounds twice as good as my old 505 I am sold!
Wow that pop chorus 😍

For the price nothing can beat this one, the bass version (b1x four) is also very good.
Do a demo with the bass guitar .

Mooer has no battery power option.
Great review,to the point. Thanks, it will be the next to my collection
When going direct to the audio interface, you had the mic parameter set to "off". It makes a huge difference setting it to "on". For better, I mean.
I love the (no talking) in the title
This zoom sounds good, nice demo
Awesome for the price, before multi effects it would cost about $3000.00 in separate pedals to match this
You can add a zero with 10 amps and 10 cabinets! I got a G2.1u for 40€, it is a beast. Very similar to this one.
@@tanakadingdong9170 cool, I have a g2.1nu brand new still in the box !! I have a few multi effects.
maybe for the analog? this pedal is digital right?
First patch is perfect for The Police!
Never cared for zooms but this sounds impressive!!!
Get one. They are cheap and sound very good, even if you already have a more expensive amp set up.

Great drum sounds actually. ty
Have you tweaked the settings before playing to adjust the sound to sound good...
Is there a community that shares custom-made presets?
Should I run my g1x four though my katana or no

How do I make my zoom g1x4 sound like an organ?
Thanks for that. Is the sound in the outro screen also from that pedal? I actually need exactly that step filter sound 😅
You had me at "no talking"
have you tweaked the settings of zoom before recording this video ?????? or you just started on the factory settings ?
That 1st one has a Plimsouls sound to it. I love the vid and will look into this product
That was a nice demo thanks for that. Can you give a demo for how to use this gaget with electric violin please.
Are patches 21nd 23 included in the Zoom, or are they custom patches that you made? Fantastic video!
They are included with the pedal.
Nice video without a lot of talking just what we need to know about the product
Zoom g1xon and zoom g1x four which one is better
too bad amp speaker is separated from amp model...making it fewer active effects in a patch
