If the price tag is $0.01 you are not allowed to buy. But you can buy it if you use the self-checkout. But don't let any home Depot associate see you.
I bought a 5-gallon bucket of paint one time for one penny.
Super cool deal.🎉
Also paint is considered hazardous waste. So it's actually cheaper for Home Depot to give it to you than to dispose of it properly.
So if you want to buy all their oops paint, talk to the manager to get a great deal.
2 weeks after seeing, $0.02 , start checking the dumpsters
Won’t work we have trash compactors
You typed landfill wrong! 🤣
All stores will now go mark their price with $$.02...
If you see nearly any type of wood, either run away or expect to spend the day digging through it to find a piece that is not warped, bowed, twisted or "rat-eaten"
Nah... I bought almost all of the small dimensional cedar wood from a HD for $0.52 a board! 3 weeks later... New stuff came in for $7 a board for the same stuff!
It's still cheaper to buy it through the guy who bought the pallet through an auction! 😂
And if you get REALLY lucky, you'll go check out and find out your clearance item is $.01. One cent. That means it was clearanced out and was supposed to be removed from the store. This just happened to me with a Kwikset Smartlock. Its also happened with a Ryobi charging station. Its after I believe 30 days on clearance it gets set to .01 automatically.
Even better, only buy stuff whwn you know you need it instead of going broke buying stuff you dont need.
Get off my UA-cam feed dad!!!
Home Depot: they're on to us. Increase the price by $0.01. They will never know muahahahaha
Different Home Depot stores do different items on clearance. My local store has the 21 degree Makita big boy nailers for 1/4 price. Everyplace else and online it was full price. Same for some sanding grout tiling tools. One store had em for a dollar and everywhere else it was full price.
👌confirmed
I didn't buy and waited, and it was gone. Same with full priced items.
This is not only a Home Depot thing. Many retail stores use coding systems with the cents, as it's easy to program the POS and inventory systems to apply sales discounts certain weeks. Saves having to make an inventory list for every sale.
Yes they use a coding system. This here is fake tho.
Thanks Matt! 😊😊
How do you know?
90 days idle is when retailers put items on sale and will do final clearance when the item is nearing 120 days idle.
I would’ve assumed they would utilize 0&1 or 7&6 or 6&9 or 3&3 or not make their secrets so easily discernable
Here I thought they were just putting random numbers on tags just to see if we noticed. Thanks for clearing that up, genius.
This is great advice ......... if it's true.
I used to work at home depot. He is telling the truth
Good to know!
What about the prices that end in .47, .49 or .99? I see those quite often.
They are sometimes used to identify sales items. When a sale is going on that week, and the POS detects those prices ending in those cents it knows to apply the discount.
costco does comething similar to this
LOVE THIS - THANK YOU!! However, on the 00 price, you said it would "go lower later" and that you would tell us how to know that....but you never told us how to know that. Or were you referring to the other prices you saw and that 00 would change to something else later?
Great video. Also, keep in mind that managers can adjust the price up to around $50 depending on what the item is. Doesn’t hurt to try and haggle a bit. I just recently purchased a 3/8 inch M18 GEN3 impact 3.0 kit for $115. Happy hunting everyone!
Got them to come down $50 on a Husky tool bench because I pointed out a scratch on the wood top.
Good info 👍
Thanks for to the info.
Also like your shirt!
Sometimes they are random. It depends on who set the price. It can be a corporate price or one set by the store. If it's set by the store it will most likely not have a coding system in the price. The information will be in the computer and they can look it up.
If they have a large quantity, you can ask a manager about the price. Once at Home Depot a manager tried to get me to buy 12 storage containers with no lids at cost 😂. He just wanted to get rid of them because he couldn't find the lids.
End of that story: i was using it as a litter box for my cats and i was only willing to buy them all if they had lids.
1. I love your channel, Thanks! 2. I am sure by now that HD has changed their 'Pricing' system.
This is great advice. I didn't know that. Thank you
Thanks Matt
I always wondered about that.
Thanks
What about the .28¢ we saw in the first cut?
What about Lowe’s?
Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much
Use to be a local gun shop that had a code on the tag that gave cost . Ran into a guy who got fired one day at the bar he told me the code after a few rounds. Ps he was fired for repetitively coming in drunk !
Men you are the best!! Thank you for that info
But then you wait..and it sells out.
I’m digging the shirt bro 😎👍🏾
wow!
Pitbull the Rapper 🎤 venturing into woodworking 😲
This is actually wrong... The numbers only indicate the amount of price drops are left. 098 have not dropped. 765 have dropped once. 432 have dropped twice. 1 is, pull me off the shelf, not for sale.
I picked up a Milwaukee 10-in smooth jaw tongue and groove pliers for 1 cent. Yes 1¢ or $0.01 I have no idea how that mark down happened but it was the legitimate price.
It was a penny sku which means it’s price is a penny we’re supposed to return those items to vendors but sometimes employees forget to take it to a supervisor or asm not all employees know what to do with those penny skus
Definitely luck was on your side that day lol
It was on clearance, and then after so long it went from and .02 or .03 price to .01, at which point it was supposed to be destroyed.
if it was to be sent back to the vendor, it likely would never get that low.
depending on state, if its on the shelf, its technically for sale. penny status or not.
This is some valuable info!
My man. Comin up with the down low on the info!! Thanks brotha!
Costco has a similar pricing scheme.
Good stuff
If you know a good spot in the store to hide it long enough you can get it for a $.01
Nice shirt🙏
Yesterday I bought outdoor floodlight base, paid $0.01, should I have waited ?
Dollar store sales just dropped to 0 because of this guy
Are we going to be tested on this?
Umm 🤔!!! Do this wrk for Walmart and Target too!!!!
For those of you who haven’t already figured out the system… this all of course is assuming they still have the item in stock. Yeah that item you’re watching and waiting for it to go even more WILL continue to be discounted but once they sell out, they obviously ain’t gonna go any lower. Just sayin.
Anybody know if this also applies to HD in Canada?
nope it doesn't. But what you can do, talk with a manager and negociate. Sometimes it works
Holy smokes, never knew any of this stuff, thanks!
One might think it to be in Home Depot's best interest to make this code common knowledge to their customer base.
Can anyone suggest a credible reason that keeping the secret works to Home Depot's advantage?
This is amazing. Does this work at Lowe’s, too?
Thanks for letting everyone know the small tricks of shopping at home depot. Now I wont get good deals
Hey hands up look this special what I’m found online.. FLEXVOLT 60V MAX 7-1/4 in. Cordless Worm Drive Style Saw with 9.0Ah Battery Kit for the price of 449.00 plus tax , but if you want to buy just th tool for th price th $ 249.00 u can also take for free a 9.0 Ah battery and ur final price for both is around 270 including tax , I’m thinking here is a reasonable offer…!!😊 but this offer works more well if u have a charger or extra charger at home ..thanks and good luck shopping …!!
Show proof of these meanings
Who looks at price tags at Home Depot? Everything is 100% off all the time there, at least in New York
The question is, did you learn this from home depot and would stake your reputation on it? Or did you watch another random video someone made and thought it wouod make a good video for your channel too?
Best piece of information I’ve gotten regarding shopping! Thank you!!
Dam
Or you could be trying to boost HD sales by manipulating consumer behavior.
So at the cost of fuel we should just drive there everyday to see the price and never even end up getting a deal in the first place.
Or just know your prices You can just walk around the corner and see what something compared prices are
So you wait another 3 week from .06 to save .03 maybe .04
you realize there are numbers in front of the decimal that will change, right? Original price might be $30.06. Then moves to $10.03.
Too bad it don't work like that in HD Canada...
BEST SECRET TIP: if you categorically sort the BEST deals in Home Depot and then take the first number of each item it will give you winning power ball numbers!!
here I am, send me
That 0.6 cent one is straight bs. They all prolly are. But that .6 means 6 weeks is false. I’ve worked at Home Depot a lonnnnng time.
If the price ends in .06, don't buy it. Leave it for me to pick it up in a couple weeks.
So whats the cents code for over priced milwaukee garbage, don't buy it code?
Ok. Been a retailer for more than 26 years. I never heard so much BS in my life concerning pricing.
This is absolute Nonsense. Period.
this comment is absolute nonsense. Period. The pricing tips in this video is truth. A LOT of HD employees have confirmed this over and over again. Just because you haven't heard it doesn't make it false. Open your mind and learn a little something.
Dude, please don’t jump on this dumb price bandwagon. People finding the “penny deals” are working with depot employees. When items are marked to zero they’re actually not intended for sale and are being held to return to manufacturer. The s/m promoting the deep discounts is BS
BS
Home Depot sucks
That's the biggest bunch of bull I've ever heard ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆😆😅😅💯💯👍👍😎
