      If the price tag is $0.01 you are not allowed to buy. But you can buy it if you use the self-checkout. But don't let any home Depot associate see you.
      I bought a 5-gallon bucket of paint one time for one penny.
      Super cool deal.🎉

    • @lostintime8651
      @lostintime8651 9 місяців тому

      Also paint is considered hazardous waste. So it's actually cheaper for Home Depot to give it to you than to dispose of it properly.
      So if you want to buy all their oops paint, talk to the manager to get a great deal.

    If you see nearly any type of wood, either run away or expect to spend the day digging through it to find a piece that is not warped, bowed, twisted or "rat-eaten"

    And if you get REALLY lucky, you'll go check out and find out your clearance item is $.01. One cent. That means it was clearanced out and was supposed to be removed from the store. This just happened to me with a Kwikset Smartlock. Its also happened with a Ryobi charging station. Its after I believe 30 days on clearance it gets set to .01 automatically.

    Different Home Depot stores do different items on clearance. My local store has the 21 degree Makita big boy nailers for 1/4 price. Everyplace else and online it was full price. Same for some sanding grout tiling tools. One store had em for a dollar and everywhere else it was full price.

    This is not only a Home Depot thing. Many retail stores use coding systems with the cents, as it's easy to program the POS and inventory systems to apply sales discounts certain weeks. Saves having to make an inventory list for every sale.

      They are sometimes used to identify sales items. When a sale is going on that week, and the POS detects those prices ending in those cents it knows to apply the discount.

    Great video. Also, keep in mind that managers can adjust the price up to around $50 depending on what the item is. Doesn’t hurt to try and haggle a bit. I just recently purchased a 3/8 inch M18 GEN3 impact 3.0 kit for $115. Happy hunting everyone!

    Sometimes they are random. It depends on who set the price. It can be a corporate price or one set by the store. If it's set by the store it will most likely not have a coding system in the price. The information will be in the computer and they can look it up.
    If they have a large quantity, you can ask a manager about the price. Once at Home Depot a manager tried to get me to buy 12 storage containers with no lids at cost 😂. He just wanted to get rid of them because he couldn't find the lids.
    End of that story: i was using it as a litter box for my cats and i was only willing to buy them all if they had lids.

      It was a penny sku which means it’s price is a penny we’re supposed to return those items to vendors but sometimes employees forget to take it to a supervisor or asm not all employees know what to do with those penny skus

      @adambomb7331 10 місяців тому

      It was on clearance, and then after so long it went from and .02 or .03 price to .01, at which point it was supposed to be destroyed.
      if it was to be sent back to the vendor, it likely would never get that low.
      depending on state, if its on the shelf, its technically for sale. penny status or not.
