- This is just a Ramble 🐏 on a fragrance I am loving more wity each wear... Guerlain Metallica or Métalys as Guerlain was forced to change the name. Also and unboxing of parfum d'Empire Musk Tonkin.

I remember Empire releasing small batches of musc every so often and basenotes members getting very excited about it. Loved their Russian leather.
Cant wait to put the remaining three to the test, still got musk tonkin, tabac tabou & cuir ottoman I need to give a full wear to very soon 🍻

I just found a 30ml decant of Metallica for $150. I think I'm going to bite after watching your glowing feedback on it. Thank you as always Ram! Your opinion is the only one that matters when it comes to blind purchase.

I love it... it made my top ten fragrances of all time... thats how much I love shalimar... you could say Metallica & Shalimar are my two favorite "Vanilla" fragrances of all time 😊
I was lucky enough to find a decant of this gem for a good price. Honestly the only house I would put my faith on handling vanilla is Guerlain.
No one does vanilla like Guerlain 😊

Have recently come across a partial 250ml bottle of Metallica for I believe I very good price and have asked them to forward me on a sample with a view to purchasing the bottle on your recommendations so can't wait to get smelling the sample, if they hadn't of offered me a sample I think I would have still had to purchase it blind lol
Yes for sure.... that is on my full bottle list still... I havent been able to find a bottle yet... but I love that juice....its magic 😊
Hey Rams getting into Marc Antoine Corticchiato for sure. I got my bottle of Oeilleres L’Object a couple of days ago it’s a one off commission by M.A.C.( now that’s much easier, mac for short lol)for Roberto Greco, I really like it ,quality and beautifully constructed,which tells me his Parfum D’Empire work must be as you say stunning a must try ,although looking at the reformulations and discontinued ones is distracting and confusing??,anyways I see Russian Adam has released a vid about his latest release Aqularia Blossom it’s a colab with Agar Aura ,it must be the new release sample he sent ya ??,although he also said in his vid he has a collection of 8 new offerings ready to go soon focusing on Hindi old school oils with a modern twist.phew long winded comment there apologies lol great vid smell ya later 🙏✌️

The 2ml sample of Guerlain Metallica came today. I tried to get 15ml but no such luck. Whew one spritz of Metallica does it. The sillage is fantastic. Now that's some Guerlain juice. I'll have to keep searching for this rare one. It behooves me why they discontinue great ones. I'm debating on getting the discontinued Coquin.
I am absolutely smitten with Metallica ... would love a full bottle ... alas one day... Djedi is another rare one that even 2 ml of juice will satisfy your hunger 🍻🙏

I wonder if Metallica was in Guerlains Les Parisiennes line? Why they dropped that line is beyond me. I got a few from that line for my mother, Mayotte, Mon Precieux Nectar (2 bottles) and it seems like one other one. In fact she had Mon Precieux Nectar on the gown for her funeral. The first perfume I bought for her.

🤘🏼💜🤘🏼 Can’t wait for you to try the Musk Tonkin. I have the new version of the extrait and I sampled the edp. I think the extrait maybe just a bit more intense and animalic but can’t remember exactly. Both are gorgeous though.

Hi Ramsey! Parfum d’Empire is great! I own pretty much all their fragrances! Fantastic stuff! Musc Tonkin is probably the best musk fragrance being made today (outside of Russian Adam & Sultan Pasha). Africa Stone is something special. I have both EdP & extrait; both excellent! 🙌🙌👏👏❤️❤️

It is qualified by the following (not including anything by Russian Adam or Sultan Pasha & not including any vintage). So, the best widely-available MUSK fragrance being made within EU/IFRA regulations today, lol! 😂
ps - I wear Musc Tonkin to work no problem
pps - I think it depends on skin type & how much your skin amplifies the animalic notes 🤷🏻♀️

Musc Tonkin came in extrait in 2012 (1000 bottles if I’m not mistaken). Then the EDP in 2014. Then they were discontinued. Then they re released the extrait, still available in their website. I have the first extrait and the edp and, imo, they smell the very same. Haven’t tried the current extrait.
Someone else told me they thought they were very similar as well .... that basicially go for whichever one is cheaper 😊 ... i got a great deal on this 100ml bottle so if what you are saying is true I got double the juice of the extrait for less $ so I am happy ... thank for sharing the knowledge brother 🙏

@@RamseytheRam I do not have the skill to explain...but whenever I go to Vegas and to a cigar bar I apply a lot of it. To me, it's light leather possibly with a floral twist in it.
It's a must-have. Also, it is inexpensive.

@@RamseytheRam I have some seriously good Guerlain karma and have gotten this, 90 (ie Shalimar old bottle from era when it was called 90), Guerlinade and Vega reissues from the 90s at pretty decent prices on eBay and FB marketplace ;) it can be done, with some luck and a lot of patience 😊🙏
