Monaco midfielder Yousouff Fofana is 100% leaving the club this summer and has been on Manchester United’s list for over a year, according to Fabrizio Romano. Fofana wants a new challenge, and his ability looks incredibly suited to the Premier League. He has one year left on his contract, so Monaco would rather cash in now, instead of losing him on a free next summer. United are interested, so it’s about time we looked at how he would fit in...

Every season ste gets me giddy on these prospects and every season we never sign them
He’s too good at hyping people.. then the pain when you see them go for cheap to Benfica then cost the next club 100 mil
@@AshBashSneakersApplause 👏👏👏 My thoughts and feelings expressed in your comment
Not Ste’s fault the Utd’s scouting team are dumbos
Haha gotta agree. But some of his recommendations are spot on.
If Rashford goes.
Nico Williams would be perfect replacement
@@mettycarpenter3267exactly i have been saying this everywhere..Nico is perfect uses both feet, electric and finishes great.,,Cmon united scouts
1. Well get him for less than he's worth cause he's already said he's out.
2. Age is perfect
3. Someone who can play side to side is super important for us
4. His ability to play as a solo pivot is pivotal ( pun intendead)
Excellent signing meaning we won't get him😢
I have to admit i havent watched him much but 40% pass acurasy does not suggest a side to side player AT ALL.
And if he actually is a side to side player, and he is still only doing 40% pass acuracy, then thats even worse 😅
@@98godofwarHe’s in the 40th Percentile, not 40 percent pass accuracy.
His pass accuracy is 80 percent.
@@mfcorp9608 ahh I read it wrong! Thanks for the correction (that’s not as bad I suppose although it’s still pretty poor)
Kobbie, Sofyan, Fofona, Bruno, Casemiro sounds really really solid. Mount getting to his best this season really can be a game changer for United
Casemiro is going, and I see no real future for Mount at United.
He hasn't had a present so not sure how you don't see a future, lol. I think we won't know why he was acquired until we see him fit...I think it was for a fit variable set up with Fernandez maybe playing as s false 9...but also cause I don't think they expected Mainoo to hit the ground running like this...
With a good no.6, he could be a 2nd attacking midfielder with Fernandez or the leading midfielder with Mainoo as the one playing deeper...
Would allow Fernandez to get some rest and also allow for Mainoo to not start every single game yet and get burnt out...
@@lordd794
I think Mount will be useful, we need to manage Bruno's minutes
Casemiro will go and Eriksen so getting Fofana and Amrabat makes sense.Fofana also gives us tactical versatility can do the 6 and 8 role effectively. Also Mount has a big part to play this up coming season.
Casemiro & Amrabat out. Fofana and Ugarte in.
Fofana is a beast, he will be a great signing, fingers crossed
I personally think if you can sell eriksen and casemiro then bring in fofana and bring back amrabat, with mainoo and collyer being the 4 midfield double pivot rotation
Smart business 👌
Why is UNITED not Talking about EDERSON from ATALANTA? He is a Beast at that no 6 role, a true warrior🔥🔥🔥
He is an 8
You watched him once. Relax
@@OserojiemenKing No, been following him since we bought Hojlund, he is very good believe me
@@jackbb29 no bro he is not an 8. He plays Dm for Atalanta
Because he would be too expensive I imagine
Youssouf Fofana would be a dream signing for Man United. Big, strong and high energy midfielder, a very powerful player but also a very skillfull player with a great touch. He would easily adapt to the Prem. Still he need to develop his reading of the game, but he is a great teamplayer and extremly hard working. Need to act quick a lot of other clubs are in for him and AC Milan have tried a few times already to sign him.
Could possibly become like a yaya Toure for us?
24/25 is the perfect age to sign a player in my opinion. Old enough to know what you're getting, so you won't get mugged of because of "potential", but young enough that they'll have sell-on value by the time their contract runs out (assuming 3/4 years).
Fofana,Amrabat,Mainoo,Mount,Bruno,McTominay are good midfield options that should secure top 4
So glad someone else sees it as well
Fofana is perfect for us
1. Good technically, has power and Pace
2. Cheap transfer fee and average wages
3. Mature enough
I really like your analysis lad 🤞🏽
If Fofana can do what amrabat did those last 4 games and be disciplined going both ways then im all in and we need 6 more than any other position imo. Certainly we need high line centerbacks too and a striker and a leftback. But, those last 4 games showed us how different things could be with a 6 who keeps it simple and defends but can pass and dribble as well which none of our current 6s can do.
My take is this: With Casemiro out and Erikssen likely to go, United needs 2 midfielders just as we need 2 center-backs. I will go for Fofana and Neves. Fofan would be my number 1 because he combines high energy, aggression, and supreme technique. He's such an upgrade on Amrabat from the passing attributes alone. The second person in midfield should be Joao Neves (if we can meet the fees). Neves is such a gem and could be the stabilizing presence in our midfield for the next decade, much like Carrick was.
My third midfield option, which United should consider seriously if Neves wouldn't be possible is Adam Wharton.
Those 3 midfielders will all bring something we've not had in a long while. Physicality, cover for defense, technique, and play-making from deep.
Please sign this guy he would fit amazingly well and give us what we are missing in the midfield.
I would absolutely keep Amrabat if United can get him for 20 million or less. Fofana or Onana would be great buys also.
Casemiro wasn't the problem. The centerbacks falling back and leaving huge gaps were
I'm surprised we haven't offered Amrabat a contract. He was excellent the last few matches and was one of the key players in the FA Cup final.
He's still on holiday, loan ends July 1st
I think he’s earned himself (just)
At the end of the season he was really good and he was the player we thought he was.
Dunno if it was injuries. Transitioning?
That’s the thing with the premiership!
We are a completely on a different level. And some players struggle to step up. But at the end. He did that.
We should give him another year but also sign another player for that position
@@mettycarpenter3267Amra is a great squad player, in what's clearly a key position for how we want to play. He's shown loyalty to the club, too. Think of how he held out for us to sign him, then played out of position, wherever we needed.
We need someone with more quality as first choice, for sure.
But at £40M for both Fofana + Amrabat, they can hold the position until we have the budget for a marquee signing in a few years time, if we need.
Ten Hag wasted him all season then finally decided to play him in his actual position and start. Can only think where we’d finish if he and Amad played more games in the league.
@@thebizness5596 He was injured for a lot of the season, then had to cover positions where not only were the first team players injured, but also the backups. Ten Hag was finally able to play his tactics in the FA Cup final where he had most of his first team and backups back.
Shout looks good
If we only had enough money for two positions it definitely would be a Defensive High Energy midfielder and and a Good ball playing Right Centre Back. But I can't lie, Rasmus needs a fellow Striker to help ease the goal scoring pressure, and left back void scares me too.
My issue is that we keep getting adaptable CMs thinking that they can do jobs that they actually can't. Box to box CMs we got. A specialist who can dictate tempo is what we need
Mats Wieffer is the the one we need. He’s a #6/Regista type player.
You are 100% correct
Do like him, especially at his price, but feels much more of an 8 than the 6 we likely need more. A 6 that can protect the back 4, has the physicality to boss the midfield, cutting out passes, tracking runners etc, but also the technical ability to link the defence and the offensive players, is more likely what we need.
Just don't feel like Fofana wants to do that role, i remember an interview him saying he likes to play higher up to get involved, he prefers to be the all action 8. Fofana is the player we prob should have got instead of Mount and for ~£30m cheaper.
Ste can you have a look at anton stach from hoffenheim. I think he has very great attributes to be a top class 6, 6ft4 great defensive numbers and very good passer of the ball.
It's very obvious that Fofana is leaving Monaco after deciding not to renew his contract with them. Therefore he should be available for around 20-25m which is a bargain considering what he'd bring to any team that signed him. He's definitely a signing United should be making. We'd be stupid not to
United should definitely buy...... especially since they don't have the budget to be splashing cash on an unproven CB in the epl
What about Alan Varela from Porto? He's another Argentine machine. Would do the dirty work to allow Kobbie and Bruno to shine and can pass too.
I remember watching him at boca. Has he been any good this year at Porto?
@@shedzproductions8262 that's the footage I saw of him. I will have a look. I just think he's got that tenacious streak that Licha has and that they would link up well.
This makes too much sense for us to go for him 😂😩😭
FE FI FONANA
If Utd only buy 1 midfielder I don’t think he is what is needed. As cover he’s an upgrade. Totally unrealistic but Neves, Mainoo, Fofana, and Amrabat would be a better midfield and bench than using Eriksen, McTominay, and Casemiro.
Are there any good utility players available capable of covering fullback and midfield that would make a good squad member? Amrabat at left back wasn’t great.
Am I the only one who trusts his assessment
Half the time Amrabat was played out of position,he could turn out a good buy.
I am curious on what will happen to mason mount next season
United needs both Zubimendi and Ximons
I’m not convinced on Jarred Branthwaite. I’d prefer Antonio Silva
Or Todibo. I think they would work well with Martinez.
Hope Ineos are smart enough to do smart deals,
right now being linked with brantwait for 70 mil and 150k wages doesn't sound like they are smart
Question is if he can be changed into more of a 6 then the 8 he currently is. He has the potential and good price.
last season he played more as a 6 with all his 8 goal contribution came as a 6
@@alexchetambe1279 Okay all the data sets etc I saw it was an 8 but then in a double pivot that can often actually be a 6 role wise. Only seen him play in France team and then he was an 8. So yeah if now comfortable as a 6 would make him even better.
Not sure why we are spending so much for Branthwaite, when for the same amount basically, we could get both Todibo and Fofana.
Onana, Wieffer, Fofana all seems to be good matches for United. My preference is probably Wieffer, but Fofana is probably a bit cheaper.
We need at least two midfielders for the right hand side, with Casemiro and Erickson both leaving, and possibly one more for the left side. I like Fofana, Neves, Xavi Simons, and Wieffer.
I still think we should sign amrabat first. We have gore and mejbri coming back plus mount. Then i'd just go find a young, cheap defensive midfielder as back up.
Would love to have him but He’s a top target for Arsenal and i dont think we can compete for a championship league team 😒
Watch Chelsea go and sign him. We’re 100% missing out, we always do it.
Get him now
I will be surprised if Fofana doesn't end up in Seria A. Man united? Not a chance
A little too similar to Maine for my taste. Need one who is more defensive minded. Like Onana and Wieffer
please make video on Joshua Zirkzee
How’s Ian maatsen getting sold for 37.5million pounds 😮
Is he better than amrabat man
Fofana or Maxence Caqueret?
I am not sure he is exactly the profile of holding midfielder we are looking for. I think we are looking for more of a "regista". However, if we are looking to take a number 8 and convert him into a number 6, then I would prefer Fofana to Onana. His technical ability and range of passing look to be much better. It also helps that he will cost us about half as much.
Have you quit Rios channel ?
him and thuram could come in for 50m combined. great age profiles, improves our physicality and are technically sound.
get them both and revamp our midfield
Not Thuram. He's awful and we already have McTominay
@@directorme6669there’s no way you’ve watched Thuram and think he’s anything close to Scott. The technical ability Thuram has wouldn’t be found in 5 Mctominays. The only similarity is height.
@@Moonmaestro11 Technical ability? Please 😂! I have watched him enough an my verdict and opinion is, he's average, definitely not what United need to take it to the next level. Stop forcing your opinion on me
@@directorme6669 Not forcing any opinion on you just stating facts. Thuram isn’t any like mctominay and is obviously way more technical, he averages more passes, dribbles, successful take ons and carries than Maino who is pretty technical. I suggest you watch games. And this can be proven if you check stats as well. Cleary formed that opinion without actually watching.
@@directorme6669 if you think he’s average that’s fine or that he won’t take us to next level, but saying he’s “awful and we already have Mctominay” you’re just saying stuff at that point
adverts ffs
All we do is hype up these players and they get signed elsewhere
GG
Not signing this one then, are we? lol
I am of this opinion that fan channels have to talk about this EtH camp campaign over social media to put pressure on the club, his decision to go on leave, despite the fact that his responsibility was to conclude a review, organize and plan for the new year before heading out, and then organizing media opportunities and appearances that appear to put him above the club's elements. His assertion that United appeared at his doorstep, appears to diminish Man Utd in favour of EtH. The man wanted to spend 3 years before moving on to another club, furthering his career at United's expense. He has been desperate to retain his job, as his interviews suggest, but his camp's attempt to manipulate fan opinion and then manage his image/publicity at United's expense has to be pointed out.
United's fan channels have to decide if they would like to support this kind of a deceit in EtH. Can we tolerate this EtH > United approach? I am simply revolted by this man's inability to just keep his mouth shut - keep somethings just inside the club, as opposed to washing dirty laundry in public, making himself look soooo good of a manager that Man Utd came to his doorstep... that kind of a thing, you know, enrages.
I am under the impression you have no forward thinking and maybe ETH and Co did their due diligence way before the end of season say maybe Xmas but I guess that's just a educated guess
But the review was of him by the new owners not the other way round.
Manager just like players need to go on holidays.
I see why you would have an issue with his answer to the question but that is over reaching.
@@Y_Pree Yes, forward thinking alright... but only for himself. Not United.
@@Zamunda- Bro normally, reviews are normal in corporate environments. EtH is the manager, he has a responsibility to the club and the owners. He has to finish his review, plan for the new season and then go rest. He clearly has some issues which he would like to publically discuss. His approach here is simply EtH > United. Scumbag as far as I am concerned.
@@illuminatusdeus3051 But the review was done by Ineos and they were reviewing among other things if Eth should stay.
Ten Hag was not thr one doing the reviewing.
Didn't Mount have 12 months on his contract when we overpaid for him. Hopefully, United have new negotiators.
They do, the old ones were fired.
United defo need two midfielders ideally Zubimendi and Y Fofana which could be done for around 70 m combined
If Man united want a real ball playing midfielder who can insert himself in between the two CBs and receive the ball from Onana, them we should be looking at Zubimendi and Barella
Honestly, think he’s average. If we looked at the scouting video for Amrabat last summer I feel it would be very similar to this one.
Maybe it's just me but don't rate him that highly. Saw him come up with Tchouameni and was not impressed. Decent player but technically not great.
But he clears McT and seems cheap so I'm all in
Anyone ever looked at Xaver Schlager from RB Leipzig?
Theo hernandez we shud try get also im sure he wants to leave ac
Thought we were guna get Joao Neves ... reminds me of Scholes with them 60 yard passes. Small tho
He is 120 ml
Thats too much
Seen crazy release of 100mil, make a bid and find out@@Denis92923
Generational talent in my opinion but his price tag is crazy. I think Man City is the only club in EPL that can afford a player that would cost that much
I really feel like we need someone who's better at tackling and interceptions in midfield, this guy feels too much like Mount and Mainoo
Fofana is not good enough for Man Utd. If United sign him then the club is telling us to drop expectations completely. He is a West Ham signing!
Not good enough in my own opinion, there are better choices
Time to move on from Mctominay, excellent servant but we need proper footballers on our books!
Not for us
I have an inkling feeling Chelsea are going to sign him
Ndombele and Tolisso were better than this fella in Ligue 1 and neither could transition to the bigger better leagues.
But Fofana is not a 6. McSauce has the physical attributes as well.
We need a player who possess position discipline alongside the physical. We have enough 8 of varying quality.
Fofana is not a 6 and we need a modern 6.
Bull crap he doesn't fit in. If man utd bought him it would be a complete disaster. This is a case of the blind leading the Blind. Howsons opinion when it comes to football is as good as an infants. This guy is a hype job. Get angel gomes back. How the clueless solskjaer allowed him to leave is beyond me. He should have been sacked then. Out with propaganda out
Ste can you have a look at anton stach from hoffenheim. I think he has great attributes to be a top class 6, 6ft4 great defensive numbers and very good passer of the ball.
How much did we sign Mount who had 1 year left with his Chelsea contract again? I hope we can nail it this time.
Morning Ste
More chance of signing Dino Baggio or David Albelda.
Fofana, Rabiot on a free.
Dumb mcsauce, van de Beek and Casemiro ( I still think he has it but nobody else does)
Case still has ability but does he have the legs for the league? Maguire and Evans were looking faster than him towards the end
With the defence playing higher again he'd be fine as he wouldn't have to cover so much ground, however he's one of a few we can get some kind of fee for
@compostsmurf5519 have the high line again and close up that space and all of a sudden he'd be back to the first season. The injuries this season and ten hag refusing to be pragmatic exploited his biggest weakness
@@mitchellbrough1615Casemiro’s wages are too high. That’s one of the reasons they wanted Varane to go.
@@lordd794 yes thats a big reason as well tbf
Personally I believe Fofana is too similar to Mainoo/Mount. His traits are like an 8 not a 6. We need a 6.
