Here's my review of the Speidel. It's a great fermenter. I use the 30L version which is 7.9 gallons - perfect for 5 to 6 gallon batches.

Excellent review. Been using these for a little over a year now, and i think they are fantastic. Best fermenters in my experience thus far. And completely agree with the visibility aspect, especially for checking if the krausen has fully dropped.
The 20L works great as a secondary fermenter, by the way.

My brew-bucket is getting old and I was considering replacing it with one of these. Very helpful and thorough review. Thanks!

They are worth it... much stronger and very high quality.

Been using these for awhile after breaking my glass 6.5. The wide mouth and hard plastic are great for cleaning (just use a non abrasive sponge 🧽). Handles and weight is also very nice. Head space makes it so blowoff has not been an issue. The airlock does not like to seat when wet too well. Spigot also has tendency to leak and even if it doesn’t it picks up trub without fail. I don’t use them after a lot of frustration. Overall better than glass

Just ordered one today. Had an infection in a glass carboy recently and been worried about cleaning them ever since, looking forward to something i can get my hands in to clean.

I saw your review of the Speidel fermenter from More Beer. Thank you that help a lot. In the review you said you like a clear ferment to see your beer fermenting. I know More Beer sales a clear fermenter for not to much money. It's the FerMonster 7 Gallon Carboy With Spigot. I would love to see a review of it. I haven't seen any videos on it and you doing one will help me decide on witch one to buy.
    Thank you for your time,
    Rod

Great review, thank you! What is the height of the 30L with the airlock?

Thanks for the review. Do you know if the 30L fits in the Cool Brewing fermentation bag?

Which accessories would fit for racking under CO2 pressure? Great vid ;)

you think a little keg lube on the airlock stopper would make removal easier?

Thanks for the video, I really like the Speidel fermenters a lot and I know only one down side: No liter markings on the plastic! Add this Speidel, and you have the perfect product for a good price. Cheers

Been contemplating getting one of these for some time now. One question, does the trub ever get higher than the port? Always wondered if when racking out of this fermenter does the trub have any chance of coming out of the port since the spigot doesn't have a tube? Thanks!

I thought it would but it actually hasn't happened to me yet. It flows pretty clear from the spigot.

how do you avoid yeast to come out when you transfer?

the spigot is higher than the base so the crap stays mostly at the bottom

Made a batch of beer and it tastes like a garden hose. I’m guessing I didn’t clean it good enough.

Gets stuck? Use food grade lubricant then.
