made my first set tonight based on your instruction. mounted them in what will be a symmetrical airfoil noob tube and the alignment over the hinge point was perfect. not bad for a few pennies. thank you Andrew for all your videos. looking for a place to try some slope soaring and cannot wait to try cutting foam cores. cheers
That's actually true, they come up with the stick and go Here daddy for your plane! My oldest is just 5 and now starting to fly (crash) so its a good way to learn some physics from early on...
Great horn idea Andrew, lots of gluing area, and so cheap too....Gonna get me some of those Gift Cards.....:) I have another Depron build to do at some point...
Andrew Newton Yeah, they look easy to work with, and you can bend them too...:) I also want to glue them to receivers etc so I can screw them in place...
I was wondering if you ever get any flex in the gift cards, or would you even be able to tell? Maybe a cam shot would be able to see if they do. I thought about laminating 2 of them together with some Gorilla glue or such and pressing them in a vise or clamp. Would be a good idea for other things, I bet you could get some real strength out of them that way.
+3000gtwelder I have never seen any flex while flying but occasionally the push rod had poke further through the hole after a crash, but it never breaks.
Hi Andrew. is there a way i could send a couple of pics of my first plane build? you have given so much info, I just wanted to show you how bigger influence you have had.
Loveing the short quick tip style vids. Many times, details like these get lost in a complete build vid. Thanks.
+Rookie Flite Yes I'll do more of this style. Very quick and easy to produce.
Thank you again, Sir. Very direct and to the point, and easy to follow. I personally like measurements as they make it easier for me to replicate.

+Steve Barrett That makes me happy, thanks Steve. Hope you find a good slope
Great idea, I do a similar thing with chopped up popsicle sticks! When its summer time I make sure to collect them when the kids are done!
+Ermis Adamidis Haha, I bet they encourage you to make more planes

+EnglishTurbines Just the right combination or toughness and easy of cutting.

great idea again
+sayid mohamed Thanks Ed (ExAir) for this one
very useful - thank you
excellent!
Thanks for that what a great idea have to make some
Thank Ed from ExAir for that tip
Thanks Andrew
smart work
Hi Andrew. Great channel mate. I was just wondering where you got the wire from for the push rods and the specs of it please?
+blairo15 Look at the previous video
+Andrew Newton sorry mate. I'm an idiot! Ta for that. Its a great idea!

I was thinking, you could also use old CD's that you don't like maybe in different configurations.
+3000gtwelder Too brittle and hard to work I would think, but give it a go, might be another option.
Your a really cool guy andrew, consider your self very lucky to be able to dive with cuttlefish, there are non in the Americas
+Nuclear Fox Thanks, yes I do know how lucky I am to live here.

You bet, I'd love to see it - apnewton@gmail.com
Nice, Would this also work with other pieces of plastic such as an ice cream container?
+PaddockPlane RC Worth a try as long as it's not too brittle. ID cards are quite thick and tough.
Good stuff!
Спасибо!
does it matter if they have the magnetic strip on them?
+FlyinSunnyCoast Not at all, I have used them without any problems
Thank you for this. I just crashed my first plane and lost my rudder along with the control horn. Time to get it flying again!
Grab your credit card and start cutting!
those are diagonals not side cuters
+cbfsoar15 Thanks for that, I'll add a note in the video.
