    This is so helpful, thank you! I’ve wanted to make stuff like this, but I know polymer clay is so fragile for pendants, and this answered my questions.

    YAH I found it, ok but I have a question if you do not have the bake and bond but I do have Mod podge gloss and it does not say not to bake or that it is bakeable neither, kinda reluctant on baking it. Now I also have jewel-it embellishing glue and that as well does not say bakeable or non bakeable so reluctant on using that as well. Do you think I could do the polymer clay pendent bake it then glue on the cabochons?

    I think if you mount your camera to shoot your hands and work, from the side ( end of table), instead of over the top of your head, you would have better results. Still love your videos! 💕

    the "twirl" and decos stay in place even without doing anything to merge them to the base?

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  8 років тому

      They have stayed in really well so far; if you are concerned about it on your own pieces, I would recommend a dab of liquid clay to help bind it all without having to smoosh the design :)

    Hi Ivonne,
    I ran into a product while watching a polymer clay tutorial. The woman doing the tutorial uses it to give a glossy finish to polymer clay. She is not able to polish her play with sandpaper for health reasons. The name of the product is Pro-tec powder paint. I will try to get the link for the tutorial for you. So far I have not figured out how to do it. She buys the powdered paint from fishing supply place called Jig Junky.

  • @Miastrong930
    @Miastrong930 6 років тому

    Sorry don't know how to get the link. I tried but the usual method doesn't seem to work. Her name is Deanna Holub. Hope you find it interesting. She did mention a caution about plastic bags. I was not clear about what she meant. The paint is used by fishermen to create fishing jigs. I don't know anything about the paint including if it is okay to use it on something that you wear against you skin.

    PYM is discontinued. You cant get it anymore. Any other spray on sealer will make, and keep your clay sticky.

    I like this video but the focus constantly changing is really confusing and distracting. do you have the camera on auto focus?

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  7 років тому +1

      Hey, Elizabeth! I hated the webcam I was limited to using at the time, but fortunately I have a good camera on my phone and am able to use that. I think the webcam had an automatic autofocus. I'm not particularly tech savvy :p
      thanks for watching! :)

  • @deeconlon1886
    @deeconlon1886 4 роки тому +1

    Your technique looks great! I don't mean to be critical, but next video, please turn off your auto-focus. It was very hard to watch, as every time you moved your hands the video blurred. Also, I know you were working in a preferred color, but for video, a lighter background with dark clay (you worked on your dark surface) or a light clay on a dark surface will make it easier to see what you are demonstrating. I hope my suggestions will help you make a better video product! Thanks for the great ideas and tips on making my own bezels.

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  8 років тому

      +Hidden Thicket The struggle is real! I have never had a piece balloon up as much as yours did, though. What was the fate of that piece? Were you able to salvage it?

    • @HiddenThicket
      @HiddenThicket 8 років тому

      Yvonne Williams It's been a challenge, but I have resisted the urge to crack it open to see what's inside. If I don't use it for the costume, I'll paint it up and hang it from my read view mirror or something. Who wouldn't want a griever charm for long trips, eh? Even if it is a little bit fat. I'll rub it for luck like a Buddha!
