Hi ... I love what you do and what I have learnt from you. A tip for when sanding at these grades is to use loads more water as it forms a paste of what is sanded and the wet and dry paper to give you a super fine polish. Also a drop or two of washing up liquid helps too.. keep up the good work and singing too

Green turquoise comes from copper and blue Usally is found with iron deposits. I'm a silversmith Usally I make 70s style turquoise rings. I always find inspiration when I watch you. Your so talented dear💜 Ty for sharing this idea pretty cool
I have made some of these and didn't like them but I hadn't thought about using the pasta machine to stretch the design. And see? That's why I love your videos!!!! I learn new things I would never would have thought of. Thankyou!
You can use elmers glue to Dop with cut dowel sticks. I find it easier to Hand Sand this way. Elmers comes off Easy! BUT It holds long enough to get most sanded as the wet is on the sanded side and not the glued side. I have used it with my Welo Opal stones I have finished. It worked Remarkably Well.

Wondering if you didn't maybe use way too much of your black paint. (I would have probably washes my hands with the gloves on so that the heavy black paint wasn't transferring on your clay even more. Most turquoise that I've ever seen has very little black in it.
Do you varnish your cabochons after sanding? I've used very fine grade sanding pads, 2,000, 4,000, 8,000 and down to 12,000 grit to polish CA (superglue) which I use to 'varnish' wooden fountain pens which I sometimes make. The CA glue finishes like a layer of glass but to achieve that sort of finish I Ieave them on a mandrel and spin them in a lathe to sand as the glue is very hard. Just wondered if you'd ever considered using CA glue as a varnish? It would toughen the surface and maybe give a better shine. If you do, don't be tempted to use the accelerator for curing the glue - just let it set naturally and don't breathe the fumes.
Hmm, that's a great idea. Although, I wonder if people like myself, that are allergic to all medical glue (including CA) as well as adhesives would react badly to wearing a pendant covered in it? Just wondering. I love the idea of it.

Those look pretty. You need a better way to polish and remove the acrylic paint. Someone suggested tumbling them. I watch videos from Turtle Soup Beads. She works in polymer clay too. She dips her beads in Pledge acrylic floor polish when they come out of the oven. She buys it online and it keeps all of her pieces together and adds a nice shine. She buys it online.
I'm not sure what to use to tumble it. But I know it can be done. I'm working on getting a tumbler so I can experiment. I love your whole channel, by the way. I made a helm chain bracelet today while you showed me how!!
I'm thinking the stainless steel shot wouldn't be good for polymer clay ... maybe the stuff they use for tumbling bullet casings in a vibratory tumbler would work.

Turquoise goes really nice with antique copper wire and beads ... If you put sandpaper on blocks you can do some mild faceting too ...

I didn’t realize you can mix different clay types…good to know. Also thought hard clay was something to toss. I thought it was spoiled.

Turquoise gets is color from copper so, where there is turquoise there will be copper.

Polymer clay can be tumbled... just a thought for whenever you make another big batch of cabs...

You should use a Dremel to sand and polish your cabochons. It would be easier on your hands. 🙂
