      I built a gaming PC for about $2,500 CAD. A Vega 56, 64GB RAM and 9900K didn't fit. So I subbed them for a RX 580, 32GB RAM and a 9700K.
Didn't even think of downgrading the mobo to a $250 from $330. Now I am wondering why I got a 9700K and 32GB RAM with a RX 580! Now I'm saving for another 1TB NVMe SSD, a 5700 XT and another 32GB RAM.

Suspend mode with a PCIe card that's not playing ball will pull that trick off. Had a system that will suspend, not boot back up, shows power and to boot up you had to unplug it, press reset, replug and then it would boot back up from suspend.
      Mad, but happen's.
Still personal fav was IBM PS2 55sx(iirc) that had the MCA slots on a riser card that was so close to case top that if you (like some did back then for desktops) put a CRT monitor on top (yeah the only way back then), could sag slightly the case top and anybody slamming the door was enough to cause the system to crash.

Best buy employee: The hard part is finding an employee that really knows their stuff. Training is limited, and they don't go out of their way to hire GEEKS specifically, that is normally reserved for Geek Squad. You need zero computer experience to start selling computers in best buy. However, due to the environment, a lot of us really do know our stuff because we like it on our own time. Your mileage very well may very though.

To be completely fair, look at a budget motherboard's rear I/O. Its basically the same, just with video ports (HDMI, VGA or DVI), and MAYBE a PS/2 port.
Dell simply removed what was deemed unnecessary for that PC. It has a discrete GPU, so integrated graphics make no sense. USB peripherals are the norm, so PS/2 makes no sense.
And as for the classic parallel and serial ports....come on, they should have been removed ages ago.
In short, its rear I/O is more or less the standard basic budget mobo I/O.
Cant say the same for SATA and other internal connectors however. That Dell motherboard cant really do much in terms of expandability.
I guess we should be glad it even has a couple of extra PCIe, in case someone wants to add a Sata controller or something.

Contrary to popular belief gaming DOES NOT BENEFIT FROM MULTI-CHANNEL. There is extensive reporting on this, suggest google search. Now, multi channel RAM is a huge boost to almost every other category, but NOT GAMING. On the other hand more RAM is always better gaming experience.
This is why gaming rigs - especially from Dell - almoist always come with single stick. That and to leave space for user upgrades.
Of course is 8GB enough is entirely different topic and here we may... converge more than the above. Mine has 32GB RAM and fortunately still is enough, but kinda dreading that upgrade already. My budget is very fixed.

Dell's being doing this and similar practices for pretty much ever. Definitely recommend more hardware focused prebuilts, or just send em towards companies purely around pre-built PC's. Especially if they're after gaming performance. If they just want a machine, any laptop will do regular or even pretty full-on users perfectly fine. Desktops should only really be for professionals / semi-professionals, and gaming hobbyists nowadays. Laptops are quicker, easier, and often the same price now.

I just saw Gamer's Nexus about the upcoming push to 12v only PSUs for prebuilt PCs, and the PSU in this video seems to show Dell simply complying with the standards set by California to increase PSU efficiency. Once ATX12V0 is standardized, all the OEMs (not just Dell) are going to shift to the PSU style we see in this Dell G5. It's going to be even more of a pain in the ass to upgrade these prebuilds in the future, but I see two upsides. 1) it's not likely to affect DYI retail parts because ATX12V0 puts pressure off PSU makers and onto motherboard makers, and there is no space on retail motherboard for power regulation shenanigans, and 2) we're going to have a slimmer PSU standard that can be used for custom PC builds.

Sales are VERY common at microcenter while amazon very few things are ever on sale in comparison. I was able to build 3pc's recently each one ran about $150-200 cheaper then normal because of sales per pc. Vulkan runs on not just Windows 7, but also Linux (and Vulkan is one of the rare times Android is included in that), Switch, and I think but am not sure about the Play Station 4. But then again I see games ported from PS4 to PC ending up using DirectX11 so I could be wrong about that. Apple refused to put Vulkan on their platforms, but thankfully the developers behind Vulkan made a MoltenVK wrapper to work around that. DirectX12 on the other hand, only works on Windows 10 and Xbox, and even then it took until 2020 for Microsoft to make the APIs on PC and Xbox the same DirectX12.
This is also exactly why I don't listen to people that say that Linux sucks for gaming; we should be mad at the game developers for not porting their games instead of spreading misinformation about free operating systems.

For that price, the pc is waaaaay overpriced.

Michael Salazar I agree it should ATLEAST have a better power supply and a better processor like i can't stand this. This guy thinks it's an okay build around this price point and it's not a processor running only at 2.9 GHz is okay? like wtf is wrong with him

They literally showed you how it costs 100$ more if you custom built it with the same specs, damn ya'll never watch the video whole do you?

haidar zeaiter have you ever built your own pc? You don’t just go to amazon and purchase all of your parts. Also, you don’t spend $150 on someone building your pc. When you build a pc, you have the option of utilizing PCPARTPICKER to find the best deals per part. You could easily save yourself $300 by building it yourself and purchasing the parts from various vendors.. Not only that, but when you purchase prebuilt PC’s, you’re typically stuck with proprietary parts such as this pc. So, yes...... overpriced.

@@haidarzeaiter3723 Dude are you stupid? I build computers for a living I know what im doing. I watched this video the whole thing through and it was cringe you would NEVER want to spend a 100 dollars more just to build the same specs you dont even want these specs for $1,000 period.

@@BirgensmithGaming I have only built one computer (my own) and while it's (this best buy computer) not super expensive, I agree you could have purchased this for much much cheaper if you built it yourself lmao

My first pc was from Best Buy, Acer Aspire GX-785-EB13. It had an I7-7700, 12 GB DDR4 2666 speed, 2 TB Toshiba Hard drive (no ssd sadly but for a first pc, it did the job.) Zotac 1050 2gb and 500w PSU. Recently sold it and bought some ram and a 850w PSU for my 3080, (last month) and I’m sort of missing it, it was a really good pc and it even looked cool, sad to see it go but now I have a 3080 so any game I play will be blown out of the water
