Fact Or Façade: Part 1 |

For possibly our most ambitious project to date, the Wentworth Woodhouse volunteer Digital Team has taken to the road to establish whether or not the House does have the longest facade of any country house in Britain.
Two other great houses also lay claim to the title, Stowe House in Buckinghamshire and Hopetoun House in Scotland. We've engaged the help of Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland and conservation architects, Donald Insall Associates to establish what a facade actually is and how to go about measuring it.
We also take a look at the scale of loss of country houses in England and Scotland and explore how the three houses featured in this video series have made themselves relevant and viable in a 21st Century world.
It's been a mammoth undertaking and we're releasing the results as a series of three videos. You'll find out which House actually does have the longest facade in Part 3.
