Hello from Colorado - great video. I grew up in Sheringham and visit often. Walk this all the time. I'd recommend dropping down to the beach at West Runton, especially if the tide is out. Alternately, once you drop down the east side of Beeston Hill (bump) hang a right, cross the railway tracks, turn left on the Cromer road and just before the humpback bridge at West Runton take the dirt path headed south up to the North Norfolk Ridge and then follow the trails to Cromer. Its a wonderfully wooded walk.
Thank you! In my guide book, the path goes that way - through the woodland which I was looking forward to, but it seams the route of the path has been changed, to follow the coast - not sure it was the right choice! 👍
Thank you Simon, I am thoroughly enjoying this series of walks, I have also been following your route on Google Earth on my second monitor. I am a great fan of this part of Norfolk and am very familiar with it. Although I live on the south coast near Hastings, I escape to Norfolk as often as my wife will let me free for a few days. I am approaching 77 now and am amazed at your perceived walking speed, I would be left way behind if I tried to keep up with you; about 8 miles in one leg is enough for me these days. I am looking forward to following you on all your adventures in the future, as a severe insomniac, you are getting me through the long and pleasantly quiet, winter nights.
I really like your walkabout bye the ocean , peaceful and your filming is excellent . Britain now has the longest coastal walk in the world . Wonderful , thank you for sharing .
It is always a joy, stumbling across such exceptional channels as yours! Cracking work! -- Cheers, from a young rambler alas stuck in the city due to the calls of higher education
Hi Simon, another fascinating video , the truth is that I find pleasure and comfort in following and watching your channel . Your efforts much appreciated ,Thanks a lot .👍✌️
being from across the pond - 'I keep dodging to the right' - when I see your 'walking amongst people'. then I remember that I wanted to do that in London also when I visited and had to remember left, left, left!!! really enjoy these hikes with you.
Simon!! I'm going to have come there some day. It would only be fitting. I really like the coast line.... looks amazing. And to sleep on the shore for a night, would be awesome. 👍👍 Keep up the great videos!!
Thank you Simon for a very interesting and informative video. I admire your strength and endurance in doing that walk carrying your belongings on your back. I walked from Cley to Cromer over two sections in 2020 and found it interesting seeing your video. Michael Parkinson
What a beautiful part of this wonderful planet! Thanks so much for sharing and your time. I can't bare to watch the news anymore, thank you for the escape. Your videos are top notch Simon. Keep it the good work, can't wait for the next one!
This was really good. The weather was kind to you on that second day 🌞. Well shot & edited, wouldn't have been out of place if it'd been shown on a Sunday afternoon on the BBC 😎👏👏👏❗️
...wow, that time-lapse start Simon - brilliant! The pack up is such a chore, and you need to be systematic as you show. I move a lot slower! Honestly, I take an hour each pack up! That said - in an emergency or heavy rain I can do it in 20 mins max. Stuff and go!
Hi Simon Great mini series..loved the whole walk from start to finish.. but there's more to come 😀😀will look forward the next mini series Stay safe and well..👍👍
Thanks Phil - it’s one of those walks that just never ends! I’ll pick up the Angles way and follow the Waveney back to its source and then back to Knettishall (around 180 mile round trip) 😁
@@simonablokeinthewoods wow that's some distance.. ok I know from when I walked the Coast to Coast some years ago it's an amazing walk that took me a fortnight to do and I wild camped as well it just seemed as though it wasn't coming to an end..so I know how you feeling and you're only half way..but a great mini series all the same..and it maybe some time before you can pick it back up again.. So I hope that you and your family stay safe and well in these uncertain times ahead..👍👍👍😀😀
And here I was thinking the UK had really jumped ahead on reducing carbon pollution. "Look! They've even built trains that recycle their own exhaust!" 😜😂
We have discovered your channel during lockdown and watched every video now! You've inspired us to visit this beautiful coastal area once we are able. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry just got to see this video Simon because of work , got to make a living . These videos are so relaxing to watch, just what I need after a long day , I get to set back and look at these Beautiful places and think how lucky people are to live there . You waving at yourself was a good shot . Good job and thanks again, ATB !
I know the train is moving forwards but the smoke seems to be going back into the train! Oddest thing I've ever seen! Just found you and subscribed, watching your Norfolk coast series. Thank you for sharing such wonderful footage with us. I can see you really really go the extra mile for the footage! (pun intended).
Thanks Simon - another great video - just the ticket when we are stuck at home with Coronavirus shut down! BTW - the map booklet A-Z Norfolk Coastal Path / Peddars Way covers your route with OS 1:25,000 strip maps - I had your video, the map booklet open and a handy mug 'o coffee tracking your progress! Well done on sharing your walk!
I’ll check out the A-Z version, i usually go for the Cicerone guides - they also have map sections in (albeit a narrow corridor of the terrain either side of the path) 👍👍👍 Thanks for joining me along the route!
Great video Simon! Beautiful beaches, loved the history lesson. Beautiful little coastal town.. looked like you had a very nice walk, thank you for sharing! ATB
As always a real pleasure. The next part of the journey is the worst until you get to waxham . Then you get to the real jewel in the crown of the Norfolk Coast path, Winterton. My home villiage, bias! Lol
