We were robbed of years of patrice podcasting and bringing his sense of humor on this goofy timeline we've entered into
Some of his takes still hold strong today
With the way things ended I don’t think we were “robbed”
@@misstrKevin what do you mean?
The feeling when I find some Patrice O’Neal material that I’ve never heard before is indescribable.
Fuck yeah, same here. Probably the only Patrice clip I have never heard. I'm stoked right now.
Holy shit just found new patrice in 2020. This is a gem
I've listened to everything he's ever done, most of it more than once. Its surreal hearing him say something new.
Check this one out ua-cam.com/video/i6Yzng93j-g/v-deo.html
Crazy. UA-cam always brings us together
Word
yo, ditto from 2021
Can’t believe I stumbled on to this in 2024 such a blessing for new Patrice ❤ thank you 🙏🏾
Miss this fucking guy every day. No single person has had a bigger impact on who i am and how i think.
Ditto
1:27:23 “I don’t wanna be just a martyr in this game, thinking all the things I could have been. I just want to be happy too, I don’t wanna just make a bunch of money”......You are a Martyr Patrice, and you made millions happy; you keep making new millions happy.
That shit was deep.
its hard to listen to this knowing he died shortly after this, we really lost one of the funniest people that most people had no idea about
How shortly?
@@sidb_iii1179 couple months later, he was in a coma for a few weeks before he passed
That’s why it’s our turn to become the man he wanted every man to become. Grow some balls
It's kind of hard to listen because of the audio quality aswell. And because Mohr is a dud. RIP patrice
@Zach Schmitz He wasn’t really trying to be funny tho. He believed everything he said and it came out equally as funny as insightful
I can listen to Patrice all day. R.i.p 😢
So can I
Search Weston4020 on UA-cam if you haven’t yet.
@@Dasmoose15 lol bro if you’re here i think its more likely this dude already ran through that. Bless tho we all in the same boat searching for an unheard nugget 😂
I can't believe I'm just listening to this for the first time. More than 10 years after his death, and literally years of listening to old clips. It's like stumbling on a pot of gold. Thank you for uploading this
Patrice’s wit and wisdom will change your life
Jay pours his heart out...
Patrice “I just realized something. I’m lazy”
That’s funny.
And he was dedicated to the bit, never worked again.
@@SGFTI lol
Patrice was and still is the best comic.
Its so amazing how these comics saw the future of podcasting. And here I am listening years later. Long live Patrice
Wow. I've listened to every black phillip,O&A appearance, tough crowd, basically everything Patrice has done. I never knew this existed. I'm glad I'm still finding unknown Patrice audio.
You listen to the Matt Ruby interview?
Jay Mohr had a solid early podcast. Bill Burr, Marc Maron(who has a Patrice episode), Bob Kelly, Rogan, even Kevin Smith's smodcasts. Those were entertaining times. Sadly it's a business and they're all compromised in one way or another. Formulaic and just reacting to the same bullshit in the news. If you heard one, you're hearing the same opinion of 5 other guys.
Holy Fck!!! Could you imagine Patrice on Rogan around this time??? He is exactly what Americans need to hear in a weird time like today
RIP Patrice. I can't believe I miss someone so much that I didn't even know when they were alive. So glad he was here for the time he was.
2020 just found this. Thank you
Everyday at work I put Patrice O’Neal UA-cam playlist on shuffle and my day instantly becomes better
Wow this might be the last patrice audio I've never heard. You my friend are my hero
No hero just spreading the works of the legend Patrice Oneal
"I just realized somethin', im lazy. That sounds like too much work"😂😂 what a way to end it. Classic Patrice! this episode was a diamond in the rough!!
Proof that life isn’t fair: We could have had Patrice on Joe Rogan 1:18
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !*
_Tappin' in from South Central LA_
*12/3/22*
I'm on one of my Patrice O'Neal (RIP) binges today. I've listened this multiple times and it never gets old. I dig his interviews because he's never trying to be hacky like a lot of comedians are; tryna purposely be funny. He's always more introspective than anything else. Miss the dude.
Rest easy Big Homie 🙏🏾 We're listening.
🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
@ 15:18 when Patrice talks about misery and why he is miserable...because he does not like disappointment. This a very deep and real conversation that explains why we think the way we think. Real Talk
It was around 2005. I wanted to make a good impression on this chick I just started to date. So I got two tickets to Riddles Comedy Club in Orland Park, IL. I was a stand-up comedy fan but somehow I didn't recognize the name Patrice ONeal . When I purchased the tickets, I thought ''damn, who is this Woman headlining the show?....ah fuck it, she must be funny''...
But as we arrived and walked thru the club, I realized Patrice was no Woman. He was a Man...the funniest Man I have ever had the privilege to witness. The way he worked the crowd...just riffing. A true master at his art.
I laughed so hard that night. The next day my abdominal muscles were sore.
Been a fan ever since. It's so saddening we lost him. I want to hear his thoughts on all the crazy shit that has been going down over these recent years.
I'm from Homewood-Flossmoor. Wish I would have known about Patrice back then. Would have loved to see him live.
i hear ya ...Patrice really made me look @ women differently
Real talk!
Of all the things that fans of Patrice usually say, the whole 'What would Patrice have to say about all the current shit going on' is probably the one I hear most. He always brought a rational perspective to things.
How'd the date go?
Patrice was a one of a kind dude. Great stories with a great comedic presence.
The Funniest Man To Ever Live was and always will be Patrice O’Neal
There really isn't even a close #2 if you think about it. Carlin, Pryor, Burr, Chappelle etc. as much as I love those guys, no.
@@randazza agree 100%
Colin and Norm?
Chappelle is the only one. They orbit each other. The problem is, Dave is a big foot, and while Patrice is a big foot too, Patrice was way more accessible. Patrice will take on the challenge, Dave miiigght strategically avoid something if it was tooo controversial, where as Patrice really offers his personal organic philosophical perspective which is the best. And while Dave has that too, you feel like, it’s very limited to how much he spews it.
Those 2 are thee best ever in my honest opinion
Patrice had so much integrity he would've probably bailed during his first ever podcast ad and never made ad revenue because he "sounded phony." The professional bridge-burner was finally about to build his own bridge, and it hurts to hear how optimistic he was towards the end. The podcast era is tailor made for Patrice, and he would have exploded to stand up superstardom with Jay's strategy (which as he mentioned was Segura's advice, and it's safe to say Tom is proof it works).
Patrice was insecure and had fear of failure.
I miss this dude
everyday
I've never heard anyone else match Patrice's ability to break down what they think about a thing and why. I'm not saying I always agree of course, but he always had a really interesting angle. I just got to the part where he just didn't go to film his scene in The Office - Jay says that's insane and Patrice says yeah but you accept a certain level of your own insanity. 100% right, but I never heard anyone come up with that explanation as quickly and honestly as that. Amazing guy.
This is one of the most important and "authentic" interviews that I've ever heard. J. Mohr did a huge service by putting this podcast into the world; both he and Patrice deserve *huge* props for their candor (this is the reason that I, fwiw, both love AND *hate* "comedy").
*Big* ups to a couple of titan talents - thanks to you both (wherever you each may receive the blessing).
Never seen this before. UA-cam delivering in 2022
Patrice lived 3 minutes from me
In November it's gonna be 10 years since he died.
Still makes me sad.
A glimpse into the unfiltered nature of Patrice in a podcasting environment. What could have been.
Shit this was the start of patrice getting into podcasts and he died shortly after it, if he has lived a few years longer he would have got into them and had the best podcast ever
2022! Just ran into this jewel!
Holy shit Patrice was in the Ed Norton movie 25th Hour, I love that movie
I see Patrice O’Neal ... I click .. PERIODT 2020
I see a grammatical error, I comment. Periodt.
Patrice is a breath of fresh air. Raw!!
The biggest personality back than and even now here we are searching for anything Patrice related
Thanks for this so sad he died after this wish we could bring patrice back.
There is something undescribably special about Patrice. His comedy is obvious but it seems 2 be more about his spirit and personality but we've seen many talented people with great personalities but we're not connected 2 them the same. 🤷🏾♂️🙏🏾
How did I miss this! Love to find “new” stuff
Never heard this.. damn, it’s like finding a hidden gem but also sad knowing it’s so close to the end. RIP big man
Congratulations on 30 yrs of crushing it!
Oh God, why couldn't Patrice have started that podcast he wanted to start when all these boring schleps started theirs? I mean he bought the equipment and everything! :(
Righteous Anger Podcast You are 💯correct 😞..
well he did "the black phillip show", if you havent seen that, youll love it
😇
Patrice ends the podcast with the truth. I feel that.
Great upload
the best podcast episode ever. Rogan missed the opportunity
48:30 "You are in a position were your happiness meets your finance." brilliant!
Thank you Patrice, thank you Jay, thank you BrotherBlaccSpider
Long Live Black Phillip
Wow this is fantastic!
A new Mr. Patrice O'Neal? Thank you soooooo much.
One of a kind Patrice was on every level! 2020 seems like it was written for him. Actually written by him since he kind of predicted the future in alot of ways as far as woke culture, me too and government now that I think back to O&A as well as his stand up. RIP Patrice aka Black Phillip.
Its incredibly sad to listen to this now. Patrice would have been the podcast king
1:39 "was that your phone or Vos' car?" lmao
My fav comic.
First time I found this. Whoever said Mohr was a dud missed out on a friend with experience helping Patrice in one of his most memorable issues with his career. If Patrice wasn't ready or they weren't close we wouldn't have heard him hear how Jay showed him hope in the "Hollywood" issue that Patrice was either ready for another run or not quitting every time his mind says these other cast members have nothing on me.. I think that was a great conversation and obviously it wasn't going to be the next part of his journey however if he was still around you never know what effect that conversation would have had he msy have learned just enough when Mohr was able to earn his ear. Patrice prob would've ended up the baddest non sell out funny mofo Hollywood has ever seen . i Gained a lot of respect for Jay Mohr, wish the family of Patrice the best as always and thanks for the Memories
Thank you youtube algorithm. Just found this out today!
I think this might be the last new Patrice material I'll ever discover on UA-cam. Jay More did his best to ruin it. Still worth it for the Patrice jewels but just barely. That douche actually thought (thinks?) that he was on the same level. He's Opie if he had more self confidence and did stand-up. He got in on the podcast train early and never took off because of how unlistenable he is. Also 1:29:44 there's a cut where it seems like Patrice was about to trash him for saying goofy shit but he took it out like nobody would notice.
You listen to the Matt Ruby interview
this is yhe best thing i ever seen and ive never watched Mohr to be honest. im 20 seconds in
And I'm back 3 years later
The last two minutes are classic
If only patrice knew how well his podcast could have been doing. Listening to patrice talk is better than o and a, better than JRE, even better than burr, Segura, mark and Sam. Miss him.
Ah yes, the insufferable Jay Less please, and more Patrice. RIP dude
"I just realized something im lazy...it sounds to much work hahahahaha"-Patrice O'Neal
I have all of Patrices appearances on O&A.. pure comedy 🐐
I Watch all the ones they posted on UA-cam I don't know if it's all but knock em down lol even download my favourites
I wish Patrice had done another roast
He was right everybody doing podcast now lol
1:27:25 Patrice calls exactly what he becomes
💔
Fucking eerie man
Its sad that Patrice didn’t take more acting roles because it’s seems like all this appearances are in clips from deleted scenes
❤
Patrice was very self-destructive, he could have been famous several times over without compromising anything really. He just stopped showing up to his job on The Office.. Said no to all the Roasts, and told Spike Lee to "talk to my agent" when he offered him a role over the phone lmao. Despite all of this you could tell he would have been at least Bill Burr level famous today. But there was really no reason he wasn't famous while he was still alive other than self-destruction and what Patrice admits at the end of the Podcast, he was Lazy.
He was scared of failure. So he failed himself before anyone else could.
wish he was famous instead of the annoying Billy Burr.
thank you sir.
Just helping to keep the legends word alive.....
+BrotherBlaccspider we really appreciate u doing this.
That's one reason why the roast went to shit. The people who used to be roasted back in day were actually liked and friends with the people roasting them.
Yep
Just found this. I wonder what else is hiding from me.
Jesus, it makes me sad that Patrice is talking about changing his life and career and having a more positive attitude - only to be cut short by a stroke.
Damn , J was fishing...
19:04 - that's the sound of the penny dropping for Patrice about why you do a podcast. So sad he left us before he could have gotten his own one up and running.
If he were alive today, his podcast would be as good or better than Joe Rogan's.
@@HUNTENT247 BETTER, Joe Rogan isn't even funny dude
@@Relayzy1 Agreed, but it wouldn't rank as high with mainstream media. It would always be underground like Corey Holcomb's 5150 Podcast.
Patrice realised the office is average at best and they only have him as the token black guy . He should have been the lead character.
When you've been in jerry maguire..., 😂ffs
I think this is one of the very last things he ever did... damn. It sounded like he was gearing up to (begrudgingly) do so much more....
The next Roast was for Rosanne Barr, that would have been a great roast for Patrice.. damn.
R.I.P. Patrice O’Neal
Patrice upped my standard of funny
ain’t that truth…he exposed shtick and opened our eyes to genuine “funny”
Damn he never mad it to rogan that would of been a epic conversation if it was one on one format with video. Just 😥
If I had Patrice O'Neal's brain, I would be a billionaire
Cause you'd sell out and he didn't
Goddamn, I miss this fucking guy!
RIP
That ending lol
Man it is fucked up to hear them talking about the future of Patrice's career knowing what's right around the corner.
Patrice would own podcasting if he were alive rn (no shade to Rogan but we all can recognise the levels)
35:00 Mohr spinless
He took his wife's last name when they got married.
127:20 This really makes me sad... because it totally happened
Patrice is too deep for these dudes. 30 minutes in and things going over there heads
damn i thought this was video, oh well
Just found out Mohr divorced Cox. From the outside, it looked like she couldn't handle not being an "it" girl anymore. I bet it drive him crazy.
Can you believe he’s engaged to Jeanie Buss?
Waking up everyday with a disease you know is going to kill you, I can imagine is pretty demotivating. It's clear to us now why he wasn't as motivated by money as Mohr and why he leaned toward cynicism.
This. If you have a loved one with a disability or incurable illness you fully get it! 👌🏾
Diet and exercise would have saved him.
"wasting a good prayer not to eat these cookies"
So was that Nikki Cox in the background?
@51:30 he says "Nikki walks in..."
This Jay bloke thinks like a woman - can’t even follow Patrice’s point about Chaz Palminteri/A Bronx Tale, and Dignity vs $$$ 🙄
mohr droppin gems, patrice integrity also legit tho. interesting, humbling urself before the grind v givin urself away too much balance
It's part of the festival though lol
