      It's a great video, and I just might try it! How about next time you pick a more descriptive and less silly headline and perhaps a picture of what you are actually building instead of whatever TF that is

      @@neilnelson2933 it's called sensationalism.
      Why be factual or correct or practical. When B.S. is acceptable everywhere. . .
      For likes & nonsense clicks

      I have made something similar that I use as a cheap surface grinder. It's steel instead of wood, and grinder elevation adjustments of 0.001". It's no where near as accurate as a real surface grinder, but for smaller surfaces on hobby projects it's accurate enough. You've done a nice job implementing this in wood.

    Why do you feel it's necessary to put a fake thumbnail and lie in the description? DIY people like the truth.

    • @johnrains8409
      @johnrains8409 Місяць тому +1

      While I might be sympathetic with your observation, I have found in my 77 years that very few people really want the truth.

    • @ModelLights
      @ModelLights Місяць тому +3

      'Why ' The reason is simple. This is something that has had dozens of videos over the last 2 or 3 years. If he had an actual thumbnail that showed what it actually was, very few people would click this to watch, because it's just another one of the same thing they've seen 5 or 6 times already.

    Not to shabby. A neat way to improvise a radial arm grinder saw.
    That said. While not as dangerous as a it might be with other saw. I recommend. Pulling, not pushing. If that blade catches for whatever reason, it's a lot more likely to cause injury or damage if you are cutting the direction the blade is spinning.

    I love it. If I build it I would have the handle tilted toward you so you can push the assembly rather than pulling it away from you. Great design and you can get a small saw blade and make it dual-purpose.

  • @jeffp5991

    Good luck finding millions of people that will appreciate this. I guess most people that have the tools to tool a steel plate probably would just use one of the numerous saws that would actually have the ability to cut a square edge, not to mention how dangerous and unpredictable this hack is.

    I really like your 3:15 , I bought a house with the money instead. Maybe🤔..... I should have got the saw instead. Ya know, less irritating weeds, less irritaing weeds, and less irritating neighbors calling the city because of the irritating weeds that seem to get taller every time they call the city. But allass, at least I have my very accurate weed-spray and a neighbors yard(putting green like) to express my inner midnight-Picaso!

    The only thing I learned here is that your tools are dull and you like to live dangerously with no throat plate.
    Also seems like a lot to do when a Skil saw and a straight edge is faster.

    If you frequently cutting metal stuff on this cutting jig i will highly advise you to add metal plate as shielding pieces for protecting the wood against grinding sparks as even in your test cut you certainly had a seriously dangerous amount of sparks at you and the wood big time.
    Also add circular metal disks to cover the bearings to avoid dust and debris while cutting wood, metal & ceramic stuff on the cutting table also making cleaning and maintaining the cutting Jig very easy and less tedious.
    Cut small metal disks that are slightly smaller than the bearings diameter to allow proper protection for the bearings while working on the cutting table.

    I have to admit it looks great, but I would recommend that you do something about putting a off the machine trigger under a long lead and use that to journey angle grinder on and off your fingers are too close to the disk and on that wood disk that would take the fingers and shred them. You can buy cheap emergency plug-in switches that come with all the leads you need for around $30 or you could not run up yourself probably for $20. I'll give you 5 out of 5 though for the machine will I wonder what slop on the bearing is when the wood shrinks are expands maybe some eccentric nuts there would've been better so you gonna adjust them a little, just ideas, but definitely off-machine trigger.
