Idea for video creator: Instead, take the output fuel line and place in left nostril. Pinch right nostril shut. Close mouth to prevent escaping gas. Turn on motor for approx 25-30 seconds. Have lighter ready. Open mouth slightly and ignite lighter near mouth. Hopefully this method will prevent the posting of stupid ass posts.
Drill the holes using a drill press for precision. Use a hardened steel nail or brad. Assemble and bond pieces together with J-B Weld. Then throw away.
clean using steel wool under recently boiled water, put salt until it doesnt dissolve and some oil on top of the water to avoid dissolving oxygen, get a 5v wall charger and put your piece on negative and a bit of solder on positive, don't expose the aluminium to oxygen and always start the deposition right after you cleaned the piece, put the oil only when starting the deposition. Then after that thin layer is deposited you can use leaded or leadfree solder and it'll stick to aluminium.

To borrow the words of the famous Guy Martin "this has got hospital written all over it" . if it doesn't get you during the repair it will get you after it.
To make your weld with heterogeneous filler metal, you must first heat your support that you want to weld, so that it melts the filler metal, if it is compatible!? of which you will make sure beforehand that the latter has a lower melt degree index than what you want to weld. Otherwise congratulation for the creation and assembly of your blowtorch and the manufacture of the aluminum wrist brace, beautiful engineering.
"Buy a new one" only works if 'new ones' are available. Depends on the part in question. There are ways to weld aluminium reliably. This is not one of them.

You know what. All you people keep complaining about this video but i don't see any of you having the mental capacity to even fathom this idea or even trying to bring something back to life. Including your manners... he did a great job and made some great all viewer friendly content. Thank you for your video and I'm sorry these people are so entitled to their not existent imagination.
An engineer would have told you that what you did was not welding but more of a back yard aluminum solder attempt. Welding involves melting rhe base metal and the fill metal so that they form a rather uniform alloy making a continous metal piece. You did not even achieve a good solder joint with your technique.
