  • Is the airfilter on a 450MT easy to get to, accessable, or easy to change out? then if you want to know, then watch this video!
I demonstrate how to access the airfilter and replace, clean or install it back in to my CFMOTO 450MT.

Shouldn't be long until someone has foam filters available, paper is a no go if you're planning to actually do some dirt work with the bike :-)

Have you got any experience with prefilters? I have none but was thinking I could use my 3d design skills and 3d print a new cover for the air filter that fits the same prefilters as the T7 but I have no idea if it would be worthwhile. What's your thoughts?

@@outie555 No experience with pre filters, but I ride my MT09 on gravel with mates somewhat regularly and the filter packs up fast. I run a washable K&N style filter to save replacing constantly, I see DNA have released a washable element for the 450MT already so that's a good option. The biggest issue with paper filters is if you ride in a humid (or early morning, or fog etc) & dusty environment they pack up quickly as the dust becomes mud on the paper element, anything to reduce this is a good idea, that said they don't last great with heavy dust even w/o the humidity but at least you can blast them off with an air compressor... Printing up something to fit a prefilter sounds like a good solution to help avoid constant washing until FW Filters or one of the other major players release a foam solution :-)
I'll be interested to see what you come up with!

But cars have paper filters and they're fine in dirt conditions?

This bike looks so familiar to the way the Versys x300 is made.

M8 check if it's well fited, that system it's very similar to the ktm 890 adventure, and the bottom plastic part should lock the top, in the ktm there's a rail to fit it.

I wonder if there is a reusable air filter available? K&N might sell them.

I'm sure it's coming. I know some people are seeing if the T7 pre filter one will work, as the 450mt has a similar air box style. I might even design and 3d print a different lid to the air box but will have to wait for a rainy weekend to do that. It's too fun to ride!
