I love your collection of Acer I’m struggling with my Acer because of a squirrel 🐿️ he keeps eating the leaves 🍁 and snapping off the young branches to eat the leaves 🍁 and I’ve never known a squirrel 🐿️ to do this before eating leaves 🍁 but it is causing die back this year very bad but I love 🧡 the squirrel 🐿️ and the Japanese Acer so I’m at a dead end, nature I suppose lol 😂
You are possibly right as it dos'nt have7 lobes to each leaf, but it does react differently to seasonal changes compared to the other 2 Katsuras i have . I have never questioned it before as it was bought as an Orange Dream but now you have pointed it out i tend to agree with you. I will observe its form with new interest next spring as at the moment that tree has shed its leaves , the other 2 are in different stages of autumn changes . Thanks for letting me know .i also have about 6 other trees that i didn't show on the film as i have no idea what they are . Thanks again I'll try and amend it in spring.
Beautiful display of Japanese Maples. I’m extremely impressed with your garden. In a previous post you said you planted them in pots which are buried into the soil. Depending on growth habits, do you repot into larger pots as the tree grows ? Thankyou
Good morning Eleanor, Depending on how big I wish the tree to grow is the deciding factor . As I do not have a large garden but I do have lots of trees I've got to keep them under control. I do have a UA-cam film titled Japanese Maples Repotting which explains how I do this . yes is the answer to your question ,but trim the roots and treat them like large Bonsai. I hope this helps regards. T.M.Morgan
Really enjoyed this video thank you for sharing your knowledge and your garden with us..
Very good tour! Lots of information and showing more mature trees is extremely helpful. Learned quite a bit , thank you!

Your shiraz is actually one of the "Ghost" cultivars. Shiraz is very similar to the Geisha Gone Wild cultivar.
Your "Orange Dream" is actuelly Katsura :)

@@terencemorgan6714 Thankyou Terence for your reply. I had a look at your repotting video , very well explained
How do the trees stand up to the hot U.K. summers? Do you need to water regularly?
Did I hear you say in one of the videos most of the trees came from garden centres and supermarkets?
Do you trim them?
Do you have a similar display at front of house?
