Guthrie first tried a pair of the Laney LFR-212 wired in Stereo on the Japan tour in Feb 2023. Then he decided to go with the LFR's on the EU 2023 tour and used them on every single show. Moving forward he's all in. Same with Devin Townsend who's even using a pair of the new LFR-412 in stereo for his Dry signal with an LFR-112 on top of each putting out his Wet signal. On top of that, Justin Derrico has just started using the LFR-212's with Pink as well. Justin also plays through Fractal. There's more players using the Laney LFR, but there's a good taste for you of what's going on.

Nice!!! Thank you for these updates. I didn't know Justin was using the Laney's as well. Fun fact, I went to music school with Justin. Great guy and so damn good even back then.

@@ikeleahcim9904 You’re welcome. I hope you find it helpful & valuable. Also it looks like Guthrie is still using a Fractal with a cab on stage.

I have a pair of Atomic Amps CLRs and a pair of Red Sound MF-8 Pro. The CLR's seem to sound and feel a bit better, that is if they are not broken. Other people that own Redsound MF10 Pro seem to like the CLRs better. I am ditching my CLRs because both of mine eventually broke down after home studio use. I highly recommend to stay away from them because their customer service doesn't respond to emails. I would Love to try a pair of Laney 2x12 or 4x12. I wish the 4x12 was in stereo. None of the local music stores stock these. I am on the fence of trying a pair of Laney 1x12 or Fender FR-12. They also make FR-10. I think the trade off is that the Heavy Cabs probably sound better than the Lighter Cabs. Will the Laney 1x12 provide that proper feedback similar to the LFR-212?

@@guitarbasslessonsbyjamesro1358 Unfortunately I don’t know because I haven’t used the Laney Cabs. My guess is that with proper EQ & enough volume, you should get it to feedback

I own the 212 cabinet and when you apply the use of low and high cut eq the cabinet sings and sounds absolutely incredible. As much as real cabs have more definition and clarity, for a musician who needs to play a wide range of genres and sounds the Laney LFR 212 is an excellent choice of speaker to pair with a modeller. Guthrie and Jack Gardner both use these cabinets and sound great through them. I am a function band musician myself and these cabinets are perfect for that kind of gig.

That was just a one-off gig sponsored by Laney, most probably. I couldn't find any other gig where Guthrie is using this setup.

Yeah I’m having a hard time finding photos of his current setup. For sure he using the FM9.
