    There are people that worry about their lenses growing fungus, then there are people that put their lenses a few inches away from wild mushrooms repeatedly and hold them there.
    Kudos to you and thank you for showing us things we may have overlooked!

      I didn't even think of fungus growing on my lens, I was more scared of it harming me 😂

    Nice job, Jamie. Your "springtail" is the larva of a beetle, I can't tell to which family it belongs. Cheers from coastal Southern California, USA.

    I just love your videos! You are such a natural on camera and I was dreading winter because of the lack of insects to photograph but now I can't wait to get out and do some stuff like this! Thanks for the inspiration - from Australia! (Posting from my sons account, I am not a gunzel :-P )

      Much appreciated! I feel the same in the winter. I primarily shoot bugs but making this video has made me wanna go out more in the winter to shoot macro.

    The first fungus is a Xylaria hypoxylon, completely safe to touch

      Thanks! I do not do workshops at the moment. But I do plan on doing some in depth tutorial type stuff at some point (perhaps in the summer)

    Great content as always Jaime! What's with the Raynox “holder” on top of the Cygnatech logo? Is that a new feature that Brendan is offering or your own innovation? Tired of forgetting which pocket I stashed it in when I last used it🤔

      Thanks! When I started the channel, Brendan sent me a prototype to use. I think he sells them with holders now, but you'll have to message him to find out for sure.

    Does the camera auto focus stack for you? Or is it you moving back and forth & then u stack in post??

    • @JamieSpensley
      @JamieSpensley  5 місяців тому +1

      I set it to take all the frames for me then I stack them in post. You can stack in camera but it will be a jpeg rather than raw

      @@JamieSpensley Ok clever..this is why im considering the Olympus system. I got sony and focus- stacking is a struggle. Anyway thanks for your reply & keep on taking great shots!

      He is taking shots with different objects in focus and stacks them, so the final picture is sharp. Google Focus Stacking, im not good at explaining it in english.

    • @boothmeister6024
      @boothmeister6024 3 місяці тому +1

      @@luzifer9976 I get the focus stacking. He just doesn't appear to be moving the camera at all? I wondered if it was that or if he was just trying to maximise his chances of a sharp image.

    • @luzifer9976
      @luzifer9976 3 місяці тому

      @@boothmeister6024 Oh in focus stacking you are not supposed to move the camera. The camera position needs to stay the same, only the focus is changed. Multiple pictures are taken, all with different focus distance and those pictures are then blended, to create the stacked picture. If you move too much, the final picture will be blurred.

    • @JamieSpensley

      My camara has automatic focus bracketing. So I keep the camera still and the camera will capture all the focal planes for me

    Nature goes on 24/7 x 365 it doesn't stop, in time you'll know what to look for, when and where.
