I am always thinking if any RX-7 or RX-8 that has a rotary engine worth it? If I ever bought a RX-7 FD that needs some work, I would probably restore it as factory as possible to make a serious profit.

I used to own an FC. Most fun car I ever owned. I was in over my head though and didn't do too many research so I had to let it go when things got too much to handle.
Having owned all of the RX-7s, I can confidently say it is not a mistake. I've had a Series 1 with a 13b NA RX4 motor that hit 195WHP, pretty awesome for a non-bridgey. I had a Series 5 with 400HP, that car was a quick affair, loved it, sold her on. BBS LMS, coil-overs. The FD though is next level. I must say, be prepared to triple your budget. I bought the car for 30kaud, new motor new everything, haltech, turbo, exhaust, carbon aero, feed widebody, v-mount setup,, twin gates, work gt53p and the list goes on and on etc etc and we're nearing 100k. With any car, so long as you love it, doesn't matter what anyone thinks, so long as you don't think it's a mistake. FYI, if you're thinking about one, none of my motors have ever blown up on me, just use a reputable builder that doesn't cheap out! :)
Love that this series is back, but the only criticism I have is the FI audience gag. Subtley roasting your guests, wheel slaps, chaotic editing and Beat Run totally makes the show IMO. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the awesome work ♥
Brooo you have a PFC remove the OMP! Ever since I removed the OMP on my FC (3 years ago) it's ran cleaner and better. Or I guess you could do a sohn style adapter

i think part of the reason they got such a bad rap is people just dont check their oil as often as they should. My cousin with his FC will top off his oil every second trip to the gas station. As long as that thing was full of oil it never let him down. I remember one time he was having a hard start issue thinking his apex seals went bad. My auto tech teacher who worked for mazda back in the day said to pour some gear oil down the intake runners and let it sit for a moment. Apparently it helps pull the apex seals back out cuz they'll stick into the rotor a bit and not seal. But sure enough later that day he said it started up shortly after and was driving it around for another couple years until he traded for another FC that just looked nicer really. but that car too seemed to run and drive fine. and he thoroughly enjoyed those cars. Id say the FD is on the bucket list

Luckily the forums literally cover everything, even how to turbo a 6 port NA if you want to blow 15K. If you can read, you can successfully own an RX7.
if your new into the automotive scene and just trying to get your feet wet... a Rotary is not the way.. your going to hate cars a rotary engine VS a piston engine is like the difference between school nurse VS a surgeon, most people dont even no rotaries need a premix in the fuel

Do your research. And if you’re not mechanical inclined and blow your motor, expect to pay $6000+ for a decent rebuild. Prices vary between models.
