Awesome that URD made the new car a free download if you already bought their original 992 mod. Raced about 100hrs in AC with the original URD 992 which was a fave, but this extensively updated version feels even better. Truly excellent. No it isnt. IER`s Porsche GTA feels much more like a racing porsche. It has porsche characteristics done right - you have to be precise at the wheel, you feel front lifting up faster you go, far rear back when making sudden changes in direction (I use this for better car rotation) , and usage of grip on rear wheels out of slow corners due to weight of the engine being on top of them. BTW, IER invented extended physics for AC since the standard one wasn`t good enough for them. Now every serous modding team is using it for their development also. This URD porsche is better than it was previously before that racing driver tips. But it still feels way too light and gripy on all wheels. You can rotate car easier than before though. IER is slower car, since it`s from 2015 season, but if any of you wants to know how it feels to drive racing porsche - that car is a freakin pinacle of car simulation. And it`s free.
@@Markomaniax IER's GTA is brilliant, but it shouldn't be compared to modern GT3 car. There is a decade worth of racing engineering between them. 911 GTA deserves it's own spotlight instead of being compared to current cars. It is criminally underrated.
@@PJohann It is. I`am comparing only the level of realism and details implemented so the car feels authentic, regardless of car`s performance on same track. IERs Porsche is probably the best simulated car in AC. Again, it`s not fastest racing porsche, any modder can make porsche gt3 stick to road as hell, but the point is to get the feel that you are driving that car with those characteristics.

Haven't tried the update yet but excited to think it could be better than the 1.0 because yes that car is fantastic. Definitely feels more alive than even the best RSS cars i have, and i own most of their stuff. Also check out the Urd Radicals, see the SR10 XXR has had an update too. They have the same level of detailed ffb as the Darche imo. AC GT3s are some of my fave's in sim racing. Those and rf2 and LMU are amazing...makes up for the main weak spot in AMS2
Yes mate I do agree, I have downloaded the free Radical but I will purchase the others next month! Looking forward to trying them. Have you seen that the new season of LFM has GT3's for AC this time? Could be interesting. 😀
I own both of the mods. I have driven the URD version (pre update) for a long time and it felt good, but it was understeer paradise. As soon as RSS teased their 992 GT3R I was really anticipating that car. As soon as it came out I got it and drove it and it felt way more alive than the URD version. It has the correct BoP to race against the other RSS cars amd it feels more polished with the physics, the model, the textures and the sound. I haven't really driven the URD version post update because despite the 992 being a really good car, URD had some misses as well amd the car still doesn't seem to be as polished as the RSS version does. And I have connected with the RSS car way better than with the URD one. I think I will give it another shot though
@ReverendSimRacing the 1.0 version was really numb in the rear axle. You couldn't get it out with a setup and if you tried you often ended up with the car understeering and oversteering at the same time. It felt a bit too fast, it was over a second faster than all of the RSS cars due to the really powerful and oddly stable brakes. In the URD 1.0 you could brake almost 50m later and still carry more speed into the corner. Maybe I will find a 1.0 installation file somewhere for you to try
@ReverendSimRacing I had a look around my download backup folder and it seems that I had deleted the file. So you might have to ask around if anyone still has it
