Something that Jimmy Broadbent pointed out is how easy is to regain control of the car when u lose the grip. I dont really know how realistic it is but for drifting it surely seems fun
The grip seems "realistic" but the weight transfer isn't there. Most of those big unrecoverable slides IRL end up with you grabbing grip at the end pretty violently and getting in trouble that way. It's better than AC though. As someone with an E30 that I street drive and take to casual drift events, I can safely say EVERY drift car pack in AC is way too loose. My car puts down 220whp and absolutely does not blow its tires off in 3rd gear like even "low power" car packs do. More importantly, the same car with the same tires gets used for mountain road grip fun AND drift track days with just a tire pressure change. There are no drift cars in AC that you can drive like a normal person lol.
Because PoE is using EA for exactly what it was created for. The amount of times i've seen people defend any sort of Early Access and tell people that THEY don't understand what EA is is insane. EA was initially created as a means to help indie publishers fund their games to the finish line; the last few months when budgeting was getting tight. Its now been bastardized by every large publisher out there to basically put the burden of failure on the consumer because "well you bought it, you should have known". Thats ass, idc what way you cut it. Very few games are releasing into EA nowadays under the original purpose of EA and people are just bending over because "thats how it is". As if 505 Games doesn't pull in $40 mill a year. Lethal Company and Abiotic Factor are two more great examples of EA done right
Ur missing something very important that is the fact that kunos has done the same thing 2 times and they delivered a good final project in both cases, they are not bastardizing EA because they are doing the exact same thing they have been doing, which is working on the game with the community invested on it.
@@CorsaRides Hahahaha last night in fact, and then went and checked it out myself. Kind of bummed. I want a sim to have proper throttle and clutch behavior.
Early access, at least in this case, serves to give financial independence to the development teams as well as to mature it together with the community. If we don't want the iRacing model or the EA model, which are basically the two alternatives, this is the best one. Patience, it is version 0.1. If you don't want to buy it/support the development team, wait for 1.0 and that's it. On another note, I think it has a very solid foundation (physics, circuits, graphics and fun) and that sooner rather than later it will be more enjoyable. 20 dollars here in Latin America is a gift for a game that can last 10 years. As of February 1st it will cost 25 dollars, and with time it will go up. It is a matter of buying it now, and playing it later. I do not understand those who complain, it is better to be able to pay little, to experience something of what the new version is about, without being left with the anxiety and intrigue for another year of how it could be. Let's be thankful that a game is already among us that over time will surely mature well as AC1. If Kunos were FIRST, LLC (responsible for iracing) EA, Ubisoft or Bethesda, of course we would have to demand that they stop the nonsense and release a final version at once. But we are talking about Kunos, a developer that already gave us 2 games that although they may have problems, they stand out very well in several aspects (AC mods and content, ACC graphics, realism, tracks) and that although they have money, they will never have the cushion of the 3 that I mention above which evidently makes the Early Access to finance something heavier that comes from development. I think that if there is a company that has given us quality, that has been Kunos and in this case, on top of a price for half of a full one, you can trust them a lot and it is normal that there are 400 bugs, since it is not about giving 2 clicks and fix all the bugs in a game, it requires testing, reverse programming, testing on several different devices, etc.. Now, if at the time that version 1.0 comes out the story is the same or there are more errors and bugs, we have to go all in avalanche to not buy the game or to ask for refunds, because in a final version you are forbidden that, since it is not about praising for praising, but for the moment, Kunos has ALWAYS given us quality.
People give this game a lot of grace for it's shortcomings in a way I didn't think existed anymore. They say when you really want to like something you become more empathic.
Not making too much of it, presently. VR is for the most part a non-starter upon the initial EA release. Something funky going on with rendering and general performance. That being said, when I got it to cooperate enough with my 4090 and VP2 HMD, I concur with your assessment on the feeling behind the wheel. Lots of promise, notice some interesting departures from AC and ACC where FFB, suspension and tires are concerned with the MX5 cup and 992 GT3 cup cars. Feeling under braking seems to be much improved. Assuming Kunos can polish this turd to be as shiny a gem as they did with AC and ACC's relatively abysmal EA launches, I think there's some great potential.
You got the wrong sense of "still." There's been lots of speculation, as shown in the comments displayed in the video, that AC's "gone arcade" just because it's including a free-roam mode. This is an investigation to see if it's *still* a hardcore racing sim at its core.
What is find funny is that they probably could've added more cars knowing what sort of assets they have but. They probably want to completely new scan of the models
This is an Early Access, not the final version. Kunos is working to make this game better it can be. The potential of this game is big and certainly this game, in the future, becomes a very good and realistic simulator (like the Assetto Corsa 1 and Assetto Corsa Competizione or even better).
The AI behaves exactly like in AC. Divebombs you, turning into you crashing you and the AI into the wall before the corner. Overtake in the turn? nope, AI goes full throttle and drives you out of the track. On AC it seems like its only when you are close to the AI they do stupid shit, but on EVO they do the same stupid shit even if you are not close to them.
Wow, they definitely made sure the AI is simulating the open lobbies now. No need to work on that TBH. 100% multiplayer experience without playing online.
early access to me is all about; is there a base game here, that can be built upon in years to come? and yes i do. watching some streamers yesterday (not you james), rant about what a bad game this is.. embarrassing to say the least.
Any thoughts on braking James? It was one thing that ACC didn't seem to simulate very well with flat out max force on the brake pedal to get the shortest stopping distance.
I cannot describe how disappointed I am to see those "ac evo = simcade" comments. Kunos is trying to put as much fun content into this game as possible and the way these people dismiss it just rubs me the wrong way. What, are you sad you can do more than just race around the same handful of tracks in the same handful of cars like any other sim? If you told me people would get mad at the concept of a 1,600 square kilometer open world racer with simulation physics I wouldn't believe you. Yet here we are.
Sir, when you talk about the original AC suspension being awkward (what I agree) you are considering it a generic issue with all it's content (both original Kunos made and mods) or there is a particular mod (or more than one) that solve it? I'm asking because want to understand if it's an issue with Kunos particular vision of car modeling, a technical engine limitation (since content and physics were done in the past by different folks) or both. Anyway... ACE seems to be one more sim that will require some years (maybe four) to be an enjoyable product and probably way more than that to mature enough to overcome the original AC with it's best mods. PS: Niels Heusinkveld released a video (complementary with an older one) pointing that the throttle model of ACE is the same twenty years old also used by all other Kunos games that is pretty outdated. Do you share any of his opinions? Thank you for this video and cheers!

In software terms it's an aplha, not even close to beta yet. But that's what EA usually is. First you get all the bases covered and mature. Then you add the rest of the content (which is usually relatively simple, but just costs a lot of time).
Sure you can say that in a real racing car with power steering you cant feel much through a wheel but thats not what simracing should be because in simracing you need that feel to compensate for not having the feel on your bum whilst the car is going around corners and not having the motion of being shaken around (motion systems exist and the buttkicker) but they arent perfect and quite expensive
If you disable all dampening effects, the FFB is getting quite alive and so far the strongest aspect of the game, but the physics didn't convince me so far and reminds me of Forza from the understeer, but the version I was playing regularly, had quite a bit more oversteer in it, which I think they dialed down in the meantime. I haven't tried this car, but most of the others and couldn't feel this managing under- and oversteer on the limit, just the understeer, which feels a bit disappointing together with the poor performance, AI with no damage and career-mode at all so far. It's certainly much better than ACC 0.1 or even 1.0 regarding physics, but it's 2025 now and LMU, AMS2 or rF2 can provide a more immersive driving experience IMO. Not sure with Forza nowadays, but the first months it had the most difficult to drive GT3-cars in sim-racing and not just GT3. I spon a lot by overstretching the limit a bit. Maybe ACE has this as well if tweaking the setups.
Just somthing to note, Calling the Samsung 49inch 1440p seems a little incorrect when discusing fps since its 5120x1440 and not the standard 2560x1440. From personal expirence I got quite a few more fps on my 2560x1440 then I do my Samsung 49inch G9.

I think the FFB and physics definitely feel good. Feels like a hybrid of AC and ACC, +. Sounds and visuals are good as well. Personally for me, the AI is the biggest thing that needs fixing, because as seen in the video, it feels like a bottom split iRacing lap 1 session. They do feel more race-y imo compared to AC, but the divebombs and rear-ends are crazy.

Lots of speculation that AC's gone "arcade" just because it's including an entirely optional free-roam mode, as shown by the comments displayed in the video. Just trying to dispel that notion
Pretty junk video sorry. EVO is 1 day old for EA and a ton of us have been testing this for months already. All the "influencers" are trying to stir up drama for no reason. It's not iRacing, and it's ok that it's not.
This is my problem man. It’s getting incredibly frustrating that these creators are putting out such unfinished products to fund their development. I don’t know why anyone has become ok with this practice these days? It’s unacceptable if you ask me. Stop releasing unfinished products. Simple as that. Finish it and then release it. Fix bugs along the way. Add content along the way. But stop releasing such unfinished products for people to fund. Wait till it’s ready.

Hello James and thanks for this video! 🙏 Come on, this is Assetto Corsa Evolutione Early Access. You simply can title it like this. You are not the only one making this mistake. Why? On purpose?
