💯💯 lot of this journalists opinion is merely bias. Sports and eras come down to rules being changed all the time where the players benefit from it stats wise. Also possibly why you see Tom Brady still playing at his age. Quarterbacks are protected in today's game unlike the past eras. Its impossible to compare players past and present for numerous reasons. Even Jordan has mentioned this respectfully

MJ is the GOAT, but Steph is def a HoF.
Also, I think this dude completely missed Jordan’s point. He wasn’t answering who the all-time Top 5 were, he was answering who are the four dudes he’d want to go into a pick-up basketball game with. Jordan, even in his own answer, said “I played against and with all these guys. I’m going with who I know.” Then this dude asks why he didn’t have Kobe, LeBron or KD in there - why? Because he didn’t play those guys anywhere near as often as he played with Magic, Scottie, Worthy and Hakeem. So basically, Jordan told him he’d want to play with guys whose entire game he knew, and this guy responded with “why not take three guys from the next generation?” 😂 Because he doesn’t know them as well as he knows those other guys!
Plus, if you’ll notice, MJ picked players by position. He picked Magic for PG, obviously himself for SG, Pippen and Worthy for the wing positions, and Hakeem at Center. Throwing a Kobe in there would replace MJ in the game, thereby invalidating your whole question! What would be the point of that?! You can’t play two SGs at the same time. I mean, you can, but that’s not good fundamentals.
If you wanted to know his Top 5 players of all-time, that’s the question that should have been asked. That wasn’t the question that was asked, though.

  • @2009kdizzle

The “Curry revolutionized the way teams are picked” is such a weak argument. You are comparing Jordan’s era to the current era. That is not a great comparison.
I say that because today’s NBA era is soft compared to Jordan’s era. And with softness comes the need for more shooters than posters. Stephan Curry didn’t revolutionize the game. He just came into a soft league, and because of that he became a great shooter due to the lack of toughness. Curry wouldn’t have the numbers he has now, if he played in Jordan’s era. That is why that is a weak argument.

Curry is always being labeled a “shooter”, but he’s so much more than just that. His shooting ability keeps defenders on their toes. His handles allow him to get to any spot on the floor without being this freakishly quick player. He’s also one of the best finishers at the rim for a point guard. Even though he’s not going to dunk it on someone, he’s gets in there and finishes with a array of shots and it’s rare that he gets his shot blocked. He’s also 75th in rebounds, which doesn’t sound impressive but think of all the centers and forwards in the game. 30 teams times 3 (center, pf and sf) is 90 which means he’s rebounding more than that 15 of them. He’s an exceptional passer as well. Curry isn’t just a shooter.

I don't think Jordan feels like today's players go out there and as he said "represent greatness". They don't leave their blood sweat and tears on the floor anymore. They halfway play most of the time and show up when they feel like it. They don't like to practice, they don't like to do anything that inconveniences them. You hear players from the past say all the time they felt they owed it to the fans to be on that floor, because who knew if some poor family who may be there for only once in their life were there to see them play. These guys today love themselves, not the game, and that's pretty evident. There is no redeeming quality to the way the game is played today. There is no heart, there is no competitiveness, and there is no intensity, and above all, certainly no love for the game of basketball.

If curry retired right now he definitely would be a first ballet hall of famer

This defense of Curry is just dumb. Yes he’s awesome and will one day be a HOFer. But not necessarily atm. He still has work to do to fully cement his place.

No. Curry couldve retired the day of Jordans comment and he would be a for sure HOFer. Hes already had a better career than McGrady , Kidd , Nash, Radja, Divac, Mutombo, Richmond, Mourning, Payton and others. Most of those guys never won MVPS or NBA titles
