  • DIY custom high-clearance rear bumper with integrated hitch for an additional 5-inches of ground clearance. We take it out for a test run in the Idaho mountains! Love my fam :'}

    Nice! I might have to do this to my van. The oversized spare tire mixed with the town hitch/package definitely hangs low. Thank you

    Great looking van! What size tires are you running, and did you modify anything to make them fit?

      Thanks! 265/75r16 AT Goodyear Wranglers on OEM 8-lug wheels. No modifications are necessary but I added 2" spacers to the rear to increase the track width and replaced the front springs (old ones were 2013 originals and had lost about 1/2")

    What became of the spare? Is it just higher now, or did you remove /relocate it?

      I had it on the roof rack for a while. Didn't love the look or knowing all that weight was up so high, so I did end up putting it back underneath but I modified the carrier to pull the tire up closer under the body.

      Wheels are the original Ford 8-lug steel wheels. I painted the wheel covers gloss black except for the fake lug nuts which I kept the original silver.
