For everyone wondering, this only works when the dlc "old world blues" is installed. Without it, you can't select the skilled perk.

Not sure which is more amazing: the fact that this glitch was found a decade after the game was released OR that we have a new reason to start this game over from the beginning AGAIN

Whats cool about this is it lets you take more of the cool gameplay enhancing perks without sacrificing skill potential. And i like the fact you can use it in a balanced way, doesnt have to be 100 everything.
That's absolutely right. You certainly can but you don't have to take full advantage. You can also potentially ignore a number of level perks as you won't need them anymore and can focus on a more playstyle or build sort of way.
I just got my little sister into fallout but she gets frustrated when she cant do the skill checks. I am gonna give her this AND use it myself for fun. Thank you.

The Fallout show REALLY sparked the love for New Vegas once again. The best part? This stuff WILL NEVER be patched out. Its a holy grail of OPness. I salute you.
I love it too. You can tell that I have been playing a lot longer than the shoe but the show has 200% pulled some folks back into the groove.
This is probably the only channel where i find out new things about a game i thaugt i know everything about.
And also gets me back to playing every time.

Trust me, I know the feeling. I found out about it years ago and when I did it helped me bigtime to get my skills up quickly. I stopped fishing for skill books and picking skill boosted perks. It’s pretty cool to learn that for vanilla play, you can take the Skilled perk right at Doc Mitchell’s house and Skilled again outside of Goodsprings for an extra +10 for all of your skills
That's absolutely right. If you then decide to take the trait again in The Old World Blues, you will end up with a total of +15 instead.

@@silversabith It's really interesting. I've known about this glitch for years myself and have been using it for a very long time. I had no idea that this was not a very well known glitch. Apparently it was somewhat unknown ha ha.
@Trapped In Fallout I have always planned the stat resets to my advantage to have what I needed to pass all the checks needed before I triggered them then reset to what I would use after to actually level. Never paid attention and realized I was giving myself free skill points at the start of the game 😆.
@@silversabith And that's just one of the many things that a lot of folks have done. Many of us have probably used glitches, got unique weapons and more and never even realised it lol. I mean, I know I have.

@RandomEnclaveSoldier Nope it works across all platforms as long as you have the Old World Blues DLC installed. Try select with and without the wild wasteland trait.
I'm currently trying to do it right now and it doesn't work. I fold the tutorial completely and everything isn't being kept. I have all the DLC so I don't know what's going on
Interesting, I never heard of this glitch before. I joined New Vegas recently and did the Chet glitch for a maxed out Courier. It was tedious, but worth it. 😅
Yeah, it's another solid glitch. It's something that I also covered alongside the Perks glitch. But in my book this Max 100 PioBoy skills glitch has to be the most broken and easy to perform one.

@@WhimsicalLittledawg Sadly that's one of the downsides of using glitches. Often they can make things easier/broken but also make things more fun and interesting. It depends on how you see it really.
@@TrappedInFallout yeah, recently I've been trying to play games like New Vegas or Skyrim without glitches that break the game, but I do use minor glitches like using ammo for any gun in New Vegas or the chest one in Skyrim.
@@WhimsicalLittledawg That's good to hear. It's nice to use glitches and exploits in moderation. I do the same with mods. I don't install game changing mods but I do use mods to help with game performance and random crashes......they still happen though.

Ha ha nice one. I am actually thinking of making a Start FNV as a God guide for the near future which would basically be something alone the lines of what your saying. Holy, that would be a very one sided battle at The Dam.
I did the Chet glitch, but honestly I hate not being able to help Goodsprings. This glitch will allow me to save Goodsprings and hit max skills, great work man, you earned a sub!
Thanks so much Rudy. I generally like Goodsprings and use it as a homebase for all of my 'good' playthroughs. It does feel very homely, nice folks and somewhat feels sheltered away from all the harshness.
100+ hours been worried about doing a new run and having to do the grind to max level and max skills this has definitely made me wanna start a new run
It really does help and can make the experience interesting in other ways. Just make sure that you have the Old World Blues DLC installed to see the Skilled trait before restarting.
If you do it a couple of times past 100, the skills go beyond 100, and any skill debuff will not affect you as much. The same happens with SPECIAL to.

@@Commrade-DOGE It's a pretty OP glitch when considering what can be done with it.
I started a new play through to try this. The very first earned skills got me wondering if when all skills are 100, would the game get stuck. Notice there is no option to skip you must use all the points.
@@jerryrose6895 Once you have 100 in all skills, the game give your 0 skill point so you basically end up skipping the skills page.
The perk glitch appears any time you re-select the perk. Even when using the auto dock in old world blues..
So without the infinite loop glitch, you can give yourself a triple boost from that perk.
The first time it's selected, the second time when you re-build your character, ( and at this point you're at +10) you can then select it again at an autodoc for a total of fifteen points. So if you're afraid of bugging your game, (as sometimes using this kind of glitch can) you can instead get free points in a less invasive way, to max out all skills to 100 over time.
Yeap, that's right. I actually covered the just take it twice when you leave Goodsprings but as you said you can also take it a third time to in hopes of maxing out all your skills naturally while playing the game. It's a great way to get plus 15 to all skills 😄👍. Many thanks for sharing your advice, much appreciated.
And if you know where all the skill books are, you can go exploring for them right from the start and be a master of all trades and a jack of none.
@@NoActuallyGo-KCUF-Yourself some of them are in kinda hard spots like the one in the Fiend vault where if you want to do certain quests without them breaking you have to do them in a specific order whichll make that book likely one of the last books you’ll get, also make sure you take the perk that increases the skill points you get from reading skill books

No problem at all. I would suggest that you carry on and play your current playthrough as there are reward for paying the game as it was intended to be played. That said you can have another playthrough going in parallel for another way of playing. But it's totally up to you Shade.

Cheers bro I used this trick today after seeing this vid, it took me soooo long to get the pip boy in the correct position. Most of the time it was barely on the screen, I got it as close as I could and finished on all skills in 80s and highlighted ones in the 90s so after a couple of levels I got everything maxed out 🤘
That's awesome, nice once. You don't have to get all the skills to 100 but getting them high enough and then levelling up should do it.
Nice very useful, been doing multiple playthroughs with different builds, saves so much time not having to slog through the grind

Man. It's not as OP as the double perk glitch where you can start the game at max level, but it's a LOT faster!
Yeap, it's a lot faster for sure. It does depend how you look at it also. How about this, if you can get all your skills to 100 at level 1, for the rest of the game you won't need to ever think about leveling up for skills, you will not need to get any perks that boost skills and you will not need to gather skill books or anything like that for skill boosts. Instead you can focus on perks solely for effects like crit hits, sneak etc. You can invest in perks like Intense training etc. Or better yet, you can combine both the glitches for a truly OP start.
@@TrappedInFallout So this glitch doesn't add a -10% penalty to experience gained every time you select the trait? Does it only apply that once, if at all?
@@moddable6921 Your right. It applies the -10% XP just the once and not for each time you select the Skilled trait. I hope this answers your question.

There's also a glitch if you go into the General Store and talk to Chet.. there' speech check and you can keep clicking on that speech check option. I'm always max level by the time I leave Goodsprings
Yeap that's absolutely right. In fact I covered that in one of my videos earlier this year (or last year). You can combine this with the Perks glitch too, another video I covered. It's really amazing just how powerful you can be by the time you leave Goodsprings lol.

@@shogunpug4071 Yeap and chances are if your trying to hit the max level then it may be longer than an hour. Still, it's quicker and way more easier.
This happened to me with Deputy Beagle's speech check too, It got me to level 30 before I called it a quit.

Thank you for this video! I used to do the leather armour and 9mm ammo glitch on the take over of good springs quest to get xp and level up that way but this is so much easier! Unfortunately I couldn’t get myself up to the same level as you I’m not as good at setting it but I got to level 72 on my skills besides the 3 I selected so I’ll use the xp glitch for the rest of them
72 is not bad at all. You will be able to get the rest to 100 by levelling up normally which is nice. Thanks Harry for checking out my video.

I've just started playing NV. I have to say, despite it's age, and I'm only at level10, to me it's way better than 4. Honestly, I am over FO4. I'm going to complete my first run-through and then use this glitch to maybe level up 15 before leaving town. I'm amazed, people like your good self are still putting content out. Currently still works 11-24-2023. Done on Xbox series S. With Old World Blues dlc. Make sure you don’t stop spamming your pip boy no matter how far you go past the rebuild point. I had that issue at first but got it to work

Been playing a modded playthrough for a bit and I thought I'd start all over when I found this. Seems like the way Skilled applies bonus skill points persist through a respec compared to using commands. Nice to find this!
It's an easy to pull off glitch, and better yet nice as you can do it as soon as you start a new game.

You could probably save a little closer to the barrier. It is hard to tell where it is but if you can walk a few steps you could just save as long as the edit screen doesn't come up. Also you only need to pick one trait. Not 2
Very good points, thanks for sharing. Actually the edge earlier then what was shown in the video. Basically by opening and closing the PipBoy I managed to extend the edge of the Goodsprings exit area. On the note if selecting just one traitz your absolutely right and I could have saved a little time by not doing that. Thanks for sharing 👍

Imagine coupling this with the glitch to max Level 50 before leaving Goodsprings & get extra perks while doing the speech check for Chet over and over. Best way to make a perfect character, even if SPECIAL can't be maxed out.
Yeah, I think is possible. On the note of the Specials, I actually working ok this on the background in hopes I can create a guide for Max FNV Specials guide. Nuts it proving to be very difficult.

Amazing that this game is still being played today. It was my favorite fallout. And amongst the polls Iv seen many agree that this one was the best of all of them. They really need to put time in making part 2. It’s even more amazing that this game had like 2 years worth of time to make this game lol. Talk about being rushed and it being a good game. Love this game man lol
I totally agree. In more recent times, it seems to take a super long time to get a game out and when it is out it does not really love up to expectations. I do personally feel games that were made decades ago in a shorter amount of time were also more playable. Not always out of the box but good enough with some day 2 patches. It's a shame that we may yet need to wait at least 6 years until a new Fallout game.
I didn’t know you could loop it, I thought I was crazy rebuilding my character and getting an extra 5 points to all skills when I first figured this out
Your not the only one ha ha. So many did this without realising it. It's so OP too, you can get a pretty good start within like 5 minutes of starting a new game.

Thanks bud for checking out my video. Yeah, it certainly does go a long way in not having to look for all the skil books. However fun they may be, I always found it that I had to go out of my way to do it. But it's nice also if you want a little bit of a break from things.

Thanks bud. I actually have known this one for years. I have no idea how it came about or where I picked up the info from. It's basically not a very common or well know glitch but it seems it has been the inspiration of many folks starting a brand new playthrough in recent times lol.

I totally agree, it's a nice to be able to get going really quickly. It's also nice that you don't really need any setup or prep work, just the DLC to get the skilled trait.

Took a personal day while my son is at school and saw this video while doing the chet glitch. I've been playing new vegas since high school and am so happy I can get back into different characters even quicker.
I'm really happy to hear that. I do hope that it works out. Playing NV is a lovely way to start the year. Quick tip, make sure to save just before you do the glitch. That way you can easily start multiple playthroughs in the near future.
But what about when I level up? It'll show that you have to assign 15 skill points before you can continue. I'm gonna look up a video where you can have all SPECIALS 10 in the meantime.
Thanks for your comment. When you level up, if you have 100 in all skills then the game basically gives you 0 skill points. So you end up skipping the skills page when you level up.

I’m pretty sure the glitch requires certain perks to be chosen because I was choosing Skilled (obviously) and built to destroy and it would not budge at all. But as soon as I chose wild wasteland, it started to go up. Along with a few other ones.
Yeah that's right. I'm notbsure why but for some folks it only works when selecting these two traits, for others just the Skilled trait is fine.
Seeing new vegas content in 2023 make me so happy, great vid!

I no longer have to find skill books and do old world blues after getting stats to 97 thank u finally and i can do any quest without needing to have the right skill stat pre plan gone woo hoo
That's absolutely right, no more hunting down Skill books for the sake of raising skill points. But of course your welcomed to if you wish to collect them from a collector's point of view ha ha.
There are multiple of each skill book for each skill, I think there’s at least 4 for all of them, meaning that if you have the perk that gives you +4 skill for each book instead of +3 you’ll only need to level up each skill to 84 and then collect 4 skill books for that particular skill to get it to 100
@@shadow-squid4872 Your absolutely spot on. And that's exactly what I do for my non glitch playthroughs. I don't read any of the skill books until I get a skill to 84. Some even less as the DLCs also have some skill books for some of the skills.
Nice I was worried the -10% xp debuff would stack also but it doesn’t. What I like about this also is that it doesn’t level you up so you can max everything out and grab the best perks as they become available by level
That's absolurely right, it helps to not need to worry about skills anymore and at the same time does not take away too much from the levelling up experience. In fact it sort of opens up more options when selecting perks.

I always hated having to kill Ringo for the XP glitch. I'm such a big softy when I play games like this, lol. So this glitch has saved my morality 😅
It's always nice to spare NPCs. I like to play a good guy myself and so always prefer to let NPCs run away (unless if they are truly evil).

No problem at all Monte Carlo. I do use jump cuts but only to cut out things that you don't really need to see. I try to use actually footage and opposed to camera shots as that's how we all see and play the game. Basically it feels more organic to me to see a video as a guide and follow along, not as a 'go here and do this' sort of thing.
Never in my life would I see a actual NEW glitch for fallout new vagas. You sir have given me hope in this world😂
Thanks Joe. It's actually not a new glitch. I ahve know this one for years but it's only recently I decided to make a guide for it. But it's only now that I know that this glitch was not a very well known one, apparently only a small group of folks knew about it. I had no idea myself, I thought it was known by many just like some of the other glitches.
If you do this you miss out on double perks you get from the Chet speech loop and that's why it's not as popular. Double perks allow you the flexibility to invest into intense training which if planned correctly can get you max special as well.
Sorry my friend but that's not true at all. I have it working and am working on a video explaining how it is possible to get max skills AND double perks at the same time 😉.
It's going to be a somewhat detailed guide and hope to have it ready soon. I also latch on max level and infinite ammo tricks too. Look out for my 'godly start guide for FNV' in the very near future.
This does work on xboxone as ive just done this glitch, but i think because the processing speed is slower than PC you can only get to around 65 max skills as base stats as the pip boy moves down much more as the menu takes much more time to open, even if you land it on a perfectly open pip boy as i have done a few times just to makes sure, still very useful, great vid bro!

That said thanks for confirming that it works on console, this will certainly help out anyone reading your comment. Also will help folks understand why it's harder to get to 100. That said, getting around 65 ha pretty good as you can get the remaining levels by traditionally levelling up and distributing points.
Yeah noticed that. Pip boy closes faster since the menu isn’t popping up as quickly as his does
This is pretty cool, I always knew that you could get a small bonus from taking skilled at the beginning and then changing it to whatever once you leave Goodsprings, but this is another level.
Might have to do a God run of new vegas soon.
Ha ha this has other benefits too. If your looking to play the game for achievements or to just get into things quickly without having to grind then this helps too. Also, it helps out folks who are not able to use Console Commands.
