I was born in Boston in 1955, moved to Mississippi in 1965 and grew up there. My dad was a HUGE Boston Bruin fan, instilled in me a love for Boston sports. At age 12, I lived through the Impossible Dream with Yaz and the Sox. The Bruins won two Stanley Cups while I was in high school. Of course the Celtics had that great winning tradition, was old enough to see Bill Russell win his last two championships in 1968 and 1969. But the Patriots were always middle of the road to terrible. Through the early days, through Jim Plunkett, to Tony Eason and Steve Grogan, and even Drew Bledsoe. Made it to a few Super Bowls, but realistically knew we wouldnt win. Then came the Goat. FIVE Super Bowl championships! The Celtics won again in 2009. Bruins in 2011. The Red Sox with THREE since 2000!!! But nothing compares to that first Super Bowl in 2001. We had no chance. Yet there we were, champions. Although there has been MUCH heartache over the years, Boston is definitely a City of Champions. I thank God everyday that I am a BOSTON sports nut. There is nothing else like us. We live and die with our teams. And once a BOSTON fan, it gets in your blood and can NEVER be excised. BOSTON RULES!!!!

Tom is the GOAT and anybody who disagrees doesn’t know what greatness is. LETS GET 6 BOYS, BOSTON STRONG, LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE.
No matter if you live in Ohio or like me, 45 minutes from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough or anywhere in the country...many feel the same way. Love them or hate them the Patriots have really become a phenomenon we won't soon see again. So enjoy it now...
