Thank you, I needed to replace a broken touch screen (2013 explorer) and your directions were perfect. It was especially helpful ordering a small set of plastic tools for interior work. No busted tabs.
Echoing what Evil Munky said, I just went through this on our 2011 Explorer and was able to get everything working by using a 30-something dollar ODBII adapter and Forscan with a one year license to program the APIM to match the as-built data. Like you, most things worked without programming, but a few things like the nav and heated seats weren't working on mine as I got the module from a 2014 F150 King Ranch with heated and cooled seats. 10 minutes of programming, though, and it worked perfectly in our Explorer.

Where can I find instrcutions to re-program anything I'll need to prolly heated seats, back camera, navigation etc?

I have a 2015 Ford Explorer. My dash looks exactly the same. My sun roof leaked on my touch screen and now nothing works. I can control somethings with my steering wheel controls but not the heated sheets, the rear AC/heat and no Bluetooth. Where can I find the module you replaced?

I would think the bezel may need to be replaced , with a good used one. I believe it is a part of the bezel or atleast sold that way. Thanks for watching.
I believe it will connect , but the only way to know for certain would be to pull it out and check the connectors. It could be made to work by someone , adding the connectors if not there already. Thanks for watching.

It almost sounds like the touch screen itself. You should be able to get one from near any ford , I would try and match atleast some of the numbers if possible. Make sure they offer free returns , worse case scenario. Thank you for watching.

Like I said I picked the cheapest one just as a trial run out of a taurus and it worked no problem. As others have stated you can program all the functions also with a laptop and a ob2 connector. Installed it today and everything works and my backup camera doesn't glitch anymore and no more crackling in my speakers..... thank you for this video it was super helpful... oh my Escape is a 2014 and the car I found it in was a 2013 . I looked for the one that said "Microsoft" . I noticed there was 2 different versions . I didn't take the screen either .My original screen looked way better . It took me 3 weeks to find it . Well worth it .

Worked without programming?
It did work but not all the functions. However they can be programmed fairly easy I have been told. Thanks for the question.
