Cool installation! I worked for the U. S. Census back in the Fall of 2020, and I had to try to find and document people/families that had not turned in a current census form. I was assigned an iPhone that had specific software uploaded, and each night it would have a list of addresses (no names!) downloaded that had a 2010 census on file, but no 2020 census had been turned in by the date required. Let's just say that in the rural counties in which I worked, it could be a challenge to find the addresses on my list! A lot can happen in 10 years, and I drove my 2011 Dodge Durango R/T down a lot of "pig-trails" only to find an empty lot where a mobile home obviously used to be! To the point of this story, and how it relates to Tyler's video: I had 3 GPS sources to aid my quest. First, the iPhone had a GPS tied to the installed census software; second, I had my own cell phone with its' own GPS; and third, I had the OE GPS that came with my Durango. I had never updated the Durango's GPS, yet consistently it was the most reliable in finding addresses from 10 years ago! It was a bit funny (and disconcerting) to drive into a newer subdivision and seeing that the car's screen showed me sitting in a field of green with no connecting roads... even though I was on paved streets in a neighborhood! All in all, it was a fascinating job (for an old retired fart like me)... I met a lot of nice people, along with a few who eyed me with suspicion. It was particularly challenging dealing with quite a few people who had no idea what a "census" was, and obviously thought I was part of an elaborate scam to take their prized chickens and vehicles that were up on blocks! Great video, Tyler! Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you for posting, I have put a bid on one of these radio's on a auction site to install on my 2005 Dodge ram1500, but seeing that I will need to use a cd disc and how much they are asking for these radio's theses days, I'm rethinking is this really the way I want to go. I too love the look of a stock radio but functionality and price is telling me go new.
Cool, I didn't know factory nav radio was available , I got an aftermarket- cut the dash up radio with nav, back up cam , steering wheel compatible, cd-dvd , bluetooth .
Do you have any tips or feedback sticking OEM heated seats on a WJ? I heard rumors that the wiring harness is there if you have power seats, but don't know 100% if it's viable.
Hey Tyler, Awesome video. I read somewhere that if you add the uconnect rear view mirror from the same era Chrysler Town&Country you can have Bluetooth with this radio. Have you heard anything regarding this? Thanks again!
I personally haven't done this but my good friend just did this on his personal WJ and it works great, I believe he needed the mirror and a module or 2. Thanks for the view!
Yeah I think the newest map update was in 2012ish so just slightly outdated lol. Just last week though my poor RB1 screen died! So I think I have found a modern radio that still kind of looks like the RB1 for a replacement so be on the look out for that video once it shows up. Thanks for the view!
You can find them in early 2000's Jeeps and Chryslers. We find them locally in a lot of the higher trim level chrysler mini vans that get dropped off at out local salvage yards. Thanks for the view!

Wow that sounds really interesting! What a drive all over that would be! Thanks for the info and the view!

You have excellent taste when it comes to the WJ upgrades, what a great bud to score that out of the salvage yard.
I wanted to do it forever! It's just a cool looking OEM radio. Thanks for the view!
Clicked on the video after seeing the RB1 On the title , 100Percent Jake did the same on his PT cruiser and it is really cool
Great minds think alike! Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter 😊
Nice! I'm adding one with the changer and satellite radio to my '02 JGC Ltd. Nothing wrong with the RB1 upgrade.!
Sounds great! Thanks for the view!

Your newer aftermarket will do about 100 things more than this old thing but these are kind of a cool factory add on. Thanks for the view!
Tyler, is this inspired by Jake's PT Cruiser install lol?
No, I have wanted this darn radio since 2006 when I had my Jeep Wrangler but never got the parts together lol Thanks for the view!
Pretty cool Tyler I did the same for my E39 was way more expensive than I thought “L” and it’s out dated 🤣
BWM tax for parts is a real thing lol Thanks for the view!
Yesssss. RB1 all the things!
It's a cool looking thing at least lol
Jake probably won’t be using the “trail” feature in his PT Cruiser 🤣
Hey Tyler, thanks for sharing the Jeep update!!! I agree with you, I prefer original equipment rather than aftermarket!! 👍
Something about the OEM stuff just looks correct! Thanks!
Thinking about doing this on my 01 WJ what is the part number for the antenna wire connection.

I haven't personally done that install but I need to look into it on this Jeep.

How does the aux work?
Where buy this accesories for this radio ???
Yeah, the WJ is basically a Lego Jeep when it comes to options.
It's pretty awesome adding things for cheap!
Sucks you can’t still buy map updates. I would’ve thought some tech wizard could do that but it is likely harder than I realize.

Is the update for the air intake going to be released soon?
I need to get over to the buddies house and do that still. Sorry packing and moving has eaten up all my free time lol
What year is the radio I want one
