I was lucky to find one off of a Grand Cherokee Overland at a salvage yard. $20 for it and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t have a navigation disc, but I bought it mainly to have a “period correct” radio. Even though it’s really outdated, it works better than the factory unit.
just a reminder: if you off-roading, you need to install the bracket for wanglers. I'm going to reinstall mind in my Wj. along with the Oem: iPod integration, Sirius radio, Uconnect, and usb
Jamie E. Clark you got it! Not necessary, but highly recommend as it supports the back end of the radio. I actually did not install it in this specific Jeep. Nice on the OEM setup! Been looking all over for all of the pieces
Regarding the "Jeep" logo on startup: is that programmable? Did you have to set that up or change it from "Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Etc?" If I got one from an old minivan, would it be stuck on "Dodge" or could I make it say "Jeep?"
Hi to anyone that can help. I've just got my van 9 m ago and It didn't have a dice so I got 1 off line but I an get it to come up. Can someone tell me what to do. Thanks Jeffrey
I know you sold this TJ, but did you need to buy sny adapters for the radio? I just bought one but dont know if I need anything, both the radio and jeep is from 2004
Congrats! One day I’ll get another. You shouldn’t need any adapters, it’s all plug and play. Remove the existing radio, and plug the wiring harness that was going to that into the new radio.
Yep! Remove the old stereo, and this one clips right in to the factory harness. Nothing extra to wire. You do have to connect the GPS antenna and stick it somewhere underneath your dash though
@@daviddunkelberg4266 Perfect, thank you! A lot of the RB1 radio for sale on Ebay don't come with the GPS antenna (or Map CD). Thanks again for the info!
The RB1 is bigger than the factory radio. There’s a bracket behind the factory radio that you can bend out of the way slightly and it fits. Other than that, it plugs right up.
@@ontheMark72 No worries...yes, you'll need the GPS antenna. I used a 3M double sided sticky pad and mounted it to the underside of the top of my dashboard right in the middle, where the little tray is. Worked fine there, never fell down, even with heat and A/C.
David Dunkelberg it’s all good dude, I’ve recently got one myself and this was put together well and I was really interested into the stereo, as it looked stock.

What's the part number for this radio? The manual doesn't specify.
