Sir William … probably the best demonstration and explanation of the deployment and stowing away of a 180 degree awning on UA-cam ! Top notch instruction and easy for the laymen to understand … keep up the great work and videos 💪💪👍
I've missed you!!!! That awning seems doable solo, thank you!
The biggest bonus is not getting water in the rear of the truck when it's raining. Us truck campers are always fighting water that hits the open topper door (flip up) and drains right into our sleeping area inside the topper. Nice addition, William!
Love it bro! Looks like an easy set up
Good video… looks easy to setup and works well.
I love mine
Hell yeah!!! I’ve installed every single type of rack and awning. Rhino rack is THE BEST one as far is the design and ease of install. Hell they supply the torque tool to tighten the bolts. Definitely need to get one on my diesel gladiator!!
This looks like way more work than an Alu Cab 270.
Outstanding ‼️👍💯🏆
Nice awning. But that's still too much setup for me. I prefer my Kammok Crosswing. I can setup and tear down in less than 10 seconds, and that is no joke. That makes a big difference when you decide you want (or need) to move your car. The more I camp out of my FJ, the more I've realized that I never want to dig in and have my vehicle locked in place. I want the flexibility to get up and drive away at a moment's notice, whether it be for emergencies, to relocate at the last minute, or just to make a quick drive to a trailhead or into town.
Thanks for the video. Something on my wish list!
I live in a REAL WINDY AREA not gonna deploy that thing ever ! I do have a system made in Broomfield Colo it has BUG SCREENS on it to! Have never used it ! But it wont RAISE MY CG and that is VERY IMPORTANT ! When it comes to Wheeling your CG is about the most important thing to pay attention to along with all the WEIGHT you add! Now what would happen if a haboob, came up while you were camped ? Would it then depart for other parts of the camp ground like some of my ground tents?
CG is non issue, refer to other videos of me wheeling the heel out of the 4Runner. Strong enough wind blows down houses so i guess it just depends!! Like stated in video I’ve had it set up and tied down during wind and it holds up to pretty good gust i just wouldn’t want to deploy out take down during the wind storms
Thanks for showing the rear hatch open/close. So many reviews miss that. I've been considering this awning for a while since I have a rhino rack. However, I've seen a lot of broken ones, which has led me to want a self supported awning even if they are more expensive. How much of a mileage hit did you see? Thanks for the review.
No hit on mpg
Excellent video! Not something for my Ambo conversion but good info, nevertheless. However Yiu did leave one critical question unanswered. You mentioned an impending beer run, but you didn’t mention the beer brand that you would be running down. Inquiring minds need to know.
Financial lights is my drink of choice!! Cheap Beer is the name of the game 🍻
@@SirWilliamGoes I sort of figured you for a PBR; MGD or Rolling Rock kind of guy. Whatever’s on sale! Save your money on beer and buy good tequila. That’s how I roll!
whatever happened to your tundra and camper?
The camper burned down. Tundra was sold. New things coming. Stay tuned
Is the 30% only on this model or all Rhino Rack orders ??
All rhino rack products
sir william- have you had those knuckles snap on you? I have the same one and I always seem to bust them, even while I am setting up when there is no wind
Only once. But it comes with two extra and took less than 5min to replace. They are designed to fail there so the tarp or arms don’t get damaged.
$130 for a 10 x 20 canopy on amazon....how is this complicated $1000 contraption better?
Im not sure what you saw for $1000 cause this isn’t. Also $130 is way too high for a canopy, they’re $40 at Walmart. Joe is it better, will, better is subjective to the users preference. That said, ill sey some benefits of this over a cheap canopy is first and foremost space. A 10x20 canopy will need to be carried some way and needs 10ft of space to do so so strap it to the roof i guess (now you need straps) and have to hassle with that. This is attached to the vehicle. Most larger canopy’s are a real pita for one person to deploy and often require two people, this is one person friendly. The material that make up the canopy is usually some poly blend similar to a cheap tent vs the stronger rip stop material of the awning. This will repel water much better without it seeping through as well as be much more durable. That’s just a few of the benefit. Ultimately the value of something is in the eye of the one buying it. If you value the cheapest possible solution for shade and shelter, may i suggest a 10$ tarp from harbor freight and some tent poles. Thanks for watching hope this helps
Reminds me of a chick I use to date!
😂 The 270 opening .. or the price ?
