My dad gets snakes in his glovebox all the time. Ive had them in my car, we put a screen overa spot between windshield and hood . I think they come through that way.
Our property had an abundance of copperheads and rattlesnakes but then we got cats. We went from watching every step we took to never thinking about them. A couple days ago 5 of the cats were siting in a circle in the driveway messing with something. Went and looked and it was a 2 ft copperhead they had killed. Cats are worth their weight in gold to me, they me peace of mind
I know how the snake got in there... I see this kind of often being a service mechanic. Mice, and other small critters like chipmunks, for some reason, like to go into the air vents and nest on top of the cabin air filter, which is usually behind the glove box... snakes follow the scent trail of the mice, end up in the vents hunting the mice that live in there and occasionally they'll find their way out of the vents and into glove boxes, or under the seats... and that's how you get a snake in there, so uhm... I'd put some decon under the hood somewhere and get rid of the mice before they chew up some important wires...
GM ASE Master Technician, You are correct. Depending on the model of the vehicle, I have installed metal screens over the intake port located on the passenger side under the hood to stop them from getting inside as well.

@@Go4Corvette yep, some models you can do that and it'll last for a little while, but if a mouse wants to get in... they'll use that metal to gnaw on and shorten their teeth, which all rodents have to do, and they'll chew through that metal screen just like they do the metal wires... mice and chipmunks 🐿... I love all of God's creatures, but some of em can cause headaches for a mechanic, no doubt! 😂😂😂
My neighbor had a rat get into her car that was parked in her garage. It ate through the plastic air conditioning vent. Luckily, no snakes were involved.
My bro and sis n law lived along the Gasconade River about 25 years ago. We were celebrating the matriarchal birthday of the family with a bbq and party when someone screamed “Snake in the kitchen!” Being not afraid of snakes I went in and seen its tail as it went under the stove. I grabbed the first long handled item I found and pushed the snake out, I saw it was a black snake, grabbed it from behind its head grabbed the tail and went outside and catapulted it over the levy protecting the farmers field. I grew up with sisters having snakes as pets so I knew how to handle them from an early age. Hero for the day and it survived a death

I once got in my car and pressed the brake release. Thank God I was wearing sandals, as I felt the huge hairy spider (5 inches by 1.5 inches) fall on my foot. If I had not been wearing sandals I would not have felt it, and it would have crept up my leg as I was driving. Talk about old person bolting out of the car. Adrenalin is beautiful.

Lol!😮 Reminds me of when my kids were young, they hid a bunch of garden snakes they found camping, in the trunk. I don't know how they did it, but they started coming out the front vents! Almost had an accident.

Only 1. oh yeah they can get in. MOTH BALLS do work to deter them. My folks used them I do too. I had a rattler crawl up into the Back part of my Seat Drivers side, I kept feeling like the seat was moving as if it was massaging, but this was an 80's model cougar they hadn't come out with all that fancy car stuff then. We get those big fat timber rattlers here and I'm within spittin distance of Daniel Boone. You know miss Wanda we leave our cars doors open while we're unloading the groceries. I figure I parked in the drive which was close to the garbage cans and they most like ly had field mice around there trying to figure out how to get into the trash. I moved the cans.
My wife would definitely have to sell the car if something like that ever happens to us,cause im pretty sure the brown stain wouldn’t come out of the seat. On top of that,it’s highly likely I just would have bailed out of the car right then and there….60 mph or not. Tuck,roll,and pray!
We live in Arizona by Mexico…had 15 rattlers in the front yard this year. We remove and relocate them since we did it professionally for our jobs before we retired and have the tong sticks and bags with handles. Most are not hard to catch but one was a booger and took three tries before we bagged it, a blacktail rattler. Most the others were diamondbacks over three feet long.
Most glove boxes have cardboard backs. Mice/rats chew a hole through the cardboard because someone left some peanut butter crackers (or something) in there and the snake follows the rat scent and crawls through the hole. Oh joy!!! 🙀
Oh my word!!!! We just had several mice in my 2024 Suburu Outback Wilderness Edition. We figured it out by seeing white cotton in my air vents…then we got to investigating….mice nests in my air filters under the hood, all throughout my ac vents and in the back where the spare tire is located. We put those large sticky pads under the seats….and yes, we caught another one🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Those would work for snakes by the way, at least if they went under the seats they would get stuck. I will never ever park my car in that garage again…AND I will never ever go without those sticky pads again. I had a small package of dog food in the back that I kept for stray dogs, other than that, my car is spotless. They found that little stash and made a home out of my car….that I drive every week 😭😭😭
Oh my! You almost gave ME a heart attack! 😅 I'm glad y'all are ok. It probably worked up under the wheel well, then into the heater vent, & then tried to get out & worked up the back of the glove box, & got stuck. I've seen them wrapped up around the grill, a headlight, & up under shrouds.
Danny! We brought flooring samples home (100% wood) and put them through the “key” test and purchased from that. It has held up to the dog peeling out after a toy

I bought the Olight mini marauder this summer. In a week it was not working. I called Olight and they immediately mailed me a new one before I got mine sent back. They gave me a return label and made it so easy.
Hey Danny and Wanda when I was a kid we used to harvest pecans and black walnuts and we used to peel the green hull off and mom would put the hulls in her sausage grinder and grind them into a pulp and then strain all the juice from them and that was the homemade iodine she put it in small brown bottles and let me tell ya that stuff burned like the Dickens but it heàled our cuts fast, stay safe and God Bless

Put mothball in you car it will keep snakes out i use to put them under the hay in the nesting boxes and in the chicken house and on the out side never had snaks it wont hurt anything

That sure wouldn't be expected a snake in a glovebox. Had a squirrel build a nest in my front grill and something else in a nest in my engine compartment. Went to get wood expecting 30s and a rabbits nest. Animals just love my yard, squirrel in garage all winter I could never trap. Garden a snackbar. Got a shed for quail. Overrun with raccoons. Most raccoons are the road kill here.
Oh, man...I just had to laugh at this one!!! Nothing like nature pulling surprises!! My dad actually used a snake a couple of times to play practical jokes on his friends. One time he put a small bull snake in a bin of bolts in his shop. He asked his friend who was helping him work on farm equipment to go to that bin to grab a bolt. 'Nuf said!!!

There is a air intake box in behind the glove box takes a filter looks a bit like an air conditioner filter its replaceable probably went in through the hood area!
I'd bout have a heart attack too if I found a big ole snake the car! I will never forget the time I was working in Texas and it had rained. I got into my car to go to town and half way down the driveway, my legs felt like they were on fire. Well, they were in a way. An entire nest of fire ants had made their way into the car on the driver's side mat, and they had covered both legs! You never saw someone put a car into park and fly out of it so fast! I stood there and swatted them off, it was a miracle but I only ended up with two bites. Almost as bad as the time a bat flew into my pillow at night and got into my hair,😲😲😲
Danny get yourself a scope for your crossbow they make them with illuminated sights. I have a crank for my bow to draw it and it also came with an illuminating sight scope. It’s hell getting old and losing muscle tone
Holy moly!! We have been on our property in the central Missouri ozarks for two years and we have yet to see a snake. Our entire property is wooded and we are always in the woods. I would have a heart attack seeing one on my driveway let alone in my car. 🫣

I like my speckled king snakes but they are not aggressive and I can even step over them and they never strike I have even moved them on a broom handle and they didn't get real upset but other snakes I am scared of. My Grandmaw told me if I had a poison snake around the house that I killed to safely build a little fire and burn the snake up, and it would keep other from coming, I have done that a couple of times and it seems to work.
Danny and Wanda about a month ago after I washed a load of clothes I pulled out all my husbands dress shirts and I saw something in the back as my hand was going toward it. My brain kicked in “ I missed a sock”, NO wait… I don’t have any socks that color” I holled at my husband THERES A SNAKE IN THE WASHING MACHINE!!!!!!! I was beyond my self! It was a Bull Snake. This is my safe place! I’m 57 and I have never! Still can’t figure out how it made it into the machine. My hand almost grabbed it. That would have been the end of me.oh I forgot to mention he was still alive. Of course my husband took him out and turned him loose. In Texas they kill rattlesnakes so I know it’s a good snake but I hate snakes.

Some cars have a "cabin filter"inside the glove box. The snake could have gotten in from underneath the car through the filter box.
Well, we had a mama mouse and her babies in our glove box one morning. If you had them in your glove box I bet they are not there now. Thumbs up.

My suv had a cabin air filter inside the glove box. Maybe it got access from where ever the air comes into the air filter.
That would be a great addition to my bugout bag.
There is a air intake box in behind the glove box takes a filter looks a bit like an air conditioner filter its replaceable probably went in through the hood area!

I'd bout have a heart attack too if I found a big ole snake the car! I will never forget the time I was working in Texas and it had rained. I got into my car to go to town and half way down the driveway, my legs felt like they were on fire. Well, they were in a way. An entire nest of fire ants had made their way into the car on the driver's side mat, and they had covered both legs! You never saw someone put a car into park and fly out of it so fast! I stood there and swatted them off, it was a miracle but I only ended up with two bites. Almost as bad as the time a bat flew into my pillow at night and got into my hair,😲😲😲

Danny get yourself a scope for your crossbow they make them with illuminated sights. I have a crank for my bow to draw it and it also came with an illuminating sight scope. It’s hell getting old and losing muscle tone

Holy moly!! We have been on our property in the central Missouri ozarks for two years and we have yet to see a snake. Our entire property is wooded and we are always in the woods. I would have a heart attack seeing one on my driveway let alone in my car. 🫣

I like my speckled king snakes but they are not aggressive and I can even step over them and they never strike I have even moved them on a broom handle and they didn't get real upset but other snakes I am scared of. My Grandmaw told me if I had a poison snake around the house that I killed to safely build a little fire and burn the snake up, and it would keep other from coming, I have done that a couple of times and it seems to work.

Danny and Wanda about a month ago after I washed a load of clothes I pulled out all my husbands dress shirts and I saw something in the back as my hand was going toward it. My brain kicked in “ I missed a sock”, NO wait… I don’t have any socks that color” I holled at my husband THERES A SNAKE IN THE WASHING MACHINE!!!!!!! I was beyond my self! It was a Bull Snake. This is my safe place! I’m 57 and I have never! Still can’t figure out how it made it into the machine. My hand almost grabbed it. That would have been the end of me.oh I forgot to mention he was still alive. Of course my husband took him out and turned him loose. In Texas they kill rattlesnakes so I know it’s a good snake but I hate snakes.
