this past few months I've had a terrible issue with kidney stones. Hospitalized, and followed by surgery 3 weeks later. Almost 1½ inch round size stone passed into urethra and had to pushed back into kidney. I found out that Goldenrod is a treatment for kidney stones and prevention of more. I had never harvested wild Goldenrod, until this month. I have been drinking gr tea everyday. dried enough for 3 quarts and made 2 quarts of tincture. it is a pleasant herbal tea. I also add ginger and cinnamon to it. Gathered from my own property. Helps as a diuretic and helps my pain issues as well.

I had double kidney stone 2 weeks ago. I passed it at home. Lol. Before that, it was 2009 in ASIA. Philippines hospital was a blessing also. I was checked out and back to work in 20HRS.

@@smartassist9700 I've passed several stones but once they are larger than 7mm in women, they require surgical or liptostripsy treatment to be broken up. I had liptostripsy 3 times. This stone was about the size of a large glass marble. It would never have passed on its own. Caused severe infection and terrible pain for over 5 weeks. Nearly shut my kidneys down, and would have cased total shut down and or damage to my kidneys. Scan showed other smaller stones also. That's why I decided to look for natural remedies to breakup and prevention of future larger stones. Once someone has reoccurring kidney stones, they tend to continue to experience them more often and oftentimes larger. So if you're using goldenrod for kidney health, I think that's awesome.

I agree. At 12yrs old I passed out - no reason or warning. 2 yrs later they found deformed left kidney. Reconstruction during Christmas holidays. Used urine bag for 3 months (even back to school in January. (Humiliated” that young. Stone inside was over 11mm across.
Kidney almost gone after reconstruction. But today…. X-ray. Both kidneys huge/same size. But I had stones annually until mid 2003.
Then working in Asia…. One on right side,,, wouldn’t pass. Hospital there so nice and service was awesome. I passed it then went back to work next day just few hrs late.

I love goldenrod. As a 3rd grader, I remember writing a poem in school about Fall. It started, "The goldenrod is yellow, the leaves are falling down. The trees in apple orchards, with fruit are laden down ." Remember, I was a 3rd grader. 😅 It had to rhyme.

I “ thrash” my goldenrod, too. Here in Quebec, Canada, they had lots of worker bees on them, they left...slowly, when I shook the plants. I just put them head down into brown paper bags and they dried in the house in about two days. The whole plant is good to use. It dissolves crystals in gout and dissolves kidney stones, too. Plus it regenerates thé kidneys!❤

I made a cup of tea while we were watching❤ but I have been using a tincture for almost 6 months. Because I have Allergies, and blood pressure issues. My niece makes it and she showed me it on my property. I harvested it for her along with old man's beard, and passion flowers she asked for. She has been studying HERBALIST stuff for 4 years. The results are I no longer take allergy meds. I don't have water in my feet and I can get out to the garden as well as stand canning with out the discomfort. Plus the water pills I use to take I no longer have to, so if you add all 3 it saves me 88 dollars a month. Plus labs lol. Y'all know those doctors want labs 2 times a year!

@@nadiar.7788 Thank you so very much for sharing this with me. I really appreciate all advice and even constructive criticism as long as it’s coming from a good heart.
I’m very blessed with having a wonderful husband that knows how to spot the different plants; he’s the one that gardens and we also have several books that identify plants and bugs.
I’m grateful that you brought this up in case someone else interested reads this and knows to have something to help identify what you’re looking for; especially people new to foraging.
The biggest thing I’ve learned from him about plants and weeds is that the weed will try to mimic what the plant looks like when it’s young. You really need to be careful because hemlock looks a lot like a completely different wild flower. So you really need to know what you’re looking for.
We’ve got a ton of mushrooms in the area but I’m not confident enough yet to go mushroom hunting yet. I used to have a neighbor that was in her late 70’s and you would have thought late 50’s maybe with how active she was. She used to go mushroom hunting with her brother every year and I have never seen such large shrooms like she’d come back with. I always wanted to go with but I never asked because I knew that was their only alone time without either of their spouses so it was their thing. She would call me to come see what she got and she said that she cleans, cuts them up and freezes them in small batches for their dinners and she had enough for a year. You might think that’s not a lot then for 2 elderly people but her husband was Italian and she was German so she made a lot more Italian food and they eat them often.
Thank you Nadia! You are very kind to take the time to tell me that.🙏🏼❤️Tracy®️

Luckily for me I stayed out of trouble and knew better but my brother couldn’t seem to grasp the consequences of his actions lol and I had to witness it. Didn’t think much of it at the time but now it’s kind of horrifying to think that I would take a switch to the back of the legs of my children or grandchildren. It worked for me but not for my brother lol

Thanks Mrs. Heart, I think I have a little of this growing here on my property. So many ornamentals but perhaps it's actually something I can use and drink in a tea.

Love this video! I harvested goldenrod last year to help with my husband's allergies. I made a tincture with vodka and honey. It truly helped. We shared with others and they said it helped with inflammation and kidneys. I had no idea how many benefits it had. It is a little gold for us! I did not think to dehydrate it. That is next on my list to do. Many blessings to you and Mr. H to!

I went out several times foraging for goldenrod. It is everywhere in our rural location. I decided to also cut some extra for a vase of flowers. It pairs stunningly with Queen Annes Lace. I couldn’t have bought a prettier floral arrangement. Picking wildflowers is good for the soul.

I use “bell peppers” in everything. When I grow peppers I grow as many sweet varieties as I can. This year I grew Flavourburst bell peppers, Cubanelles, and Sweet and Pretty peppers. I dried them and pickled them. The more you pick peppers the more they make as long as pests don’t them. I have dried and used many jars of them and I still don’t know if I have enough. If I don’t I will hit up my local produce markets.

I like to make a goldenrod jelly. Basically, make a super strong goldenrod tea, add sugar and pectin, simmer, then can it to make it shelf stable. This way I get the benefits of it but with the added convenience of it already being prepared. Sometimes I'll take a teaspoon of the jelly and dissolve it in warm water as a quick tea. Bonus points because my kids love it :). Great video and thanks for sharing the tincture idea!

When I start talking about medicinal herbs, tinctures, extracts, etc and asking about what local plants/herbs naturally grow here, my neighbors look @me like I’m from another planet. I've been wanting to try goldenrod for a while but only could find it on the sides of the road. This year we've had some come up wild on the edge of our lawn right before the woods, so I'm going to try to harvest that this year. Thank you for sharing this method, and I can't wait until you share the tincture. I've read that it is good for many auto immune disorders, such as asthma, arthritis, and diabetes.
