I don't get the comparisons with the Mercedes and Land Rover throughout the video, those are unibody vehicles. Was interested in hearing about how it compares to body on frame competitors like the Escalade and Navigator.
This will be a popular comment.
@@coolaa7 Its really frustrating watching the new reviews as many of them do not go into much detail in regards to the driving experience (especially relative to competitors), and most of them are just regurgetating the same old content the design and technology when we already have those. Was hoping they focus more on the driving experience and riding experience from all rows.
@@Zero-qo6zpI feel we are in the minority. Thus, not the target audience.
Fair enough. The comparison was made because the Range Rover and GLS were top of mind and it's been a while since getting into either Escalade or Navigator. But the point is well taken. Thanks for the comment.
We're pretty sure there is a great deal discussed about the driving experience, especially the ride quality in this video. There is so much to talk about that we do need to make things as concise and direct as possible. But we appreciate the comment and will try to fit in more driving impressions.
Wow very cool addition to have reviewed both 2nd and 3rd row “live” vs just speaking to it like in normal reviews. Probably one of the first times I’ve ever seen this done. Would be awesome to see this in future reviews as well!
Looks amazing. I love Infiniti. I still have my 2001 qx4 runs great.
I watch about 3/4 car reviews on UA-cam a day, literally, and never have I seen someone reviewing the third raw while in motion. I’m sure time was limited but I like this. Keep doing this. We need to see the absolute most while vehicles are in motion. Good job Lyn!
-Huge Fan
Will do this more often!
2:45 Lyn casually rolling through a stop sign :)
We call that the Jersey roll 😏😏😏
@@bmwhigh1 California roll
The redesign looks great
It does? I’m seeing the Ford Flex.
Lynn and Emme on the same shoot!!! AWESOME!
When I win the lottery, I'm buying this!
You’d waste lottery money on a damn QX80! Aim higher, dude.
lol. The car is about the most flash I can imagine. I don’t care about attention.
Thank you Lynn! I'm not the only one to use the expression "in a minute" 🙌🏽
Excellent video!
Looks Amazing!
Thanks for sweating for us Lynn! 😅 I can't unsee the Queen Amidala front headrest tho. 😊
Would have loved to hear how this rides compared to the other body on frame competition. Of course it's not going to be able to match unibody competitors. And haha, so sorry you had to suffer the heat for the bio-cooling demo, but the seatbelt needing to be buckled makes sense for the system to work.
Horrible comparison and she definitely doesn't know what she was talking about. This is the problem with some of these auto-reviewers, if they are not presented with information, some of them have issues thinking for themselves and figuring things out.
I just don't understand how anybody in the auto-industry would compare the driving dynamics of this body-on-frame vehicle to uni-body vehicles. This competes against other body-on-frame vehicles such as the Escalade, Navigator, Grand Wagoneer and Lexus GX.
I agree with your assessment of the styling of the car.
Love the exterior design. It's giving me Range Rover vibes. Interior design looks a little busy, but I still like it. And it seems to have more interior space than my living room. And lastly, That body temperature reader is a damn good idea. Plus I can't stop picturing Lyn in a headband.
HI EMME HALL!!!
Great Review Lynn, Infiniti made some great update and improvements especially with the style minus the wheels. I could see what you mean about the refinement (the driver seat was shaking a bit when you filming from that view. While the Tech is phenomenal and the Klipsch sound system is truly an amazing feature them but I think they are pushing the price a bit too much especially for the Autograph model. Almost 30K more than the outgoing Sensory is insane. I think it if would have push it to just 100K they would have a winner. 112K plus the markup coming will be about 125K OTD. It would be wise to wait a year or two when they work out the kinks and refine the suspension and the price settles down.
Ive seen the center armrest and console is hard. Is there room to put your arm and elbow with the cup and charger doors open?
I would’ve liked hear her comparison of this between the Detroit 3 with this. This competes more with those.
Solid review
Are the wheels too small or like too far in compared to the fenders? Something is off with them.
Looks great, seems like they put a lot of effort into it. Big step forward over the previous version which was quite old. However, a lot of money to ask for a brand that is pretty much comatose
I’m going to buy the next 2025 Chevy Duramax SUBURBAN. How much cargo, strollers , wagons, grocery room got Costco runs QX80 have behind 3 rd row ?
Lmao. Okay?
The last-gen QX80 was very similar to the Armada once they moved it to the Patrol platform. We'll have to see how close the new Armada will be. That's likely the better deal.
Infiniti should go out of business.
@@faheemabbas3965Infiniti needs an all new Q50. That’s what enthusiasts want.
i didnt know Lyn is such a good dancer lol
The skin temperature reader could be really good if they get it to work right. I hope more cars do that in the future.
@@PlayWaves1 well it does work right and all you have to do is put on your seatbelt and theres most likely legal reasons why you have to press auto for it to cut on
Beautiful SUV !!!
Great job Lyn! No about that $113K price...eek. pretty steep!
It took me a few seconds to realize that you had transitioned from driving to evaluating the third-row seat while the vehicle was still moving 🤯
Very nice livery, but those "A" pillars look ginormous. Can we get a literal successor to the FX, please?
The QX65 is on the way.
@desblac8797 Yeah, more than likely not a successor. A FWD based couped up cop out version of the QX60. Not the RWD/AWD platform that provided awesome driving dynamics.
I don’t know why they ever discontinued the FX/QX70. It was one of their best models. They also neutered the QX50 with front wheel drive and a problematic turbocharged 4 cylinder and a CVT.
@gedaman definitely agreed! I think all that nonsense started happening after the merger. I found a good deal on an FX45 and can't stop driving it. Then Genesis took and have been thriving using Infinity's old strategy.
@@fgeiger41 The Nissan Renault merger turned the company around for the better. Cars like the G35, FX, M, EX, and QX56 came out after Carlos Ghosn came in. Nissan and Infiniti kind of gave up about 10 years ago.
You need to pay over $90k for the near top trim just to get ambient lighting???
112k for an Infiniti with a v6. That's 1/2 - 1/3 of a condo. On a depreciating vehicle.
You do realize its a full size luxury SUV with luxury features. The people who buy this have a house not a condo.
Just call an Uber if you don't like cars 😂
Air suspension and turbocharge and a small engine. That thing will cost a fortune after the warranty is gone.
If you can't afford it, that's ok. The European brands go for 25 to 50k more.
@@user-nr2ch9pp2g It uses the same engine as the GTR and that's extremely reliable.
This is a very nice SUV. But I can’t help but notice that every time I see one of these, it appears to be sitting too low as if the air suspension is broken. Look above the front tires and you’ll see what I mean. It’s weird.
Is it still based on the old platform?
Everything is new in this model I hear.
Awesome design! How reliable will this be?
That’s the question I have. I feel like if it will be a reliable SUV then it’s going to be one of the best SUVs in the world
If Infiniti can improve on the gas mileage maybe add a hybrid down the line it would be perfect
We finally saw it on the road. I think this is the best car in its class, value for money, but why are there no rear screens?
The GM triplets own 3/4rds of the segment today.
What makes some of you think this SUV doesn't deserve the 100k plus price tag? 🤔
100k+? Nah. 80-99k is where it's at
@@randombutpro7547It starts around $85k. These days $100k is acceptable for a full size luxury SUV like this.
400k max it's cheap
@@randombutpro7547 Infiniti is just following market trends. The Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Lexus LX, and Land Rover Range Rover all sell for $100k plus after you add on options. Whether this new Infiniti truck is worth the price is up to the consumer. It does look like they put their best into it finally instead of selling the same old rebadged Nissan Patrol since 2010.
Nissan GT-R bred Turbo V6 be powerful and bullet proof. The GT-R should gotten a 9 spd and 3-500 less pounds
It looks nice but I dont see anything about it to make it stand out. It looks like a discount alternative to a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, but the Escalade is about to get refreshed and leave this thing in the past.
I prefer this over the Lexus LX.
Real world driving that V6 is going to get the same mpg as the V8
I still don’t understand why this brand even exist. However, maybe I do. Recently I got a rental Armada and the quality of the materials and the finish, compared to my 11 years old Navigator, was so poor, so I hope at least in an Infinity you don’t feel disgusted touching a door handle.
That was most likely a fleet edition of the armada nissan often has different models they give to rental companies not the one which is sold to public
No sale wanted to see the monograph drive ! Autograph 🤔acceleration was noisy
Great review, but the comparison to Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover was definitely off and not the right comparison. What made it worst, those comparisons were mentioned more than once in the video, just horrible. Those two vehicles are uni-body vehicles. This is a full-size body-on-frame vehicle like the Escalade, Navigator and Grand Wagoner. How can someone drive this vehicle and not think of the Navigator, Escalde or the Grand Wagoneer? This is a direct competitions to those three vehicles, even people who are not auto-journalists or into the auto industry know that.
I wish some of these reviewers take the time to think for themselves, be analytical and don't always have to rely on information given to them... or maybe in this case, Infiniti didn't explain/reinforce to her the QX80 competes more inline and directly with other luxury body-on-frame vehicles.
That background music was awful
Yet another review that seems to be afraid to call out how horrible the center console ergonomics is. Car Confections is the only channel to be honest about it. You can see in this video that when she is driving with just her left hand, she awkwardly can’t rest her right elbow on the arm rest because of the stupid flip up phone charger area. And also car confections said there is zero padding on the arm rest. A huge miss for Infiniti considering the price of this car and a clean padded arm rest is so important for comfort for us that never drive with 2 hands.
I like the look, and the features but that price, och.
If it had the v8 it would a buy
Wish they would of had some real knobs for climate control at least
You will have to sell your house for this 😂😂😂
Hall and Woodward.......... Best combo ever!!!
i miss emme hall
Why does the Infiniti guy look like a bell hop 😲
Looks like a refrigerator on wheels, that’s a dealbreaker.
Lost me at 6 cylinder.
A small 6 cylinder engine with a huge amount power is a throw away engine.
Wow the palisade has gotten really expensive
Wrong brand family 😂
That’s the joke silly billy
Body temperature based cooling or heating is just stupid .. who come up with such unscientific gimmicks , pathetic.. but top class review thanks
MPG is 17/22 not 15/19
We only included mileage for the 4WD SUV. Following is from the Infiniti PR website. "The new powertrain - along with aerodynamic enhancements and other mechanical changes - result in fuel economy that is improved by more than 10% compared to the outgoing QX80. Rear-wheel-drive models will return an EPA-estimated 16 miles per gallon city and 20 mpg highway; 4WD models return 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway."
I’ve just seen the new ratings today! Thank you for responding to the “Little People! You guys(and Lyn) ROCK!!!!❤️
It needs a v8
This seems to be just fine if not a bit better in some respects.
Infiniti is supposed to be a budget luxury vehicle. Not priced with the big boys. Also the engine is mediocre.
that A pillar lol
Engine sounds weird.
Bloated styling, low to the ground, horrible approach angle of 16.5 - 22.5 Degrees and no low-range.
Hard to believe that this is what hey call a Patrol in other markets.
Previous QX80 looked like a bloated whale. New QX80 looks like a bloated whale on a diet.
I just dont understand the whole world moving to EV, why need this big gas guzzler
$110K MSRP for the QX80 Autograph trim is laughable for a rebadged Nissan.
Can you make an uglier vehicle even if you tried, like Lexus appears to do?
Miss Danger reviewing this car. Her attitude is lousy and boring! 😴
Infiniti is not known for quality, durability and reliability. Money better spent on a Lexus.
If you look at Repairpal Reliability ratings… The Infiniti QX80 and the Infiniti QX60 are the number one and the number two most reliable SUV’s with a third row.
Yes… Lexus is reliable… But Infiniti SUVs are also incredibly reliable.
@@philssong Nissan went downhill after merging with Renault in 1999. I owned three Nissan vehicles in the past and have vowed never to buy another one ever again. The last one I owned was a Maxima and it went into the repair shop 4 times for the same issue that the dealership could not fix. The dealership refused to it take back under the lemon law act so I had to fight with Nissan Corporation. After months of going back and forth and getting the State Certified Arbitration Program (SCAP) involved Nissan Corporation finally agreed to take back the vehicle and was forced to give me a full refund.
The LX600 and Tundra is literally being recalled for their TTV6 engine right now. Yes, even the Japan-built ones are affected.
Should Infiniti go out of business?
Keep drinking the kool aid lol. The crank bearings in those Toyota/Lexus 3.4 V6 turbo engines in the LX600, GX550 and Tundra are failing left and right at less than 20k miles. It’s laughable when people spend these overinflated prices for “Toyota reliability” and cry when these engines fail. I have a Lexus GX460 but I’m taking this QX80 over the LX600.
No 2 speed transfer case either. On road cruising is all it will good for.
