I used to like Shanes videos as a kid. Now that I think about it a lot of UA-camrs that I used to watch back in the day turned out to be complete scumbags today.

There's something about SunnyV2 and similar channels I just can't quite come to terms with. He's a UA-camr that makes ad rev off of other UA-camrs' controversies and demise. It just seems so leech-y to me. I get that it's educational and people obviously want to see it and know about it, but I can't help but feel like this guy is exposing people who don't need to be exposed. They've already had their hard times and struggles most of the time. Just beating a dead horse and accepting ad rev... Idk man.
SunnyV2 is also not objective enough. He often pushes a narrative and opinion
But streamers watching other's cantent and making money off of it is ok?
I really dislike it not just because of that, it is full of exagerations and his opinion presented as facts. For example here, he labeled him as a dead youtuber when his podcast is doing great. In a lot of videos it litteraly feels like he has a personal hate for the person he is talking about. The channel is built on negativity and is targeting people who want to see others fail.

I mean you’re right, it’s still entertaining though but you have to take his videos as an opinion piece, it’s very obvious sunny isn’t great at separating his feelings from the content but otherwise he gives a pretty decent background to a lot of events that happen around tubers that I might otherwise know literally nothing about

Shane just got stuck in the 2010/2014 era where literally everyone on internet said things like this, i remember there were quite a lot of twitter/facebook accounts of just memes like this and they were all really popular. Nowadays is the opposite and he just couldn't get out of that era that made him famous, doesn't help that today's society literally brings tweets and posts from like 15 years ago.

I used to watch Shane dawson back in 2012, it was def a different era, blackface , n word f word, you name it but even back then he was so much edgier than the rest. he was a very troubled kid so I honestly think he did do those terrible things and its not even that surprising if you watched his 2012 vids

I remember watching shane back in the day and do believe what he is saying with him just trying to be shocking. All of his content back then was him being edgey, mocking stereotypes, etc. I don't get why people think this podcast snippet is fact considering all of the context.
There was audio clips and discord messages that showed he did not lie about the cat story 100% real.
On top of what Dragon said, there are way too many weird instances of Shane showing and saying weird things involving kids. It’s fine to make one-off jokes, but his consistency across videos and podcasts when it comes to things like talking about how “hot this 8 yr old was when she was twerking” and a time he kissed a kid on the lips is way too weird to overlook. Frankly speaking, he was better off with his jokes about mocking stereotypes than “joking” about ejaculating on cats and his weirdly frequent pedophilic “jokes.”
I think both things are true. He did all that shocking stuff for comedy but then did bad stuff behind the scenes as well.

I have never liked Shane because I haven't ever simply find even an ounche of funny in him but just from an european perspective it looked like americans were just finding out what blackface is in 2010 and yeah in youtube those times Anything went.
