The most ironic thing about all of this is, if they had simply hidden their planned invasion and politely requested aid in transporting their people including women children elderly etc etc I have little doubt that ciri or anyone else like Geralt for that matter would have denied them refuge if they could convey the desperation of their situation , once that matter had been resolved they could worry about an invasion after securing usage of the gates😂
Can we look forward to a video on the Conjunction of the Spheres? It’s definitely an interesting time period/concept, plus would be nice for people who have only watched the show. A friend who watched the show was asking me about it and I wish I could’ve linked a fudgemuppet video on it!

I missed a lot of what the wild hunt actually was all about in my playthrough, this was very illuminating. The thing that sticks out most to me are the similarities between the hunt and Dark Eldar of the 40k universe.

FudgeMuppet, BIG THANKS for making this detailed video with great narration. I played through the WTCH3 and did not comprehend the full detailed picture of the Wild Hunt.
You've done an amazing job explaining the lore and set up for the wild hunt (I was very confused throughout playing the game and even reading the wiki pages front to back). That being said, now fully understanding how terrifying these guys are, it goes to show the absolute BALLS on Geralt and Ciri for being able to fight *and* defeat them
One thing you forgot to mention is that Eredin didn't really killed the king nor wanted the kings death. Avallach totally made that up. Somehow he manipulated the dream of the oneiromancer to blame Eredin and cause Ge'els to betray him. You can never trust a sage, Ge'els knew this, yet he still felt for it (or did he?) He even asked Geralt if he trusted Avallach when they first met.
Ge'els said you can't manipulate nor fabicate an oneiromancer dream. I don't think Avallach made anything up here. I think there is a chance Avallach was in on killing the king, how else would he know what Eredin did? I also think Avallach got jealous of the king because he was to be with Ciri and Ciri looks likes/reminds him of Lara Dorren, he is also obsessed with Ciri.
@@kj12351 as I understood it, the dream only showed Eredin giving the king, but conveniently omitted where he got the poison and, you know, basically ALL the context.
I have played Wtcher 3 several times and didnt understand all of the game’s politics since I havent read the books or played the first two games so this video helped soo much. Please keep making them, especially now that the Netflix series is out. We will need as much help as we can get!
Surprised you didn't mention the fact that the white frost and the ship Naglfar are both from Norse mythology. According to Norse legends, at the start of Ragnarok, a ship from Niflheim (the frozen land of those who didn't end up in Valhalla, in Norse mythology) called Naglfar that is made from human fingernails will set sail to go to war with the living.
A huge amount of Witcher lore relies on the Norse mythology and culture, both wild hunt and basically the whole Skellige. I like how Sapkowski mixed the Slavic/Celtic/Norse mythologies creating a diverse world. And players from cultures that descent from those earlier cultures will notice some small cultural things and have more knowledge about those things due to the legends they've heard as a child etc. I liked that it's heavily influenced by slavic culture and beliefs, Celtic and to a bit smaller extent Nordic myths and culture are well known in the west and most people know something about them. But the slavic mythology and culture aren't very well known there so Witcher sort of introduces people to it while making people from slavic backgrounds notice elements taken from it. A lot of quests that seem kind of random are actually near direct retellings of slavic legends, customs, beliefs etc. And those westerners who won't educate themselves further on it will miss the cultural context of things like the forefather's eve, mice tower, Gaunter O'dimm and its relationship to Pan Twardowski etc.
Actually it's entirely possible that the wild hunt, in universe, very much did find and raid our world. When Ciri goes on her random jumps after awakening the power, she ends up on a blacktop road next to a landfill
@@Mysteri0usChannel That's entirely the wrong question to ask though. The Wild Hunt don't need to engage a nuclear civilization in open war to achieve the goals of their raids, they're only trying to pick off people on the margins of society to utilize for slave labor, and occasionally abduct academics to further research into saving them from the White Frost. People go missing all the time, and far more often than not we just move on, accept it, and forget it ever happen, unless the person that disappears is very close to us. The real question is, if there was a group of magic Vikings that could move in and out of nuclear range near instantly, without being detected by modern technology, and that only abducted one or two people at a time in erratic and distant intervals, would we as a society notice or care? Some people would, that's the root of alien abduction paranoia after all, but we're not exactly in the habit of nuking the "aliens" every time someone goes missing are we?
