I heard that when Stan retired he allowed his phone number to be listed and would actually talk to fans on the phone and have full conversations with them.
I was a kid in the 70s, and in 1975 Trail of the Lonesome Pine was a surprise hit. My dear dad had it on 7". It introduced me to Way Out West, and the utter joy of that dance. And their films. The Music Box, Saps at Sea, Sons of the Desert.
Chill Wills’ yodeling was the perfect music for Stan and Ollie to dance to. Still puts an ache in my heart and moisture in my eyes. Another fine mess they have gotten me into.
If what i read is correct. This scene was filmed on the very stage Stan and Ollie gave their final performance on. It was brilliant using the silhouette and shadows of ths actors playin Stan and Ollie. Made me feel like i was watching the actual Stan and Ollie one last time.
Oliver most likely knew that his time was short and he wanted to go out doing what he loved...making people laugh and working with Stan.
This whole ending made me cry so hard. This is a beautiful movie and a perfect ending to the best comedic duo of all time

How dark the world has become without these 2 😢😢😢
Fun Fact: The majority of the stages is where Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy actually performed for their live shows in 1953.
I already lost it at "It was fun while it lasted. Wasn't it Stan?"...
Although not nominated they managed to include this ending scene at the Oscar Awards.
Poor Stan.......and Ollie😥😢 Stan must have been heartbroken when he lost his partner
If you didn’t cry at this you have a heart of stone.
Saw this film twice & would see it again. A tender tribute to 2 gentle funny men who dearly loved each other.
Friends forever

The world will never see their like again. I'm a 62 year old ex serviceman sitting here with tears rolling down my face ...RIP LEGENDS .!!!!
I'll miss us when we're gone...
Dammit, it's heartbreaking. Stan Laurel would be furious.
John C Reilly gave such great performance... Literally thought I was watching Oliver Hardy.. Should have won Oscar...
This Looks Like The Artist Vibes.
